the turret is coool , love the decorations and twin guns. i think post box style eye lookout points would rectify the visibility lssue , and possibly add something to the space between the arches.

thanks neil, i´ve done postbox eyeslits on the sponsons... and maybe i stuff the landingramp idea in order to instal another bolter and a lookout to the fron... but the periscope idea sounds more win to me than another slit for sight ... also i dont really understand where exactly those should be located?

i made an ok looking periscope...pics tomorrow...and i am currently working still on the stubber...work isn´t flowing ...or in another describing... have to get new barrels on the stubber... as i am using a stombolter from th SM tankkit, should i do a double barreld one or a singlebarrel stubber?

wireless internet for laptops etc. The periscope will suit the style of the tank and is a really nice touch . I vote for twin barrels , as they always look awesome.

I think it'd be great to have a spotter on top shouting down through one of those sound tubes they had on old steamships. You know, the "Engine Room, Full Ahead!" things? That might just be me, though.

aye, a telescope or periscope would serve well.
If it was me the temptation would be too much and I'd ruin it by painting cartoon eyes looking out of it

at chibi, fristly i thought i need a gunner at the hatch... someone directly operating the machinegun i am currently building...which i am afraid will not include airholes but will have the dubblebarrellook^^ then you and anvildude gang up on me and tempt me witha screaming spotter...hmmm...this then has to be a sarge of course as only a sarge would have the lungs to be a good screamer^^...*rumages around in his bitzbox...*

and at shrike last but not least...the periscope for times when no spotter can be used (gaswar and such things...) has indeed something that might look like an eye...i used the small ball from inkcartridges you use for pens...that tine ball that gets shoved in the cartridge...well these i am talking about:



that could be painted as an eye...this would surely look tremendusly funny but might indeed ruin the model...hmmmm...what to do....^^

hm, maybe make a proper, serious one and then a jokey one and see if the joke one ruins the model?

The tank commander would be the chap to operate the machine gun Vik (unless he has a sword! )

So you could have him at the mg and still have the pipes and scope to make the turret look busy with gizmos.

Personally think the comedy eye would ruin the effect.
but cartoony stuff would work if it was on the tank, like they used to paint pics, though more usually known as nose art on aircraft

Im not sure of the scale of the cannon but any way those ink cartridges could be used as empty shells? Really looking forward to the finished product on this one!

The details are looking cool vik , i like the eldar guns as twin turrets, what about using rolled up paper for a cone and atatching wire for the speaking tube , they were very simple after all.

the ink cartrideges are atm only for the ball inside them to be used as very small details... tho i too thought about someday to use them for shells of a basilisk scratchuilt... with an apropriate scalewise fitting barrel of course...^^

For a few examples of the way the speaker was made to look, some even more flower like!

If you wanted, could get a small glass bead, paint an 'eye' on one side, then put that side on the inside of the periscope... so it looks like an eye looking out through it, more realistically.
