Okay, so I completed a pair of malcadors!
These vehicles are very much assault tanks from a pretty prestigious unit. Although saying that they are pretty battle worn, having taken part in armoured clashes. I basically wanted a pair of Malcadors with turrets and pretty upgraded, so the hull was 3d printed from Tiny panzer studio, the turret is from Mortian, although the guns here are from models and minis, the track sides are legit FW tracks (from a pair of defenders I have decided to turn into assault transports). I gave them the Imperial knight armiger's machinegun, as it is a heavy machinegun, I had them, and these tanks are from the Commonwealth world of Thryn, which I have not modeled any units from, so it might make sense for them to be using distinctly different looking weaponry. The more standard weapons used in my forces are of either Klomn, Karsk or Calathian manufacture which are either traditionally the arms centers of the sector or have traditionally had closer ties to Ardus(the planet on which my forces are fighting).

My plasma blasty gun has arrive...

An Update!
Some decent photos of Syracuse and Scourge outside!
Spoiler:

So my pair of Prometheius pattern Malcadors (Promethies literally translating to 'forsight') upgraded Mk 8's. These tanks are newly refitted and upgraded veteran machines. I already went over them before but will talk about the flags as seen in the last picture. Both carry flags of the Thryn Land Forces, the flag represents this. Unlike most heavily settled planets the land mass of Thryn is only small, with a reasonably high percentage of the population living under the ocean, or on space stations around the planet. The Flag shows the thin green strip between the black(of space) and the blue(of Thryn's great ocean). The skull and swords kinda speak for themselves. The Black flag with White Aquila is simply a friendly force identifier, to show imperial aerial units that this vehicle is friendly.

Tank Destroyer sand shields, I wanted to paint them in cauter scheme and you sorta require more vertical space on the vehicle to make it look good, also it is a desert tank, and sand shields look minted. Will add brackets and bolts and all kinds of things.
Spoiler:

Nonablade Project!
Stormblade plasma blast gun arrived so I wasted no time in cutting it up and fitting it to the tank! I will need to counterweight the vehicle's casemate, as it is a chonky big block of 3d printed resin. Gun is from Solutionlesn's Machaius Omega. Threw the back part of the resin cannon on top to try and weigh it down so that the vehicle does not fall in half.
Spoiler:

I needed to cut it where you can see, and drill some holes in the bottom where the peg is on the shadowsword's casemate. I also put some big round magnets in to hold the gun level.
So pics of the gun fitted! And also in the wild, because the better lighting.
Spoiler:

And lastly, another Engineering Grimprints Churchill!
This time a mine flail using insiration from the Churchill Toad and sherman Crab, there is a churchill Toad in the Australian Arms and Armour Museum Cairns, which is in my neck of the woods, so I went and looked at the thing and took some photos and worked out how everything goes together. The flail is a component from Artee Forge, it is meant to connect to leman russ sized dozor blade like setup. I quite preferred the traditional Crab or Toad layout. The vehicle is from an independent Klomn Armoured engineering regiment (inspired by the British historical 79th Armoured Division), and therefore I though it prudent for the vehicle to be able to clear lanes for the largest tanks commonly used in Klomn armoured formations. So here we have an example of the largest commonly used tank in Klomn armoured formations!
I printed a pair of the flail components out, and cut one in half, I cut about a third out of the middle of the second one and glued that between the other two.
I also glued the boom end on end to the other.
Now until recently I have been getting my grim prints churchills printed (as I did not want turrets or guns, as I wanted to replace those with stuff from elsewhere(Such as the turret here from Nefyma's kil-san tank)), but this one was considerably cheaper. So I bought it, and was looking for something boxy I could put on the front to mount the extended flail to. And then I realised I had these nice little sponsons...
So I chopped them up, mounted them on, used the weapon holding parts of the sponsons to make armoured drum shaped housing, added an armoured drive shaft running from the rear of the vehicle to one of these armoured boxes, and another from the armoured box to the flail, and added some hydrolic looking bits from a chimera bulldozer blade.

