So I finished painting the fleshy part of the hive, and then inked it tonight.

I'll probably paint the chitin next week and then focus on the base and the corpse after that.

That was exactly what I had in mind, giant squirming tentacles in heaps...glistening in the light of a weak an flickering torchlight...and the noise is all around you...and you think about millions of little sharp terrier mouth for no apparent reasons...gnawing on already pale bones...

Not to mention, I'm gonna hafta write a short horror fic given the coming season.

So, let's talk a little tactics. I'm thinking heavy gunline for my guard army. I wanna take an Aegis and drop two full platoons behind it. I figure with enough shooting, FRF!SRF!, overwatch, and charging through the aegis, anything that gets into melee deserves to slaughter my guard.

Thoughts?

Oh, my, gawd I've updated on time. Truly these are the end times!

ANYWAY, I have two different things to show you tonight.

BEHOLD! My terrain piece.



I'm very nearly done, just a few things to do here and there. Look, the corpse stands out now. Don't worry Vik, he didn't suffer too terribly. (More Nightmare Fuel For YOU!)





And, I painted the chitin plates.





Next, I have something special for you. I may or may not have (I totally did) joined Comrade and Ruglud's Badass Competition.

So, my loyal followers might remember this guy.





Well, I finally got the proper arm I wanted for him.





And, well, since the point of the competition is to make a badass, he clearly needed some foe that he over came. So how about the thing all guardsmen TRULY fear? A complete close combat enemy.



So, I assembled the little dude and bent his limbs to better make him look... well.... dead.



I even bent the tongue to match the pose.



Then, with a quick arm swap on my Badass (working name is Papa), I posed them in the intended final pose.



Looking pretty badass if I do say so myself. With the post finalized, it was time to paint. And this is as far as I got this evening.

I'm not sure what heavy weapon team you're referring to, but probably not. This blog represents everything I've done so far.

Bama, Bashem and Vik are awol. I think this means I have free reign to build them into my army as mindless servitors to do my every bidding!

Hello Everybody, my name is xXWeaponPrimeXx and welcome back to my P&M Blog!

It looks like I'm back to my old ways of not getting updates done on time, however, in an effort to regain some of my lost fans, I hereby shift all the blame on to NashBashem! SHAME ON YOU!!!

And if that doesn't work, its totally GTA V's fault. (Such a good game.)

So, I was looking at my little Badass entry, and I noticed that the gaunt had no cause of death.

Fixed that.




Then, I went on to paint it.



(Please note I have touched it up since this picture was taken.)



Then I started on the guard's uniform.







I had originally thought about painting it light green and goblin green, but they looked too similar, so I made it light green and balor brown instead.



I also repositioned the head. I didn't want him looking at the body like he was surprised he lived. I wanted him looking off in the distance as if to say "Who's next?"





The big diorama piece is pretty much done still. I just need to base it and add minute details here or there.

your terrain piece looks truly awesome... i am not that big a fan for bugs but this is truly a proof why there are so many working with bugs... it has awesome terrain possibilities!

And the gaunt tongue was already there, I just bent it down limp like the limbs and tail. If it were laying there rigid it would've looked really odd.

And nids are fun. But much like Guard and orks, they hurt the wallet to play. You need so many.
