Ate lunch



What I still need to do:
Paint 2 Veterans
Build 3 ZM tiles
Paint the support squad.
Build the rest of tac squad 1.
Strip my old Guardians.
Undercoat Guardians.
Paint Guardians.
Eat dinner.
Order my Eldar models
Make a timeline of roman history because why not.

Ok! My day was slightly less productive than I had hoped, but none the less I did get stuff done!

What I did
Painted 2.9 Veterans
Made bases for Ahriman and the veterans
Built 4 ZM tiles (almost)
Ate lunch
Ate dinner


So not bad!
I did take some pics, but I'll do a full showcase once the vets are all done!

Yeah, my plan with the KSons is to paint the HH-era bolters like the FW ones (white and gold) and paint the rubricae ones black,gold and silver.

Hopefully I'll finish the gold on the two remaining vets, so the OSL on the sergeant and finish the bolters. And if I find my skewers, I'll finish the tiles too.

Mymeara! But with less green. My thoughts are that, over time, they add more and more green to their armour. And since mymeara is so remote, I could have Ahriman and the KSons interact with them without upsetting the timeline.

Im back! (You didn't go anywhere -InnerEmber) I got some more work done on the KSons (the next vet is done, so that means theres one more to go), but don't have any pics. While I waited for my paint to dry, I found an old CSM in the attic and decided to repaint him (well, it).



Its still very WIP, and I went a little overboard with the pink, but after the shade and dry brush are done it should look pretty good.

The first half of the first tactical squad. I'm going to finish building the rest as soon as I find more superglue and then I'll get to painting them! They don't have annoying trim, so they'll be done quickly (I hope)

I like the Tac squad too. You've got a knack for metering out the right amount of 'space egyptian' to stop KSons looking silly and OTT

I decided to post a group pic on f the already painted models (Ahriman's base is still being worked on). They will soon be deployed somewhere and take part in their first battle (a kill-team style game with custom rules, which seems like the only type of game I can play until 8th drops). I'll be taking Ahriman, the three vets and two of the Terminators, who will be run as sekhmet, and hopefully toss a nice amour of pyromancy (yay!) around before being squashed. Wish me luck!

Also, just wanted to say how sweet Ahriman looks something about the balance of the colours with the added tan robes and the bright blue spots really hits the spot for me

Well, I did ok. I played three games, the first was against ultrasmurfs, the second one was against Death Guard and finally I faced off against Orks (dunno what they were doing there). The ultrasmurfs player had a dreadnought, and killed one of the termies and a vet with its autocannon, smashed my chainfist dude and finally died to a melta bomb. Unfortunately, his missile terminator and veterans managed to gun down Ahriman and the terminator sergeant, so the first game was a loss.
The second game, against death Guard, basically had me running away from his deathshroud (three of them and a chaplain made up his whole army) and trying to cast inferno again and again (I lost two veterans from perils). Fortunately, the chaplain died to a molten beam and Ahriman chopped off the deathshroud sergeants head, so I won the second match
The ork player brought along a few killa kans, along with several nobs (three, I think) and managed to kill Ahriman with overwatch. Go figure! The game ended, unfortunately for him, after I managed to kill the rest of his nobs and both the kans with molten beams and inferno. So another win for me!

All in all, it was a fun little game, and really the first time I've played my KSons (well, some of them). Im planing on painting the seekers this weekend, and maybe finish the last veteran.

Well, it's almost June already! How time flies by (especially when your 2081st birthday is coming up).

On dakka, as most of us know, a new month equals a new painting comp. This time, the theme will allow me to paint more KSons again. Yay!
I thought I'd let you dicide what I should paint. Remember, the theme is "Legendary".
Ember's Models-that-need-painting-and-could-be-legendary-maybe List:

1: Tolbek. His base has been painted, but the mini himself is still grey (three shades of grey, actually). Quite legendary, would be fun to paint.
2: Seeker with sniper rifle.
3: Sergeants


What do you think?

My vote is for señor Tolbek! Fancy a race to see who can get a character model finished first?

Ok, I currently have 10+ models on my table being painted, so expect some pics soon. I have tomorrow off (Yay obscure Christian holidays!) so I'll probably get more work done then. Maybe something big...




I really want rhinos for my vets (I typically forget DT, and suffer badly because of it), but don't want to use 40k ones and can't afford FW ones. My plan is to do something like this, but use the GW chimera kit. I'll call it... the Arkhad Pattern Rhino! or something...