I posted it over in my thread, but it also fits here well and I don't want to leave Oldmate hanging as only one posting projects:

A bunch of new additions:

a trio of Rapier laser destroyer proxies. I got them 3D printed with a larger order of heads for another project as I thought they look cool. I can't seem to find the source of the file though at the moment. I seem to remember it was from some Renegade and Heretics line, as the drivers had chaos symbols in their armor that I filled with greenstuff.
Anyway, cute little thingies. A bit difficult to paint the driver, as they came as one solid piece each, but I think they make a lot of sense for the Askaris. And 4 light Lascannons should make a dent into lightly armored vehicles at least.

Next off: three further Sentinel variants
Strike 1: Minethrower Sentinel
The logic extention of my Chimera based Lamashu minethrower. Make fast anti tank mining mobile again! Lore wise that big launcher holds 4 cassettes with 4 tubes each containing 4 mines for a total complement of 64. It looks a bit big though and I have added a smaller two-cassette launcher to the printing files, which you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6613504

Strike 2: Smokescreen Sentinel
Again the 3D files: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6621529 This is another variant, I dreamed up. A mobile smoke screen generator (the big thingy with the two barrels on the side) combined with a smokegrenade launcher (the smaller grenade launcher thing on the front) and a bigger than usual smokelauncherbatterei at the nose.

Last but not least: Electronic warfare sentinel:
The 3D files: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6621453 also include an approach to an advanced comm-array, but that looked just to big and to much, when I tried to fit it to the original sentinel. It's still a very crowded model, even with the smaller vox-pack from the old infantry squad. But I really liked the idea. Basically it is meant to serve as a range extender for the infantry vox-network (the Vox-pack at the side), to triangulate and scramble enemy communications (the "satelite dish" on top and on the arm on the front) and to serve as a drone port for three FPV drones on the "signal tower" (on its left side). Also note the modified Hunter Killer missile in the front which now doesn't get in the way of the door/sensors/hatches/weapons anymore. At least I never found a place on the old kit to fix the HK missile without getting in the way.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6620046

I cut out the door as I wanted to have it in an opened position so that the drone operator (from Anvil Industries, just as the drones) has just stepped out to check something. Also as a small detail it has a roman numeral "VI" instead of the two or three digit numbers of the other Sentinels indicating they are rather rare

I'm also currently working on a Destroyer Tank hunter with a strong red LED in the gun, so that you can see where it is pointing too...

Okay some more projects.
2x Basilisk proxies from Nefyma.
But I think you all might know me better than that.
So I got the parts to make them 2x Medusa proxies and 2x Oldmate's current obsession with tank destroyer kitbashes too.
Spoiler:

So I chose the hull without a gun here, as firstly, I would like there to be space for an engine in the vehicle, and secondly it is the same chassis I have on the tank destroyers I am also working on, from a fluff POV it makes sense that they are a family of vehicles. Everything is pretty standard, for the pintle mount they both have watercooled machineguns, which are present on other vehicles in the same division(my carnodon and carnosaurs) in the case of this family of self propelled guns/laser they are not expecting to need their machinegun as much, so it's more the case of an older gun being slapped on them to provide some air/anti personnel defence.
The laser cannon is evidently quite large. I imagine this type of vehicle to be more of a nashorn/hornise, it's not particularly fast or well armoured, but it's got a really really powerful long range weapon. It's a glass cannon, but it's a cannon alright!

Lastly, SPG interior.
Spoiler:

As I assembled it I was using a guardsman without a base for scale, and some things did not line up. The fighting compartment was too tall. A trooper could not reach something on the sponson, it was all too high, and the folding seats that came with the kit were like spacious deckchairs. I soon worked out that if the ammunition was stored on the fighting compartment floor then it could be used like a step to get to the sponson, so I made some boxes with plasticard and plasticard with checkerplate. I also added a pair of seats, approximately 8x8mm - the standard regulation size of a guardsman's bum, these would be the gunner and loader's travel positons. I added folding seats each side of the gun, One being occupied by the gunner. I also made a little crawlspace for the commander to acsess their hatch with a checkerplate floor so that they were not just hovering 2m off of the vehicle floor. I have not configured the medusa and tank destroyer interior, but there is an internal brace along the rear of the casemate which is used to support the commander's platform. it would be the ideal position for a hoist to pick up medusa shells and lower them directly onto the feeding ramp. And with the laser I just gotta add enough big battery capacitor thingies to make it convicingly capable of melting a hole through a battlewagon at 5kms...
I guess I will have to give them sand shields too.

