Yes, picked it up at GD : Uk, along with the GM kit.

Only had a quick flick through so far -- been busy with Outcast Dead, Nocturne etc etc .. and this thrice damned "work" thing... whose idea was that !?! .. so haven't had a thorough read but what I have seen I like. A lot.

Can't be. The FFG website is still showcasing Hostile Acquisitions (which is the next release), and the last time there was a mention of Fallen Suns was the preview exactly one month ago.

Either he's yanking our chain, or he's slightly confused about what he got.

Check your facts, you'll see it's shipping.

A few 'Eldar-y' things inside include ...
  • Doom, Guide and Mindwar psychic powers

  • Rules for Spirit Stones, Ghosthelms and Runes of Warding

  • Wraithcannon, Deathspinners, Avenger Shuriken Catapult

  • Warp Jump Generator

  • Aspect Armor, Exarch Armor

  • The Whisper of Anaris & Crow Spirit Cruiser (ships)

  • So check it out.

I DID check my facts. Which is why I knew that the last time FFG mentioned the product was in their preview on August 29th (note that, as I pointed out, that's exactly one month prior to my previous post). There's nothing in FFG's Rogue Trader section to indicate that it has shipped, and the most recent updates have been for Hostile Acquisitions. If it's shipping, then it's a stealth shipment on FFG's part because they haven't bothered to announce it.

“These foul reaches are the misbegotten creation of heretical agents. We shall journey through them and overcome the horrid beasts that begot them. For the noble light of the God-Emperor must be shined into the darkest of places to cleanse their taint.”
–Rogue Trader and Inquisitor Kobras Aquairre

A powerful force has awakened from its slumber somewhere deep within the Hecaton Rifts, and if left unchecked it will spell certain doom for the denizens of nearby sectors. As this ancient evil threatens to destroy both the Koronos Expanse and the Calixis Sector, can you and your fellow Explorers learn the truth of its mysterious origins?

Fallen Suns, the third and final instalment in The Warpstorm Trilogy for Rogue Trader, is now on sale at your local retailer and on our webstore! A lost Eldar Craftworld has begun a dark voyage of death and disaster, and only the Rogue Traders of the Koronus Expanse stand in the way of its rampage. Journey into a perilous realm of madness and ancient hate; from Footfall to the Serpent’s Cradle and beyond, you must make common cause with allies old and new if they are to survive. The fate of the Koronus Expanse hangs in the balance!

Fallen Suns can be played as a standalone adventure, or as part of the gripping series of adventures that began with the events of The Frozen Reaches and continued through Citadel of Skulls.

    The Thrilling Climax

In The Frozen Reaches, you and your fellow Explorers assisted the beleaguered world of Damaris in its fight against the Ork Warlord Snokgritz (an attack that suggested far darker forces at work). Then, in Citadel of Skulls, your hunt for answers brought you to the world of an infamous Chaos-blessed pirate lord. In Fallen Suns, these ominous events will culminate in an adventure that will shape the future of the Koronus Expanse.

The heretic fleet of the Faceless Lord seeks to claim the Craftworld’s power...can you survive the exciting conclusion to The Warpstorm Trilogy? Head to your local retailer and pick up your copy of Fallen Suns today!

I think it would be a bit more accurate to say that FFG was slow getting its announcement up. As I said, I checked FFG's Rogue Trader section yesterday. And I also checked it again today about the same time that I put my last post up. There was nothing on the website about the book going on sale.

In any event, I've now seen it myself, as my local store has it on the shelf.

So your store has it... but I still don't have my copy even though my name's in the credits. That's frustrating (yeah, there's more do it than that, but whatever...).

I wonder if John got his copy already... hmm...

The UPCOMING section of FFG's site is where I look first. The various brand sections are slower to reflect title updates. Even then I've had a couple of surprises hit the shelves this year where they went from On the Boat to In Stores Now in a heartbeat.

Not having quick reply is really fething annoying.

    Anyway,

My copy of Citadel of Skulls that I ordered ages ago is on its way after all this time. Now I'll finally have a little context for Fallen Suns, which was a lot of fun to read, but I hate doing things out of order.

Just asked this in the review thread but here seems appropriate too (and has more traffic)...

For those with the book, can you guys go over the mechanical changes to the general system compared to Deathwatch (the previous most recent version and the first one with marines). I had heard that full and semi auto fire no longer gives you bonuses and that close combat now grants multiple attacks based on your roll (extra attack for every 20 points under threshold or something?). DW needs some tweaking IMHO and I'm curious to see what the next marine containing game evolved into.

Sort of correct. The way attacks are handled as been changed to be consistent between shooting and melee. What you end up with is:

Standard Attack (Ranged & Melee) = 1/2 Action, +10 To Hit.
Semi-Auto/Swift Attack = 1/2 Action, +0 To Hit, for every 2 DOS after the first you get another hit (up to weapon's maximum rate of fire/up to wielder's WS bonus).
Full-Auto/Lightning Attack = 1/2 Action, -10 To Hit, for every DOS after the first you get another hit (up to weapon's maximum rate of fire/up to wielder's WS bonus).

    It works wonderfully well.

Kid_Kyoto wrote:Hey does anyone know if BC has a d1000 mutation table ala the old chaos books?

No D1000 tables, but it does have several D100 tables, one for standard mutations and then four more for more God-specific mutations.

Katie Drake wrote:Anyone even half as excited as me for First Founding? I love the idea of even more Chapters being given rules.

Just to be the odd one out, no, I'm not excited about that book.

Miss Dee wrote:How come there is no zerkers in the book I wonder?

Because not all Khornate Marines are Berzerkers, and because a Core Rulebook has to present the most general options available. I'm certain that latter books will give us Cult Troop Archetypes and other such things.
