Update:
Making constant progress on Hope. Couple of small design changes, not finished yet, but I'm slowly getting a better idea of the final details. Pictures soon.

If this thread becomes a bulletin board, it's just because of all the awesome stuff Baiyuan does, people just want to be a part of it.

Knowing what he has done in the past, I am sure Hope will blow us all away. Even with the rediculously high expectaions we all have. No pressure.

Boy, is that weight lifted! The thing is, ever since deciding to make my peace with the teeth I have hardly wasted another thought on it and instead have been quite productive. You can be the biggest smartypants, just like me and think you know it all, but you never stop learning things about yourself.

Look around on youtube, there is a version with a really bad translation somewhere. Basicly she raps about the year 1977, when she was born, how she was raised, events of that year, her philosophy and so on.

Update:

I've been a good bai recently, stopped playing ME3 (it's just a temporary relief, in two weeks the world will end) and worked on my projects instead.

I've worked on some of my hexbuilder buildings, but with very little success, just built two bridges. I'll have to whip out that old bag of sprues and clip out more connectors, I've used up all the others.

But most of all I've made progress on Hope. Still nowhere near finished, but progress is progress.

I'm looking forward to finishing this particular project and I hope my next one will not be such a giant effort. Assuming I also have to finish the base and that it will take me another month or two to paint it, I'd say I'll have it all finished by septembre, which would mean it took me a year on and off the project to finish it. Anyone in for a new PMW in Septembre?

Making progress (though it's hard to see how much since you enjoy making us squirm ).

I'm not a fan of the stegasaurus tail. I don't remember if there is a fluffy reason to have it, but I'd rather see a more standard looking tail (if bionic, genetically engineered canines can be "standard" )

A year for a project isn't that bad. It's something I fully expect to experience the same thing too, after the 15th of course.

Another PMW you say? Hmm......

I'm not doing it on purpose, I'm just teasing you that badly, because I don't have that much to show you. If progress wasn't that slow I'd happily show you more.

Yep, those tubes/cables go into his private parts.

There is no special reason for the tail, but the idea came up during the conversion and I'm quite fond of it, for two reasons:
It fits perfectly into the scenery as the tail is reaching back through the door and goes around the corner, so it makes the scene come together more nicely and has that 3D touch.
The second reason is that imo such a tail, which is technically a power weapon, makes a nice addition to Hope's weaponry. Initially I had a slightly bigger, but round mace-head in mind, but it didn't look right. I also tried an assortment of blades, but decided this version looked best. Wait till you see it in total, Hope really doesn't look like a dog, if you still don't find it fitting then, maybe it's a matter of taste.

Update:

Had another two hours to work on Hope.

After having lots of trouble figuring out what to do with top of Hope's neck and head during the past few weeks, I decided to remove the cap of the skull (both the actual head and the armor I had sculpted on top of it) to make room for a new design element. That means all that's left of the head I used as base are the eyes. The gap on the head will now be covered by an implanted ring, that surrounds a bare part of Hope's skull and connects to a multitude of cables and tubes.

Also drilled open the last 8 vials/pods and stuck them on wire, so that I can place them more easily, once the neck and the shoulder armor are done.

Sounds like your making good progress though, if it tuns out anything like samarianne ? it will be time well spent. ;-)

That's what I thought too. Plus it adds a certain subtle comic relief to the final scene, which will be very grim if I succeed.
