Thanks guys, been having a hard time keeping motivated on the Ultramarines so after a few days of non hobby stuff I found a spruce of pox walkers. After building priming and some dry brushing I dug out the contrast paints. This is what I have come up with so far. These will bring up the walker count to 40.
Thanks for looking.

. Love that quote about palette cleanser.
Here’s the messy mob finished. Do you guys think a little bit of vegetation on a few of them is in order? I included a pic of some of the Deathguard I did when 8th came out.
Again thanks for looking.

Ugly! I wouldn’t get too close to them, but a bit of vegetation wouldn’t hurt to tie them in to the death guard. I like how you painted a few of the cracked bits as stones, helps sell a real environment better

Now those are some sick (in every sense of the word) Poxwalkers. And I gotta second gobert, a bit vegetation on their bases would unify them and the marines.

They are the most colorful of all the pox walkers I’ve painted so far. I did add some tufts to the lot.

Here I a couple of (poor) pictures of the walkers and a few shots of the lot together. 40 so far, do I need more?

. Thanks Theo! What’s not to love about Papa Nurgles minions.
Forced myself to sit down and finish the last 5 of the Assault Intercessor squad, I think it’s been a month since starting them. As there bases were drying I grabbed the new Captain and started on him.
Again thanks for checking in.

Always nice to finish a unit and captain is coming along great, very nice shield. Regarding the face, I always work inside out in such cases. So I would do the skin, try to do eyes (although in the end may just do some dark wash) and then veeeeeery carefully do the parts around the skin.

Looking good so far. As for the Face I’d probably get in there early, which isn’t much help right now! . As it’s quite recessed you might be able to get away with a quick base and a wash to show him in the shadow almost, maybe a bit of Agrax if you want to accentuate the shade. Then touch up with the base colour again? Better advice would be to not listen to me as I struggle with skin tones too, so I’ll be trying the contrast skin tones on my next lot!

For such a small, enclosed area, Contrast might not be a bad idea. Get some light base coat in there, follow up with a dash of Gulliman's. Little dark wash around the eye sockets. Ready for action.
