Thats cope. It was either whitefang or boole (pretty sure it was whitefang), but they explicitly said nothing is on the horizon within the next 2-3 years, that was about 6 months ago. Dont confuse me paraphrasing them with whatever arbitrary vaguery that fits your desired narrative.

I'd be amazed if GW just retires the Dark Elf army for 2-3 years. The hot time to sell old models is now and honestly most of that line is actually pretty new models, they ended Old World with a pretty darn good model range. Throw a new Morathi model at them; dig the old Witch Aelves and Cauldron out as classics and you've got a full faction ready to go.

Plus 2-3 years down the line I feel like the nostalgia will be wearing thin. By that point the game should have seen several big updates to current armies getting new models. At least if the game continues to sell well and be supported.

As a project to bring to market, The Old World was likely comparatively cheap, as there was little to no model design or mould tooling involved, because it was just “re-release all the existing models we retired a good while back”.

With every game system presumably expected to at least break even? TOW may have had a low hurdle to cross in that respect.

Now it’s seemingly taken off? As we see from Cathay, the confidence is there to invest in Spangly Shiny New. How much investment, only GW knows.

Not all Chaos Warriors are Norscan plus the lore still mentions their armor being Chaos Dwarf made.
