There’s a great monster-slaying theme here and Warhammer has lots of monsters so there’s that, plus if you do replace the Ork with a carnifex or something, you can make a duel of the warbosses or something with the base.
I look forward to seeing an enterprising Ork player remodel it to reverse the roles, and have the Ork standing triumphant over a dead marine.

While I usually refrain from buying GW stuff, this one may buck that trend*... that is if the price isn't the typical GW insanity.
*If just to paint it up to display, I have very little interest in playing modern GW games these days.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused. |

Because everyone is primaris now. Even retroactively. People who are still labouring under the illusion that primaris are just "the next step" in the evolution of space marines and not just a hard reset to make them "tru-scale" are fooling themselves.

Apparently, "Primaris Bayard" first appeared in the Warhammer Combat Card game, though not enough information is given on if its the Helsreach hero reborn. I'm guessing not, though maybe its a spiritual successor, given that he's killing an ork.
Honestly, I was thinking it was that one emperor's champion who got kidnapped by orks in that one black library story.

Given that the revenge in question is for the death of Bayard, I suspect that it is not actually Bayard achieving it. I would have thought that it was fairly clear that this was an Emperor's Champion achieving revenge for Bayard, not Bayard himself meting out revenge for his own death. The BT in question might be the bearer of Bayard's geneseed, perhaps...

So for those of us who really like the sculpt but don't have a Black Templar force what's the best way to include this in a mainly primaris diy chapter?
Just a primaris lieutenant?
Something better?

In all seriousness, wouldn’t he be a good captain or chaplain with just a little conversion?

That would require gw to rewrite space marine sizes though. Space marines been consistently written 7 feet tall which 8 feet primaris don't ft. So gw would need to redo primaris models to be true scale.

No, it doesn't require them to do anything to the space marine law. You're not rescaling their in universe height, only the model size.

Depending on how much conversion you want to do.
Right now he’s got a fancy sword and a bolt pistol. Some extra stuff hanging from his belt and purity seals.
Assuming Primaris.
Chaplains are out unless you replace the sword.
Primaris captains don’t have just a sword and pistol option. (insert NMNR rant here)
You can do a straight WYSWYG Lieutenant. MC power sword and pistol.
If you swap his bolt pistol out for an absolver bolt pistol, he’d make a good Judiciar. Pistol is a bit small for the role, but that sword can pass for an executioner relic blade. Fits the model better.
Floating around the internet are the rules for the limited release primaris company champion. He wouldn’t have a pistol, but is a good stabby marine.

If you claim primaris are suddenly space marnes of old then 8 feet primaris model are too tall to be considered true scale.
Id you claim otherwise then first borns were true scale all the time as modei height is irrelevant. Grot can be true scale space marine

No! 38mm Primaris models are scaled to be about seven feet compared to 32mm normal humans. Stop repeating this BS and do the maths.

"28 mm scale" used to refer the height of model's eyes. Older GW's humans indeed were of that height, making the actual models about 30mm tall. The current normal humans however are at least couple of mm taller.

In fairness, I did forget that guy.
Just reinforces my dislike of the way GW is doing wargear options these days. Plasma pistol/power sword has been the iconic captain loadout since forever, and the only way to have it is to seek out limited models and hope they have a rules pamphlet allowing it. And even it it is in the codex, we get Byzantine datasheets allowing only specific combos. Sigh. I didn’t want to do a NMNR rant, but here we are. Sorry, one of my hotbutton issues.
And to be pedantic to the point of counts-as for this model, that’s a plasma, not a bolt pistol. Although I give that it’s a trivial counts-as/WYSWYG for a holstered pistol to be whatever you paid the point for.

You say that, but it's more down to the ultra-dippy Captain rules that we're in this situation. Would it kill them to just put a list and points values and be fething done with it...

I find that quite understandable. You know, I like to think that I pay attention to GW releases, even limited models I wouldn't be able to get for one reason or another. But I don't think I've seen that captain before.

I’m pretty sure he’s from the serial magazine collection. Hopefully his rules will make their way into the next codex. I’m not going to track down the official model, but it’s pretty easy to kitbash primaris captains. I could always use a few more.

I see. I guess a magazine model would be one least marketed by GW directly.
Good luck with the next codex, I guess.I can't see GW suddenly abandon the no model, no rules nonsense (nor move away from assorted other insanity less easily described in a short phrase).

Perhaps Cawl has built a tardis pattern flux capacitator so he can go back to the armageddon conflict with primaris.
Actually, if it resulted in plastic models for Armageddon steel legion, I would probably say "fine, whatever you say GW"
