Stop bringing that up, it's not my fault that everyone else in the game had a bunch of pychers. I'd have taken you all on if I'd had the chance.

By the way my new guard army has a tank.

Still a WIP (still need a big plastic tube for the gun) but coming along nicely for an hours work. It's based on a 1/35 scale Cromwell, I've put it alongside a Razorback that's missing it's turret and a marine to show it's size. I reckon it's about right for a counts as Leman Russ.

So, who else has picked up the new rulebook? Thoughts?

The Warlord rule looks interesting.
AP4 for the Chaplains Crozarius has really narked me off.

Anyone else annoyed or loving some of the new rules?

Don't worry I'm sure the new codex when it arrives will probably ruin that for you.

I've gone and bought more 1/35 scale tank models for conversion. Got myself a Crusader which I intend to convert into a Hydra and a Mk1 Tank which will probably end up as some sort of super heavy.

Its a shame Hydras can now only snap fire at ground targets.

Indeed but 75pts isn't a bad points cost for something that can shred any flyer in the game.

Yeah I got mine yesterday, not got far into it yet as I only started looking late last night and i'm not skimming due to paranoia but most the changes seem reasonable so far.

I like snap fire, I like being able to pre measure, I like that i get to deside which order differnt Strength/AP weapons are resolved.

Had to re-read the wound allocation thing a couple of times and still not 100% sure I get it. Shooting goes as normal, saves are taken then wounds are allocated to the nearest models which is simple enough. The multiple armor values/cover saves confused me a little as it kind of sounds like you revert to the old method, who chooses which saves are taken or is it just the closest again.

yeah the wound alo was a bit confusing, but its really simple in game (ask wesker) it basically works in this order when you shoot a complex unit (multi wound or saves) shoot, wound

Now alocate to closest model, if has diferent save (and is not a character) it takes saves until its dead (so 1 at a time) as soon as its failed a save alocate to next model and rolls saves (all together if same, 1 at a time if diferent) until wound pool is empty

If character, take saves as above, if failed MAY roll look out sir to shove it off to another model in unit of his choice.

hope that helps

Spanky... wait till you get to the part about grenades and buildings... its obscene!!!

Think i'd just got to assault last night.

The different terrain types seems a little fantsy to me I can see them not getting used that much, but I haven't read them in full yet. Interested by mystery terrain but could see a to roll chart.

I got the cards but three were missing so have had to send them back, the side/power allocation is included so you don't need to buy a white dwarf like James said. I only had a quick read but I like the look of biomancy.

Can't figure out why guard don't get divination though, emperor tarot, but it's probably in the interest of balance. The Primaris Pysker got 100% better this edition.

Still think some of the Special rules are a little redundant, not read them all, but "torrent" really did the inferno cannon need a special rule name, it's just more stuff for me to to go "eeerrr what" about when people mention it

All in all my first edition change hasn't been as scary as I feared.

yo spanky, things like torrent for current codexs is odd, but when the new ones come out they can just go

I would but I am playing Dark Heresey on Monday.

Just escaped the red cages with the assistance of a bird faced man, I can nearly feel the taint trying to work it's way into my Brain already.

Luckily for me I'm not planning on using all of that lot in one go. Built a single test model so far planning on starting to paint it later today. Oh and that counts as Leman Russ I was working on is pretty much finished now, got a few holes to fill etc but it's nearly done.

So, out of curiousity, you guys play Gorkamorka, Necromunda, or that ever awesome combination, Gorkamunda, at all?

I remember Gorkamorka, that was awesome.

There were a few guys, myself included, interested in playing necromunda a while back, if someone organised it.
