I get no such comments from my girlfriend. She does seem overly interested in my collection of over 40 Dark Eldar Wyches (scantily dressed women) I think she's still shocked that they get sold to kids lol

That's not as bad as my Dad, who refers to them as '28mm of overpriced nerdy junk'.
He agrees that the tanks are cool however.

You asked for it.
Parents insulting the hobby is the wargamers equivalent to a 9/11 event. The results are catastrophic, resulting in some young gamers giving up the hobby to remain "normal" in the eyes of their elders. In short, it is like a good kick in the nads.
(Maybe a slight over-reaction)

Anyways, I hate people who take ten years to set up and ten more to put away their pieces when they finish up, so I can't end up having a fething game!

Oh hell yeah, I hate it when FAACers get all bitchy about tournaments, especially when they sign up for them and wonder why they do crap with their all radical daemonhunters army.
As for the fantasy one that one really burns my ass, I tried to get back into fantasy and its like playing 40k with your hands tied to your nards. Its like an excercise in stupidity when I have to paint 20 models to gain rank bonuses when only 5 do anything, then you lose combat and loose all 20 anyway, that and its all about who has the better deathstar. Regardless after seeing the "deep tactics" (aka the level I have to sink to) in order to win I said no thanks. I'd rather play war of the ring over fantasy any day and I ing hate LotR.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

#3 What gives you the right to laugh you dill weed I am nearly 30 and I can make my own choices without needing the approval of the playground.

That's what I can't stand about people who diss Warhammer. Yes, we're 20 (30) or even 40 plus year olds who paint small plastic and metal figures and play roleplay games with them.
But is the fact we're teenagers or older mean we should stop?

Mental stimulation, artistic ability, vocabulary, reading, social interaction and expansion of the imagination.
I am a 33yr old man, happily married and in a well paid job.
What feths me off is the comments like the one above and others who do jack-gak with their own lives and then think they can look down on our hobby, people who do nothing but 'watch football' (paint drying) or 'jog' (run round in circles moar!!1!). These same people who are stood in my office right now having intent conversations about who's going to win X Factor or whether or not Brad and Angelina are going to break up. The dislike of our hobby usually stems from an inability to understand it. So, stupid people don't get wargaming.

So , so true . I enjoy this hobby it encorporates so much I like in one neat tidy package. I like art , so painting my minis or even drawing stuff , I get so much inspiration from 40k. I like war stuff , sci-fi/fanatasy anything with an interesting sotry line and playing games. I really hate people idea that if you arnt "normal" ,they theres something up with you .But its the total oposite , these peopel lead boring lives and just do average things. Reallly the weaks ones are there to justify the strong

Urgh, I hate this too. Playing at my local hobby shop with a buddy, we are newish to the game so are still unsure about some of the rules, so we were looking up a rule when a parent came over to the table and started picking up our stuff to look at as if it were for sale. There's also a couple of younger players that own a mish mash of figures from pretty much all the 40k armies and are always using the demo stuff that the owner uses to teach new players, in one afternoon they must of broke about 10 orks, the owner was not best pleased

So fething true. Wanna know how stupid people are? Well, I'll tell you about one woman. She first thought I was an employee, and I was like .__.
Then, after I said no, she came up to me and asked how many termagaunts are in a package, EVEN THOUGH IT FETHING SAYS ON THE BACK!!!
It was twelve, and I lost about 1,000 brain cells.
Little kids love to touch whatever the little s can get their hands on. Which just so happens to be my miniatures. And if that isn't enough, people constantly interrupt my games to ask stupid questions about the hobby. It blows my mind how dumb people are. She must felt you looked professional , so thats a good thing!
If they ask you about the hobby constantly , that means they look up to you as some sort of role model. can be a good thing as well!
If you smile at them and tell them to wait after the game , im sure everything will be fine.

Maybe you should calm the hell down. Perhaps someone was trying to buy a gift or something for a gamer friend/relative. God forbid you have a normal interaction with another human being, who maybe doesn't know exactly where it says on the back of a box of gaunts how many models are contained.
Way to blow apart stereotypes of gamers as antisocial weirdos...

You realise that there are less than 7,000,000,000 people worldwide right? Looks like you're not quite top of the intellectual heap yourself, champ
I've had people I regard as pretty thick call me a sad b-----d for playing warhammer, but in the end I can get over it, I'm not too fussed over their opinions (still stings a bit when attractive women give me crap over it, though)
