Anyone had any luck finding the Hyperspeed version of the Armadillo in the UK?

Everywhere I have looked either IRL or online has all of the others in the range but not that one. Is that vehicle a US only release or something?

Are you talking about the big one or the small one?

In the US the small brown one was a Target exclusive, and I think the big blue one was an Amazon exclusive.

Yeah, the small brown one. So it is US exclusive. Rats.

Only ever seen the Larger purple Armadillo in B&M over here, along with the other smaller ships.

I've got an extra, I picked up earlier on sale for 10 bucks. If you can stomach $10 plus what I'm sure are high shipping costs I'll mail it anywhere.

The bigger Armadillo now on general release, spotted for 30€ ish in the EU

Scrolling back I sadly prefer the Target exclusive one, a better fit for 28mm

Thanks for the generous offer, but I'll have to decline. The postage for stuff from the US (plus the almost guaranteed import charge which will also include a bogus £8.99 "handling fee" from the Royal Mail..) makes that $10 mount up far too quickly.

No worries,
It's open to anyone interested, though it's a narrow swathe of people for whom it would be worthwhile. Here in the states they're still quite cheap I think. I've just got alot of toy vehicles and this is one I probably don't need 2 (or was it 3...) of.

I keep watching this ship. If it goes on super sale after Christmas, I'll be getting one. It's the perfect thing for the Star Wars and Halo figures my son and I like.

It's on sale at B&M in the UK right now, but not quite low enough for me to want to buy it right away.

I've seen them in a Smyths toy store for £14.99 if that's lower than the B&M price.

I bring new treasures from the wilds of the interwebs!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PMT5W4Q/

First off a Rhino sized Republic Gunship/LAAT. Small for 28mm but maybe fugable. Will look great at 15mm.

https://www.amazon.com/Hiya-Toys-Robocop-Action-Figure/dp/B0865TB23H/ref=pd_bxgy_sccl_2/147-0520110-9112725

Ed 209, really tempted to make him an Adeptus Arbitus Knight.

https://www.amazon.com/Hiya-Toys-Robocop-RoboCain-Multicolor/dp/B09P4GX3NY/

And Robocop 2, AKA Robocain!

Damn. Where were these toys in 1991 when I would have killed for them?

If anyone is hunting for the small version of the Lightyear Armadillo there's a new version on Amazon.

$30, so more than the Target version but does come with lights and sounds and a nifty grabbing claw thing.

I love it when they print alternate language versions of things on packaging, and the alternate version is just the same as the English version. I mean, why bother?

For folks with a Walmart nearby, this just got price dropped to $15. We've Discussed this before, but for those wondering, the Nano Metalfigs figures supplied are about 34mm.

I imagine the good people at Playmobil know more than I do but...

https://www.amazon.com/Playmobil-James-Bond-Aston-Martin/dp/B096YJ6X62

I think the Ven Diagram of "People who buy $50 Playmobil cars" and "James Bond fans" is 2 circles about 10' apart.

Playmobil isn't the company that springs to mind when I think of toys aimed at adults but I'm not surprised by this and I bet the Venn diagram is larger than you think

I've read several different ways of crunching the numbers but it looks like at least 14% of the US toy market is those over 18 and it's been growing.
https://www.tfp.org/why-is-the-toy-market-targeting-adults/
Playmobil seems to be tentatively following the lead of LEGO who has been going gangbusters in this segment for over a decade.

Scale is much too big. Look at Wargames Exclusive or die cast toy limos.

Oh I don't doubt that adults buy toys.

It's just that when I think of the elegance and posh of James Bond, Playmobil is not the brand that comes to mind.

There's a couple of 1/38 scale toys on Amazon. Still a bit big but fungible.

If the intention is to build it into a cult Limo, 1/38 or even larger of probably what you want.

The Aston Martin is not a large car. I've got a 1/48 that I picked up years ago and it's quite small

Playmobil can be a nice starting point for terrain

I've got a bunch of the plastic desert rocks I textured and painted and they've been in use for over a decade. I keep seeing the gladiator arena in pop up on people's tables. Also I've got the pirate island without any other parts in the garage awaiting use someday...
