Bah, my street cred! It is Super Bass-O-Matic 76!
http://www.hulu.com/watch/19046/saturday-night-live-bassomatic
For some reason I always remember it as Bass Master 2000... I guess as a result of growing up in the 80's where the year 2000 was the obvious point where we would have flying cars, so everything was named that it seemed.
Actually... a dread with magnetic grappler with a fishing game built into his back would be awesome... Give you something to do when your opponent is playing Slowhammer. Or even just model him with a high tech fishing rod in his hands... aww man....
I am counting carbs on packages, not converting to bread. That sounds a little depressing, since 20 grams of net carbs is like 2 slices. Shopping with my friend yesterday who just moved to the area was kind of sad.
"Oh man, Hammer, have you ever had these!?"
"Nope... pretty good?"
"Oh my god yes! We should get them and... oh... right. You can't. *sigh*"
Poor guy, he even had some Toll-House cookies ready to throw in the oven for when I got there.
I am around ~12st 7 now, down from about 13 5 or 14... though I think I just dropped a stone trying to do that math in my head... I figure that's about all I am going to get, since that is what I weighed in college when I was working out pretty regularly, but I am hoping I might get rid of the little love handles I have had forever. I think though I am going to find they are in fact alien parasites, as those bastards never go ANYWHERE.
I sympathize with the small issue though. One of my best friends in college was a 4'10" girl, and after a weekend of drinking she would wail about her looks. Apparently 4-5 beers would make her gain a dress size.
Anyway, the models seem to be coming along well! I like the pale strawberry red on the Jokarangutan. Are you going to darken it a bit, or try and lighten the eyes to sort of even out the saturation? I always struggle with that a bit, wanting to do some dull, more washed out painting, but only ever managing it with doing super thin glazes over greys, which of course are shot the first time you don't thin enough.

Ahhh yes! I know what you mean now, delicious Bass smoothies! Mmm.

A Dread with a fishing rod would be brilliant, and pretty easy to do I guess. Stick and string is not too hard to miniaturise I was lucky that my BF did the same diet with me or I would have fallen off the wagon near instantly. If he was drinking beer and and eating biscuits and toast and all those delicious things, I would in no way have the willpower to not eat them. I'm 4 11 myself so in the same boat, if I gain a pound it looks like half a stone, it's really ridiculous and extremely frustrating.

I completely dropped the ball with the Jokero, thats not mine, its an image I googled to show what model I meant D: Sorry, I should have said so, noting it now.

Big boy is getting there, going to finish the maroon, give it a badab wash, then wash the silver with devlin and highlight it. May add highlights to the maroon but it will be very sparingly I think.

It could have worked out as nice marble all right, but I wanted to stick with the "official" scheme for Menoth as he is more likely to sell that way ><

He is all finished now, here we go! Will put him on Ebay in a bit.

I think I did a decent job of sticking to the Menoth scheme, while dirtying him up a little. I like that from the back, he is mostly metal

Nothing is a sure thing on Ebay. It all depends on whether the right buyer(s) find the right seller with the desired good.

Looking at your three current auctions on Ebay, Ifalna, you might cast a wider net by including the game (Warmachine, 40K) and the Army type (Menoth, Dark Eldar) in the name of the auction. You already have the word "painted" so that's all to the good.

Some buyers don't try a lot of search criteria but when they want painted miniatures for a specific army and/or game, they use the term "painted" and the game or army name. That weeds out all of the unpainted minis and odd things from other games, movies, or books.

I'm surprised that Lillitha and the Wyches haven't sold at the new prices, especially given the low postage fees, but your naming conventions may be part of the problem.

If I use my standard search criteria (model name, game, painted), your Lelith doesn't show up because you don't include the game name (40K in this case) in your auction name.

Warjack: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220934410255

Just a point of view from a regular Ebay searcher. I haven't bought a lot of painted 40K minis there (a squad of Orks, a squad of Stormtroopers, and a platoon of FOW German infantry) but I look a lot. Using all three of my standard criteria gives me 15-90 results vice the 2,000 I get if I just use an army name and game name. I'm willing to sift through 2-3 pages of auctions but not 20 pages.

The other thing that puts me off a bit is the high starting price. Now, if those were "buy it now" prices I wouldn't have an issue, even if the prices were a bit higher, but in an auction there's the potential for a lot of upward movement. I think that having an auction with too high a starting bid price puts people off, at least it does me, so I never make that first bid. I may be willing to bid that high or beyond eventually... but to start that high is something I usually won't do.

Now, like most bidders I'm looking for a deal. As the seller you're looking for a fair price for your work, so I understand the higher price. However, auctions are a game of emotion and ego... and too high a starting price doesn't let either of those come into play. In which case, I think your better off just naming the price you want for it and listing it as a buy-it-now opportunity.

