Subject: Re:The spectacular hobby blog! (PRE HERESY DEATH GUARD!)
Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a merry Christmas holidays. Here's some badass Christmas music.
Now... to the business of hobbying... I pretty much have ALL of my wargaming projects finished and done. So now, with nothing to work on or paint, I have been feeling a bit lost. I decided that a good thing to do, while I have nothing really on the backburner, is start developing my ideas for new projects to do. The first thing is that I want to re-visit the old scratch built nurgle titan idea. I know that my previous ones failed, but I have a lot more faith in this attempt as we learn most from out failures. I'm going with the same design as the one I drew for my previous attempt, but it's going to be made out of materials that are more structurally sound and less prone to falling apart. Also the previous attempt was more along the lines of Warlord Titan scale, whereas this one will be Knight Titan scale, which should mean the project will be more manageable.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Hello! Thought I'd do an update on the new Nurgle Knight build attempt. I've started construction and I'm pretty pleased with what I've got done so far. I decided on using the body of a Mr Potato Head as the base of the body, as it's nice and sturdy. Then I started marking out roughly, where I was going to attach the legs. The legs are made from wrapping paper tube segments, which are nice and sturdy. I made sure to cut the tubes at an angle at the point they meet the body, so it fits on to the body without any huge gaps. I also started work on constructing the head and neck. The neck is just another wrapping paper tube segment. The basis of the head is an old stress-ball. The head is looking a bit small at the moment, but once I start building up the mouth and eye, it will bulk out and fit the model a bit better.
And here is a shot for scale. As you can see he'll still be pretty big, even though he's a smaller scale than my previous attempt to build him!
What I plan on doing next is starting to construct a solid base for him, so he can stand up without me having to lean him against something, which'll make it easier to do more construction and to, later, do the sculpting process. Also, another source of inspiration for this build is the Mancubus from Doom. I'm definitely thinking about doing that carapace style armour on the upper section of my Nurgle Knight and also build weapons that sort of look more organic as though they are growing out of his arms rather than looking strapped on.

Nice to see you revisiting your nurgle titan project ! Just a thought though, how about replacing the cardboard tubes with PVC ? They may carry weight better...

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I'll look in to getting some PVC pipe.
On an unrelated note, check out the new Great Unclean One that GW will be releasing. The one on the bottom right is the old forgeworld one for comparison.
Hey everyone! So, I spent some vouchers and money I got for Christmas on the Dark Imperium box set. So far I have all of the Nurgle forces assembled. I've been working on painting up the Plague Marine squad. They are almost completed, I just have a few bits to finish off on them. I decided to adapt the paint scheme of my Pre-Heresy deathguard for my Plague Marines, as I thought that the gritty scheme would work really well on them, as they're nurgle and deathguard.

Next up I shall be working on the Blight Drone!

Finished painting up my Pox Walkers. Really pleased with how they came out. I went for a paint scheme that was quick and simple to do (as I had 20 to paint up) but would still look good on the tabletop. :]

Oof. It's been a while since I have posted on here but I have now returned from being swallowed up by The Warp. So I have been working on a fair few things since I have been gone from this place, I've finished painting up the Dark Imperium boxed set, here's a pic...
I also purchaced and painted a Death Guard battallion boxed set at the start of 2019...

Foetid Bloat Drone (w) Fleshmower:
Death Guard Terminators:
Recently I've just finished painting up a Biologus Putrifier and am really pleased with how he came out. He's easily one of my best Death Guard minis and was generally super fun to paint up once I got the time consuming part of basecoating the bottles done. Also I'm really pleased with the photos I took of him. I think that my miniatures photography skills is definitely improving!

Hey everyone! Recently I have acquired the Foul Blightspawn miniature to add to my growing Deathguard collection. So I have been busy painting him up. Really pleased with how he is looking so far. I've used some UHU glue on the base, to get those slime effects to make it look as though he's been spewing the foul content of the tank on his back everywhere. Here's how he's looking so far...
