One of the upcoming Warhammer + Battle Reports shows Orks battling Crimson Fists, so place your bets.

Very neat! Not really sure what about this screams Rogue Trader era, but a cool video tutorial all the same.

I'm struggling to see the Rogue Trader-ness of that paint scheme, but it's not a bad looking finished mini.

I've just received an email that this week's Warhammer+ Battle Report is a modern update of the Battle for the farm - so Crimson Fists vs Orks, but they look to have painted the armies in the same, retro-ish, scheme.

I guess it's mostly the clothing in blue and brown and the red-white face-painting. Sure, it doesn't scream Rogue Trader, but there're some hints.

I feel it’s time, is it time? It’s time.
Time to speculate on the reveals coming on Saturday.
Fruit hanging so low a Squat wouldn’t need to stretch?
Rest of World Eaters and Imperial Guard.
Medium height pendulous fruit?
More Marines of some stripe. Possibly Primaris jump stuff.
Fruit so high you’d need a ladder?
10th Ed shown off in some capacity. Seems soon for release schedule, but who knows.

I think we'll definitely see the Kasrkin in more detail, hopefully a hint of their opponent and far more importantly, what the next bit of Gallowdark terrain looks like.
We should have the next season for 40K after Nephilim too shouldn't we?
Bit of nostalgia/some stuff about store events - World Eaters full reveal - Most of the Guard - New Season and road map for Q1 2023 - Kill Team would fill an hour if they're around 10min each.
It does feel a bit like should have more of a hint about what's coming next year.

My educated guess would be more World Eaters and Imperial Guard reveals, contents of the next big Kill Team box (all signs pointing to Kasrkin vs. ???), road map of next books, a random Space Marine or Black Library model of some sorts, MAYBE a 10th Edition teaser but really just a teaser, no models or anything.
Though I don't know how much sense it makes to unveal a new edition now, when there are apparently Votann, Guard and World Eaters codices still to sell...

At this point, I don't think we're seeing Kasrkin as part of a Gallowdark set. It just feels way, way, way too soon for it when they're billed like this: If we assume September to September is how far they want it to stretch? We'd likely see 4 months between boxes... which puts the next box in January assuming they skip over December like they usually do I do think we're going to see a rotation of the "starter set" in January alongside of the next Gallowdark set though. Put in the KT: Rogue Trader and Pariah Nexus scatter scenery and a bit of the Into the Dark scenery for flavor, bam. Job's a good one. If rumors pan out, I'd expect the Guard Army Set to get showcased. Oh yeah, and I'm expecting an announcement at some point of a bunch of new or resculpted character models as release fillers next year.

There is no 10th ed until Adepticon or Warhammer Fest. If GW were inclined to share a look into what they'd consider the far future, I'd expect a campaign book or short series that paves the way for 10th ed. But presented as an exciting development in 9th ed, not a sign of a new edition.

But the event happening this Saturday *is* Warhammer Fest. It's just all devoted to 40k this year.
EDIT: Never mind. Completely confused Warhammer Day and Warhammer Fest

I wonder if there are going to be any special offers this year? Last year they had a good discount on Nurgle Start Collecting sets, Warcry scenery and number of other things.

EDIT: Never mind. Completely confused Warhammer Day and Warhammer Fest
It leads to an interesting thought, though. When Games Day was resurrected as Warhammer Fest, I believe they were also in the middle of rebranding GW stores to Warhammer stores to capitalize on the stronger brand recognition. Games Day as a name was a joke in the latter days of Kirby, but these days with all the specialist games GW is doing again it wouldn't be a bad name for the event.
If they'd had the foresight, bringing back Games Day as Games Day and introducing Warhammer Fest as the big thing in the other half of the year might have been a better choice just for clearer branding.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see as a repeat would indicate that it was a success for GW. Last year's deals had a clearance vibe to them. Makes you wonder what they might put up this year.

Games Day for me will now forever be a relic memory. Right age, right place, right time. Coach full of nutters off to indulge their hobby for the day.
Even if all of that is brought back, and a new generation of gamers get that experience? For me it will never be the same experience.

Yeah, there's no sense in going back to Games Day now. That would only imply there was something wrong with Warhammer Fest, and GW wouldn't want that perception out there. The time for it would have been the moment it was brought back, and that ship has sailed.

They do need to increase capacity on the seminars though! They’re usually my favourite part - though in the modern day some of their exclusivity has gone due to internet age.
And to be fair, I’ll never miss the utterly inane questions put to the panel. Including having a go at them over prices (which they don’t set) hearing a question be answered “no”, then rephrasing that question, expecting a different result.

Well, the important thing is that the seminars exist and people can still ask for the return of Squats. The loss of that really stung when GW canned Games Day.

That's right, some idiot decided we need a model for Girlyman when they could have used that plastic to redo the Halfling Cook. What a waste!

People always go into these with high expectations. Which is a bit understandable, as the GW media folks always hype it as the biggest things ever.
Go in with reasonable expectations, knowing the PR flacks have over hyped it and the whole thing is more enjoyable.

What low expectations you have. My disappointment will be boundless unless it's the Lion surfing on that Thunderhawk and Doomrider jumping over his head, all of which is mounted on curved novelty flight stands that attach to completely unforeseen places.
Although if we really have to settle for mediocrity (again), then at least I hope they won't dwell on all the World Eater and Cadian stuff we've already seen and focus on new stuff. Maybe show the new Imperial Guard tank. I'd be interested to finally see it.

If this isn't an announcement about 100% free rules that are perfectly balanced from day one and entirely in line with my extensive rants on Reddit, then I might just have to make an angry YouTube video. That will show them.
Also the new models need to be solid gold and with 90's pricing.