I missed out the last bunch of images. Dang, that Hydra looks awesome. The missiles go really well with the guns and the radar system looks very cool. Do you have a pic of the turret from the front?

Regarding the SPGs: those turrets look massive! Reminds me a bit of the PzHbz 2000, but they look even bigger. And it is a cool idea to add this Nashorn-like Tank destroyer to your more mobile turreted tank destroyers. I can totally see that thing hiding somewhere and blasting away at the first big target that comes into view. That laser should give pause even to a Superheavy tank.

Finally finished one of last years project: a destroyer tank hunter based on an upgrade kit I designed myself. It is based on the Leman Russ kit + the engine deck extension from Kromlech and 3D printed parts shown here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6548805
I also threw in some smaller bits and bobs on the side of the engine.

The special twist is, that I changed the files a little bit to get a whole all through the gun and the ball mount and let my electrically gifted wife install a powerful red, forward directed LED as well as a switch inside. The top of the tank is magnetized to change the battery if needed and the cupola is also not glued to allow access to the switch.
Here are some pics:

That's a heck of a strong LED, I thought you had a laser pointer in the barrel at first.

I wonder if that can be done on an Imperial Knight.

I don't see why not. The main problem is hiding the battery, as it is easier with a 9V block. But if I understand correctly, one might get along with a smaller one if one knows how to do it.

Okay, so the pictures have been up for a while I have just been a bit busy lately.
My tank destroyer project.
A pair of tank destroyers from the 11th Silvan Guards, Anti tank regiment, the 43rd Klomn Armoured's divisional tank destroyers.
These vehicles are from C(mechanised(A and B company are towed weapons, which are much easier concealed)) Company's 3rd battery and are often used as a high mobility mobile reserve, in defensive warfare they will react to enemy breakthroughs or armoured pushes, and in the offence they can be rushed into footholds to support the infantry against armoured threats whilst the mechanised troops and tanks can be freed up to continue their break in(gaining a foothold into enemy lines) or break out(punching through them) operations. For this purpose they are equipped with the Durannan Industries SP- 41 'Corsair'. The Corsair is armed with a laser destroyer in what would otherwise be a large and spacious turret, with the laser weapon sheathed in an armoured thermal sleeve.
Although the Corsair shares suspension with the rugged C- 092 IFV, it has received a larger and more powerful engine which has been moved to the rear of the vehicle, making it actually a turn faster than the venerable C-92 despite the added weight of the laser destroyer and it's banks of batteries and capacitors. The freed up space in the front left hull is filled with additional capacitors for the laser destroyer. The Corsair's armour is not thick, being proof against only auto cannons on the frontal arc and resistant on the sides and therefore it must be used from ambush, although the great armour piercing power of the laser does put it in good stead when it can take the first shot. As the laser is an inherently accurate weapon most sighting is provided to try to ensure that the Corsair gets the first shot. Provided reasonably clear atmosphereic conditons the laser destroyer can melt a hole through a battle tank at ten kilometres. A fully amped up shot would do the same at fifteen in adverse conditions, but leave the batteries and capacitors drained and vehicle unable to fire again and additionally in need of a lens replacement. This can be used with some success against truly dire threats such as assault from enemy super heavies and titans and it gives the division the ability to contend against such threats.
Whilst doctrinal purists might choke on the concept the vehicles are often seen with machineguns for anti flyer and personnel use, and guided missiles.

