True... but they didn't even deliver on that really barring about 30 seconds talking about the new organs. They didn't describe the background of any previously unknown units that are in the book nor share any artwork. The only "new" unit they discussed was the already shown repulsor tank and that was only to say that it's grav system is very indelicate and more like a plow than a gentle skimmer. Even if they weren't going to talk about rules, I think it would be a reasonable expectation for a stream about the new marine codex to actually talk about and at least partially show what was new in the new marine codex. There is more info in the typical 30 second GW teaser youtube video than in this 1 hour stream.

I'd guess most of the rules stuff will be in the game stream tomorrow.

Oh! What are they?

The Belisarrian Furnace, which is what lets them fight to the end in bursts of adrenaline fuelled madness(think of what the Ancient lets them do).
The Steel Within--their muscles are all Wolverined up.
They didn't really talk about the third.

That's actually the part that I was most disappointed about. I was hoping they might talk a bit more in-depth about the Reivers or something like that.

Indeed. The "steel within" part was described as metal coils around their tendons that give them increased strength. They did show a screen shot of the page with the organs I assume from the new book but I couldn't blow it up on my phone to see what it actually said about the third.

Also agreed. While I hoped for some rules tidbits, I expected new background info and previews of art since that's what they advertised. Instead, they mainly rehashed what was already known from the Dark Imperium novel and the core rulebook fluff interspersed with how proud they were about themselves because of things like the previous campaign and how they brought a primarch back.

While the Warhammer Live broadcast focused on delivering information on the new space marines' background, the narrators did mention some of the new rules briefly.

For example they told the viewers that the bonus rules for squadrons of 3 space marine tanks, such as 3 predators' Kill-shot and 3 vindicators' Linebreaker Bombardment, will be brought back as unique Strategems.

Nice.

I think i will like this approach to "formation" bonuses. while free its 100% limited based on how you build your army and you lose out on options the more you use it.

The Index only allows Predators to be bought singly. Does this mean Marine players will be able to purchase three Predators for a single Heavy Support slot again?

They were never killed off, just left hanging by a thread. Also they are mentioned in the Primaris book from the starter set.

Yup, they were an example of an understrength chapter that was bolstered by Primaris Marines. Crimson Fists were another.

More attention on chapters beyond the first founding is always nice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Primaris chapter upgrade kits beyond the usual suspects of Ultras, Wolves and Angels.

Decals, maybe? But machining and press time to produce plastic components for chapters that probably barely register numbers beyond homebrew will probably remain a pipe dream until they develop some sort of 3D print on demand service. (Or just straight up use an existing 3D print on demand service..)

I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

It's a shame they gave up on metal casting, metal casting was perfect for pumping out a few low number upgrade sets.

Oh dear Emperor, no! A mere thought of metal upgrade bits for plastic models makes me shudder. Never again!

Buy better glue and learn to use it. I remember a mate having his hybrid plastic/metal bretonnians fall apart every single game we played because he never glued them together properly in the first place

Yeah, I never had issues with attachment. Ludicrously heavy heavy weapons making plastic models fall over all the time, maybe, but attachment? Not often.

Shoulder pad type things no issues.

Solid metal lascannon or plasma cannon? no thanks.

Never a problem attaching. Tons of problems when they hit the floor, which happens often enough with me...

on the forum. Obviously

Am I the only one who misses the metal models?
I mean, its still better than fine cast, right? And they have a nice weight to them.

That said, some of the larger models are just terrible. Like the Slaan or the Deff Dread, which have a nasty habit of falling over.

I wouldn't game there purely because the Forge World store is constantly staring at you and threatening your wallet.

Wow, nice spot, yep that's definately a new apothecary model! Looks like he has all the gear as the artwork apothecary. Now, I might be imagining things too, but those bulky dudes on the far right look like Inceptors - But not like inceptors, they are clearly walking. Possible Agressors?
