lol she's not spare she's my lady with a Simulacrum Imperialis to go in my Ret Squad, she just needs unboxing and painting

Looks like Exorcists are winning so far, I'll be keeping a tally for a few weeks to see which is the most popular.

2 Exorcists
1 Red Scorpions
1 Necrons
1 Sons of Horus
1 Eldar
1 Snake bites
1 Slannesh Daemons
1 Mantis Warriors
1 Red Corsairs

I think break away from the more oft seen models and perhaps do Eldar, I mean they're getting a revamp in a a few short weeks and i'm sure a glut of Eldar models being painted up will kick start the old brain into wanting to do a great job on some lovely models! plus.... you have the paint for them lol :-)

failing the Eldar...... it's a no brainer, Celestial Awesomes!

As much as I'd like you to paint up some Exorcists, I think my vote would be for Snake Bites. They are, in my opinion, the coolest of the ork clans.

Today I was supposed to be sleeping as I worked yesterday and last night, but I had that painting bug so cracked out my brushes and paint and painted up my first Mantis Warrior for Git's competition. He was more of a test to start with but turned quite nice I think. I did some extra bits that I wouldn't have ever tried before like properly drilling gun barrels which I hate and I also painted the tactical symbol on the shoulder pad which was rather nerve racking as I'm no good at things like that. I also added some writing on his shoulder pad and leg in the top right pic but that's something I've done loads of times before.

I'm not sure if I'll have the whole squad finished in time which is why I only submitted the parts for one mini so more is a bonus in my eyes The end date for the comp is the same date I have to have the Havoc's painted for so they should take priority but I'm really proud of my MW and want to paint the others

You can click on the picture and zoom in for a better image in the gallery and vote if you want too

Thanks for the extra votes Joshh and mega for my next army project, the Exorcists are now well in the lead.

Mantis looks really good. Nice to see a grimy (or should that be grim-dark) look to a mantis warrior for a change.

I've yet to look through your blog yet, it's on the "to do" list. But nice painting from what I have seen.

Cheers Graven I'll look into that one as well.

I finished the Havoc squad today I didnt think it was worth doing individual shots as there not that exciting.

Now let me explain before you say but ones not finished

You see he's looking at his weapon and not where he's shooting, well if you could see his back you would see he has a red light on instead of green like the others, they just haven't told him yet they turned his pack off

I did a army shot for you as well today of my 1750 points worth for the tournament next month, it wont be winning best painted army as half of the army was the first lot of minis I painted back in 2011 and you can tell by the colour differences and painting style.

Next up for me is the rest of the Mantis Warrior squad, looking forward to that one.

There was also another vote for Mantis Warriors so my next project tally is looking like this at the moment.

4 Exorcists
3 Mantis Warriors
2 Eldar
2 Snake bites
2 Slannesh Daemons
2 Sons of Horus
2 Red Corsairs
1 Red Scorpions
1 Necrons
1 Celestial Lions

I've been looking into Mantis Warriors from a codex point of view and the Dark Angel one seems the best so far If I want to include some of the new FW stuff like the bikes with Plasma Guns. Also wondering what the new Eldar Wraith Knight would look like with all its jem's done properly hmmm.

NF09 has been giving me ideas for more Chaos stuff as well

Just remembered I've finished painting my very first piece of scenery, it was drying in the window. I'll take some pics when I see sunlight next, most likely next weekend.

Thanks NF09 I think I'm happy with the glow effect now, wasn't quite right on the first guy until I had a play with it.

The Heldetta is cool but My TSons are supposed to have their own Tzeentch version, maybe later when I visit them again in the future. I still have another Raptor squad and a Lord planned for these guys at some point.

Thanks Graven, yeah I never really got round to doing proper shots of the Heldetta. I think I'll do that when we get a good weekend again. It's a right pain trying to photo it though