So the Corsair is really inspired by the M18 Hellcat, although being kitted with a laser destroyer it has considerably more comparative firepower, at the cost of versatility. It evolved by the same line of thought, although being a more specialised anti armour vehicle because of the availability of big powerful lasers.
As for the C-092, keep posted, I'm a workin! Not sure what it's name will be.
The name of the Corsair? I kinda love and hate coming up with names to be honest... so this was a cool name and the Hellcat was both a US carrier based aircraft and a tank destroyer, so I could give a tank destroyer the same name as the other US carrier aircraft of the day...
Also, these are artillery men, so conversely tanker helmets are acceptable.

currently working on a Samaritan Med-Evac vehicle. But as I have no good spot to basecoat apart outside and it is too cold and humid around here at the moment, this project will not cross the finish line until summer.

First off: as my sole remaining GW Chimera (traded the other one off to make room) has the "mid turret" assembly, I wanted to keep this style, but also wanted more "head space" for the paramedic to work in and to fit in a second stretcher. So I took the little backplate that always remains when you build a Chimera (I have 5 in my bitsbox), turned it around and glued it behind the driver compartment. Then I fixes sidewalls and a back from plasticard and found that the Valkyrie ramp I had lying around from my Skytalon made for a pretty good fitting roof.

Then I went to the interior and build some stretchers and patients from spare parts. Also used some Sentinen Flamer flasks which will be Oxygen later on, connected to some breather masks.

In the front I made a door to the driver compartment from the Chimera doors, added some cool looking devices from the Valkyrie kit on top and a big screen from some Rhino-part (I think), linked to the wall by a thick "cable" part from an Anvil-Heavy gunner arms set that I didn't use

The free side also got a healthy collection of parts from the bits box.

and last but not least a look inside to get a feeling of how cramped/spacious everything is:

I still have to build a little seat, maybe with crash webbing for the paramedic.
Of course a whole Chimera just for two casualties doesn't make a lot of sense. So I imagine this more as a mobile emergency surgery or the like. Something to fix the soldiers up enough that you can throw them unto a truck-bed and drive them back the lines.

I already ordered another Valkyrie ramp as well as a turret and add-on track armor for another Chimera that I want to build as command chimera in a similar style, as commanders also need their space. Let's see how that turns out.

Working on a pair of Ammit IFVs from Nefyma, with a few of my own modifications.

Firstly as Nefyma likes to give plenty of options I'll go over the configuration I prefer; Open sides with the torsion bar suspension drive wheel, idler and return wheels on display; although I did put them on backwards, as with IFVs, should have their drive sprockets located in the front. I prefer the hull without the gun, figuring that firstly, I can cover the front with stowage... and it can be where the engine is located. I also like the more basic BMP style turret, and the APC top plug.

Firstly the most durastic change was to the standard IFV turret. The commander's hatch was firstly set back on a bustle partly overhaninging the back of the turret and also being quite large for regular, unarmoured guardsman tank crew men. So I used some 3d printed split hatches scaled to my preferred size, and I cut the cupola bustle off the rear of the turret with a Tamiya hobby saw, chipped a small amount of material away to make it better fit the sihouette of the rest of the turret, superglued it in and patched it up with milliput. There was also a small hatch on the other side of the turret where I wanted to put some tactical markings, so I chipped that off with a scalpel and milliputted it back over nice and smooth. Aside from that I only added a pair of firing ports to the front part of the troop compartment, on either side of the turret, out of the way of the turret basket, being inspired by the firing ports on either side of the front of BMP 3s. I figure that if the infantry want to use it as a gun truck, they should also be able to add to the weight of fire coming out the front. This brings the already well endowed vehicle's number of firing ports up to 9, one out the back, 6 on the sides and two out the front. I also added some rails from Mortian's veteran tank kit to the rear deck so that the infantry in the back can use them to brace weapons off of, and of course additional heavy weaponry can be attached to these rails and fired by the dismounts. these were inspired by similar rails found on the rear deck of the German Marder IFV. Naturally I put a machinegun up there so they can really lay down the dakka. I decided to leave it at a single weapon on the rear deck although I really really liked the idea of putting two heavy flamers up there. The machinegun on the rear deck also means that with the standard IFV turret, does not require a heavy stubber at the hatch where it would be rather crowded, especially with my little Sagger style ATGM(I went totus porkus with the BMP theme of the turret), which was modified from the Imperial guard heavy weapon team kit and a cut down HK mount. I also got a Vickers light tank turret printed to size to be used with the vehicle for a second model of IFV. This turret has two hatches and would be more suitable for two turret crew than the smaller BMP style turret. It also had greater space to mount a larger more advanced Spacemarine HK, and a Heavy stubber to the commander's hatch to be safe. I would imagine this turret might be more used for command, observation and fire support vehicles.