Ebay advice from awesome people

Ok I have just woken up and have my brain is still booting, but there is some good stuff here. I am going to go alter the search criteria on the listings and make sure they are showing correctly. Gits, pricing is bloody hard. The reason they are up for auction and not Buy out is I never seem to get Buy out sales. If I put them up for the same price at Auction, people tend to snipe a bid at the last second. It is really, really weird and I don't know why people do it to be honest, if these don't sell I will re put them up as buy now and we will see how it goes.

Today is Jokero and angry Gob by the way, once I have had morning Coffee and coughs up on my oh so important list of nerdy fan blog tumblrs I have to read every day.

Yeah you defiantly need to change your auction titles as JB says to include the key words for the items you are selling.

I always do

Game (WH40k/WFB/Warmachine etc)
unit/character name
Army
Painted

You should be able to change them now while the auctions are live.

I have tried to alter the Auction tiltles on Lel and the Eldar, but the option isint available, it must be due to them ending v shortly? Maybe some way to prevent an odd scam of some sort, hmm.

Todays painting expectation has been blown out of the water due to having spent 3, no joke, 3 hours trying to assemble a tiny metal Goblin. I've not had this problem with AoW mini's before, but it just will not take the supreglue. Even overnight, everything fell off immediately the next morning, and no part of it is thick enough to pin.

I've washed it, Ive removed each failed layer of glue and started from scratch, nothing is working. Dents in my thumbs from holding the spikey !*&* together are killing me, there is much fury happening. I will have to resort to using GS coupled with superglue if this doesnt work, I'm watching it on my desk right now, it is getting ready to explode again. I know it is.

I've not heard of exploding goblin syndrome before, very strange for a metal model not to take superglue.

The threat of doing so has whipped him into shape.( That and washing, removing all glue traces, fileing, rescoring, and managing to pin those tiny, tiny arms)

The drunken little snot will be primed tomorrow. Letting him settle overnight.

Jokero no1 is about completed bar some tiny fur highlights and glow effects on his machines.

I think I managed to bypass the horrible googly eyes so many of these are painted with by giving him proper Ape eyes, huge black irises and dark sclera. His fur has some more depth to it than what is being shown here, but he is pretty cute for tabletop

Wow, the eyes on that are really excellent! The come across as very intelligent and gentle. Almost like he is saying "I'm sorry, this is just going to hurt for a second..."

My cat gives me that look when he pats my face to get me out of bed in the morning. Though with him it more comes across as "Why so serious?" With all that implies.

Also, ever try getting a micro-soldering iron (the type used for circuit boards) and using that to affix tiny model parts together? I am constantly tempted to try that with Rackham models, but generally I am too out of sorts after wrestling with them for so long I turn to fire for help to go out and get one, and the only electrical engineer I know is a total bitch and doesn't own one. So, thanks for that, Jin!

Wow, that Jokero looks fantastic! I will have to resist an urge to give it a name. His intent soulful gaze tells me that he already has a name anyway and doesn't particularly care to waste any effort or attention on my attempts at nicknames. He's got more important things to focus on. Some of which seems to be doing the bit from the Kids in the Hall (a Canadian sketch comedy troupe) where he is "crushing" someone's head (using forced perspective or maybe for real in 40K).

Cheers dude! The grey skin was super simple really, chaos black with a touch of white as the base layer, then 2 highlight layers using a little more skull white each time. Painted on little stretch lines on the mouth as Orangutans don't have pitch black skin, and it helped emphasise it

These dudes are supposdly mechanics and engineers, I think they would be a bit less alarming looking if they were holding some kind of tool instead of just... making a probing gesture. Their eyes do help to calm the horror however. You are lucky your cat pats your face to wake you up, mine demand to get under the duvet by taking turns shouting in my ear and slapping my head until I give in :(

God, Jin, what a loser! ;D
That could very well work, might be worth testing out. My Dad is a builder who specialises in working with Victorian windows and glass installation, he works with Aluminium a lot and has lots of cool tools laying around, I bet he has a mini solderer somewhere. I will totally bring down a spare metal mini next time I visit and see how it reacts.

You should totally give him a name. I think he has such a soulful gaze because he has seen the horrors that consist of my bedroom/new painting area. Many fellow miniatures in various states of dismemberment. He may have even glanced some of the terrible fanfiction I read while at my desk, and it has given him some form of Post traumatic stress syndrome.

I am sure he will recover however, as he now has a slightly more upbeat friend who enjoys doing Ape things, like touching his bottom. He will cheer up now for sure.

His friend is based on a White faced Gibbon, because as Jb mentioned, 2 orangutans with the exact same model would just look dodgy. His skin tone is much darker but he has an awesome little white mask to make up for it. I am going to put an extra layer of sand on the bases once this one dries fully to break up the bump in the center from the mini's metal bases, and just make it a bit less bland. Throw some nice bigger grains in there

I am technically on my weekend now, but I will likely get some more painting done as I don't want to break the roll I am on! Want to take some more detailed shots of the Wyches and repost them using the advice awesome chaps gave me earlier <3
