You know, I sometimes wonder what it would be like if Luna and Gwar! were to have a child. Not a biological child, of course, since they are both actually just incorporeal spirits that are trapped in the internet and can only communicate with us via dakka (or skype). No, I mean some sort of artificial intelligence along the same lines as them. It would be like having our very own Void Dragon.

Well, about 6 months ago Dakka switched from a 40k discussion forum to an exercise in placating Gwar's ego.

I mean, I'm assuming that's why the Mods work 24/7 to make sure nobody ever says anything remotely mean to or about him, while ignoring his constant arrogance and flamebait.

It's like the Truman Show, only we're all part of the crew.

Vote for whatever causes the strongest response in you. For example, some people may have a strong response to Legoburner's making DakkaDakka have great software, while others are overwhelmed by Gwar's horribleness.

Maybe Dakka gets paid for every post gwar makes? Even if it's just one cent per post, 50 cents to a dollar a day is pretty decent.

Your kidding right? Have you seen the one sided dictatorship of a joke that YMDC has become? You know its bad when DCM's and even regular folk across the forum say that they wont visit the thread due to certain people.

What makes more sense:

A few dozen people across the forum in multiple threads decide out of the blue that they will pick on somebody cause they have nothing better to do?

OR

Said person openly admits to deliberately trolling the forum, spammed, and flame baited/argued his way across the forum and people are sick and tired of his antics thus bringing all this down upon his own head?

Hmmm.......

Well, he's not right 100% of the time, but one thing I've noticed is that someone will say something that does not jive with the rules in YMDC. Gwar will come in and say how the rules actually are. The first poster will say that Gwar is rude, and a troll, and that he's the reason that nobody goes into YMDC any more. I find that my opinion is usually pretty well received on YMDC, and that's because I actually follow the tenets of YMDC, and most of the time I have solid grounding in the rules for the posts that I write. It's the people who come into YMDC and post nonsense that's not based on the rules that claim that YMDC has a hostile atmosphere.