As these vehicles are from an armoured regiment operating in desert warfare naturally I also added some sand shields because I think that such tin-work looks really nice, and gave it a bit of mild battle damage prior to priming on the mostly painted vehicle by using a candle to heat a paperclip. to make bullet holes and a scattering of scratches and gouges from ricochets and shrapnel. And direct heating from the candle to peel back the damaged section. As I simultaneously really like the open suspension of the vehicle, like sand shield sand want to show off my paint scheme, I decided that some of they should be missing some panels.
The kit comes with many little details which look like they could be tying points, so naturally I cut them off, chipped them flat and glued some backpacks over them, as they are doing their jobs! I put a lot of stowage over the vehicles as they are expected to do some long range operation and prolonged campaigning. I added two jerry can racks to the rear of the hull, and a large drum over the back ramp. It could be a jettisonable extended fuel tank, or maybe even a water tank(I am sure the dismounts would rather be showered in water, over promethium if the thing gets perforated some shortly before they have to dismount...).
I gave one a hedgerow cutter, because I think they look fantastic. Rule of cool here. Maybe in the desert they are in there is cactus/thorn tree hedges or something they need to break through...
I also made some camo netting by cutting up an washing bag (which I brought for the purpose) and super glued it down. gave them my now firmly established toilet brush bristle antenna.

Cool work Oldmate! I never considered gun ports in the front. Do you know if that was ever done on real world vehicles? Also the rails to brace weapons on are a cool detail. As usual I have a lot of respect for all the though you put into your conversions regarding what would work on such vehicles and what the soldiers using them would come up with.

The tiny hunter killer missile on the left turret looks cute. I had to think of the "ex-wife" missile Justin Hammer offered in Iron Man 2 to upgrade Warmachine.
The wheel arrangement reminds me a lot of the Panzer IV, but I guess there were british tanks that used similar setups. Out of a lack of knowledge: why would one want the drive sprockets in the front on an IFV?

Edit: Yeah, my 3000th post... junior officer reporting!

Cheers Pyro!

BMP3 has front hull firing ports, they are pretty tricky to pick out, but are armoured ball mounts with little armoured tubes to protect the gun barrel. Here they are on the trumpeter model kit box art.
Spoiler:

@ 'Exwife missile' I was more thinking soviet era Sagger, but yeah I totally see it X'D
The Ammit seems to have torsion bar suspension, more similar to Panzer III even has 3 return rollers along the top! Definitely that panzer look.

Traditionally you want your sprocket in line with your transmission(you could have a more advanced drive system such as electric motors etc) and this is rather large and bulky, in IFVs it is located up front with the engine, if they were located in the rear it would be located in the centre of the passenger compartment. With tanks it is usually seen as ideal to have it in the rear with the engine, although the sherman has a drive shaft running from the motor to the front, and obviously the Merkeva has the engine at the front with it's transmission like an IFV.

Okay, so I have decided that I liked Ammit IFV and I wanted some for my Klomn armoured division. I also like the APC option as well.

