An Outhouse, made of brick. It's an American Expression that refers to a "well built woman". Before indoor plumbing was common, people dug a hole and built a shack around it for a bathroom (usually made of wood). During the Great Depression, one of the common New Deal projects put people to work building outhouses made of brick. -This is where the expression came from. Since then, it has come to mean a compliment

Yes, except it has different meaning in different places

I can barely imagine that being a compliment. But I guess you have to think like a 1930's rube. Seeing an outhouse made of brick must have seemed to wondrous thing back then. lol

In the UK, built like a brick gakhouse means someone who is incredibly big and muscly.

I thought it was a reference to The Commodores song Brick House... you know.. " She's a brick house she's mighty mighty just lettin' it all hang out!" Did I just show my age??? Plus if you have ever had to dig a "Cat Hole" while in the field while surrounded by 60 of your closest buddies, angry NCO's and Officers you learn to appreciate the comforts of a brick house...

That's where the Commodores song comes from though. Built like a brick "gak"-house, is slang for an incredibly good looking woman, usually stacked.

pretty sure that would get you slapped in the UK. As Vit says we use it to mean big/muscled/solid-looking which is not a compliment you usually want to pay a woman.

Yeah, it's not really used a lot around here anymore. I think it was more of a 70's thing. About the time the song came out.

Great work in here. Love the newest building. those DPM kits are really great. I couldn't find the products listed on their website though.

Your scale graffiti is really good !! Do you do scale color posters too like some terrain enthusiast? (like propaganda ones etc.) (obey posters seem to be common in 40k terrain for whatever reason, maybe its just the only stuff I happen to recognize that isn't centered in 40k universe) ( Figured the graffiti would look awfully cool over posters of opposing factions/ideology)

Thank you for telling us how you do it (outline with sharpie then paint to fill in or w/e) I was going to do my ork grafitti all by brush, but it helps knowing I can have a good end result by starting with a sharpie outline.

Keep it up mate!!!

There is no review Deadline on this one...the answer: when it's done

Naa, I used my new belt/disc sander to make a stack of blank inserts for the windows. It's really cool, I just cut a stack of rectangles of plasticard, hit them on the end, which slightly melted the end plastic together, then formed the curves. I'm experimenting with ideas for stuff to glue onto them. I also need to shave 18 MOAR skulls off of CoD panels and bitz, or do something different on the second storey.

I'm making a huge mess, but little progress.

Hey Skifi! Thanks man! Yeah, it's a great tool, it's glossy at first, but all graffiti should be weathered anyways. I'm always happy to explain anything I can.

Ian, one of the 3rd party people have an easy wheeled Chimera mod kit. Chapterhouse does one.

I have to modify that, the damn door ended up too tall, the whole damn building is too tall, and I screwed up the buttresses. I'll finish it later. I'm just not happy with it. For every good idea, I'm bound to have 16 bad ones

You could always make bars to go over the windows too. Maybe take some of the Chaos spike railings and glue one or two together to get the height and width needed. Obviously cutting off the helmets/skulls/heads impaled and just using the spindals. Just a thought.

I see where you're going with the brick. I could probably take pictures now of old cotton mills with those giant long windows bricked up when they all added AC units in the eighties. I like the brick, but for nostalgia's sake. There are some good suggestions from others here also.

Brick.