Varanus APC and Sebecus MK2 IFV
The Varanus APC is the work horse of the Klomn military, it is used in it's standard configuration as a battle taxi and as a resupply vehicle to the front lines and for casualty evacuation. The Varanus being lightly armed and lacking a true turret has more internal capacity than the Sebecus Mk2 IFV which it shares a chassis with. The requirements for the medium tracked carrier was for the capacity for passengers to fire from the front, rear and sides of the vehicle with their own weapons from under the vehicle's armour with their own weapons, rather than emplaced weapons such as the Chimera's lasgun array. The primary advantages of firing ports over emplaced weapons come down the more extensive employment of automatic weapons in Klomn military as compared to other more lasgun reliant Imperial Guard units, along with the employment of special weapons from under the vehicle's armour. The chassis also has four large hatches above the troop compartment for the infantry to be able to fire from, and rails are placed around the rear thrid of the vehicle. The rail does not extend further forwards as not to interfere with the turret weapons. The rails around the rear deck are intend to provide supports for the infantry to rest their weapons on when the vehicle is stationary, and to also provide a rail to mount heavy weapons to such as heavy machineguns, or heavy flamers.
In the front of the chassis, is the vehicle's engine and driver. The Varanus is commonly armed with a single heavy bolter on a pintle mount, whilst the Sebecus is usually armed with either a low pressure gun, for providing close support to the infantry or an automatic cannon to supress and kill infantry with a coaxle heavy bolter.

This vehicle is of the Silvan Dragoons, a mechanised infantry regiment of the 43rd Klomn Armoured Division. It is equipped with sandshields and an extended fuel tank for desert operations. Many vehicles of the 43rd Division are fitted with hedge row rams as they were found to be effective in breaking into thorn hedges.

Some work on the Praetor project.
I really like the Praetor, what is not to love about a giant, heavily armoured MLRS vehicle, but I also got thinking I would like a siege gun of some sort.
So my local tank museum is Aus Armour, they have both an M110 and a 2s7 Pion. And I thought that the guard does not really have anything bigger than a earthshaker in the gun department and that is only a 132mm, a medium artillery piece.
So I devised this monstrosity. I figured that the Praetor was the most suitable basis, as it has the correct layout for a giant Pion style siege gun. From there it was get a gun big enough printed, and make a sled I can slot the thing into the praetor's back with.
From there I dispensed with the armoured cover on the front and glued on a large hull plate I had discarded from my nonablade project, added the exhaust and 2x filters from Mortian's old Veteran tank upgrades kit. The main components I must do now are to attach a giant recoil spade to the rear of the gun sled assembly, and fabricate and add a hydrolic arm for reloading the huge cannon. Because short of having Ogyrns as gunners, you are going to have trouble handling those guardsman sized shells.
Lorewise it does what it says on the packet. Not a weapon of subtly. Simply put it is built to sling conventional munitions, doomstrike war heads and all kinds of shells a great distance and to reduce and destroy enemy fortifications primarily. But you know, shoot a biotitan in the face with it, and the thing is going to get turned inside out.

Might make a hydrolic arm rather than kitbash some ogyrns. But that does not mean they cannot put the shells onto the arm!

That does look pretty amazing. Is it intended to be able to direct fire too?
Also it might be personal taste, but have you considered a massive muzzle brake? Maybe like the one from the Panzerhaubitze 2000?

I am currently working on an Octo (technically a Deca...) Blade and my wife is wiring it up with some LEDs. I will post some pics, but I think its more sensible to do so, when there is something to see.

Do we accept ork vehicles in this thread? They're not exactly the most practical or historically accurate pieces of machinery.

I really enjoyed this kitbash; it captures the weird aesthetics of the inter-war periods in history. Like a mad max M3 Lee or Char B1, but with rocket pods and cupola gunners tacked on everywhere like some cold war vehicle.

Definitly! Of course I can only assume for Oldmate, but I guess we Guard-Kitbashers always love to see the work of our Orkish breathren!

We accept all vehicles armed and/or armoured, and especially over armed!
If it fights it is welcome. All factions all flavors, if it nails the asthetic of it's faction all the better.

That is a great vehicle Mr Nobody, very orky! A veritable tower of turrets, guns missiles and rockets. A terrifying sight to behold, and probably terrifying to operate too!

Got this APC and grav tank on Etsy. Hope to use them for BLKOUT (making custom stats for them).

Rattlecan paint jobs with some weathering using mostly craft paints. I like the way these look, plausible (except maybe the grav drive lol).

Figures are Harlow troops, made by Enemy Spotted Studios for BLKOUT.
