I think the Neubaufahrzeug makes an excellent Leman Russ.
Spoiler:
This is 1/35, similar height and width (not including sponsons), (although about 50% longer).
Not cheaper though as a 1/35 Neubaufahrzeug alone is about the same price as a Leman Russ from GW.
The two turrets match the two sponsons, and make more logical sense imo.

Too bad those dust figures are sold out atm.

Yeah they're great models. I bought 3 sets, one was limited edition "display only" and another two were regular, although Paulo seems to have a lot of issues with stock.
Okay, so finally some nice weather for air brushing, I got kangaroo no 3 out, primed it and put the first coat on then pulled out vehicle number 2 to use as reference for masking after it dried, and then I realised my mistake Didn't put smoke launchers, spotlight or infantry telephone on. So that has been remedied now, vehicle is up to standard. Gotta prime and paint those details though.

The missile launcher looks pretty awesome. Would you mind taking a photo from a different angle?
And as usual: great work on those details. The Kangaroo certainly is a very cool vehicle.

Thanks mate, I really like the look of it too, I think I'll use that same light slate green colour and then the same dark green as on the other vehicle in the first picture. Although with a modified pattern.
Spoiler:
Some more paint on it! The commander is waving a sword, because you know, nothing says cav...

Finished the last Kangaroo. This is a cavalry reconnasance vehicle that is part of a recon troop in a tank regiment. It is similar in role to a modern CRV such as a cavalry bradleys, this particular vehicle has a large arm mounting either a box of 6 anti tank missiles or a Folding Fin Aerial rocket pod. The commander is brandishing a sabre, becasue you should expect such eccentricities in any unit with strong cavalry traditions, (it is actually inspired by one of the NCOs in the mortar pits in the Danish war documentary Armadilo, although he was also wearing no shirt and a shako). Vehicle is named 'Draco'. The vehicle has 4 dismounts that can carry out recon on foot or should the need arise, fight from inside the vehicle.

I love the eyes on the upper hull. Also very nice camo scheme and weathering. The rocket pod looks very intimidating.
I have started working on a 3D printed minethrower, bridgelayer and another Tauros proxy, but it will take a while until I have some pics worth sharing

Cheers, the eyes are from the greenstuff world tactical numbers etc decal sheet I would recommend it.
I am looking forwards to seeing your work on the 3d models.
I'm currently stuck on holiday thanks to an outbreak of a certain virus. But before i left i finished my T70 light tank conversion for my converted Cadians. I settled on an orange tan amd dark grey scheme like the troops in their auumn gear and also placed on the vehicle branches from greenstuff world's tall realistic shrubbery- dry(which i also used to decorate the infantry bases) to act as additional camoflague. If you are thinking about buying these for basing i would heartily recommend, the also look great on vehicles.
Spoiler:
ps sorry for the poor quality of the pickture
Also airbrushed 3x Gryphons/cockatrice (armed with a heavy mortar or light howitzer(indirect fire battle cannon)) mobile artiller pieces. And 2x vickers light tanks. One C with a heavy stubber and auto cannon and One model B with two heavy bolters.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just realised i had a photo of said vehicles on my phone. So here they are:
Spoiler:
So the vickers light tanks are essentially as they seem. Light, small recon tanks that do have a bit of punch if they need it. They are lilely going to be paired with one of my tank formations a a recon force.
The Gryphons are going to be part of a supporting battalion attached to the 132nd commonwealth combined rifles and are going to also be a commonwealth combined regiment. They will also have the option of being armed with a light howitzer, woth equal stats to a battle cannon but with indirect fire capability amd longer range in this mode. The idea is its a lighter and less cumbersome piece than a basilisk and it can carry a heap of ammo within its hull. Can also be used for firect fire.

I still haven't finished the Scylla tankette as well as a Bridgelayer and Minethrower as it is still too cold to spray and airbrush over here... nonetheless I will use my hobby time during the cold to start on three projects I got from models and minis:
A wheeled Salamander Command tank, a Manticore Proxy and an Atlas Recovery tank. I'm still hunting for a pair of Chimera tracks, but I guess with some patience I will get them evenrually

Told myself, no modelling, till i finish painting all the vehicles on my desk.
Okay, so progressing on my vehicles, painted details and put decals on, next up weathering etc Wiating on some muzzle breaks for the light howitzers on the self propelled guns.
Spoiler:
Also finished another project.
Vehicle is the personal taxi and command post for the commander of my little battle group, hence all the coms equipment and the flag. Its pretty lightly armed as if the command vehicle is having to put lead down range, well things have gone badly wrong.
Spoiler:
Ooops LOL
Spoiler:
Blood and Skulls IFV that i have had on my desk for a long while, An IFV for my rifles unit, it is obviously more optimised than the rheboks that they currently have. Turret is a place holder currently but I actually think I might keep it as an option, albeit with a bigger hatch on the top and rear. some concept pics as well... Cut the detail off where the side doors will be, will add hatches to the roof and firing ports along the side, have added escape hatch for driver on right hand side of vehicle, exhaust on left and a big huinged engine cover(like that on the front of a vickers light tank) over the hull gun hole of the orginal chassis

As usual great additions Oldmate. I like the look of the wheeled IFV. Somehow I could very well see it with a remote controlled heavy stubber/light autocannon weapon station. Something like the 20mm autocannon on the Wiesel.
The self propelled artillery looks great. I love the low profile superstructure. It looks as if the gun is ducking into a foxhole right there.
Compare to the Crew I'm surprise about the Vickers tanks size. I would have thought it to be smaller. Was it 1/56, 1/48 or 1/35?

Thanks Pyroalchi I reckon a remote weapons station would look pretty good up there too, I guess the vehicle has a bit of a modern look about it.
Yeah the self propelled gun casemates are pretty good, its a real shame master crafted miniatures isn't making them anymore(pretty sure they are still making marine parts).
vickers light tanks are 1/48th from Blitzkrieg miniatures, I really like them, they just are perfectly sized, I mean look at it next to my militia Vic miniatures matilda and some milita infantry(the matilda is the only thing I have that holds a pretty close leman russ footprint)

Yeah, the scale is cool. The size comparison is quite useful as I considered getting Vickers tanks sometimes. They also look fittingly Imperial Guard like with all those rivets. By the way:Love the dude with the beard on the left. His head looks excellent

Some really nice conversions SentinelIV i really like the two flamer mounts on the first chimera(looks just about to be the bane of melee combatants,) and the command vehicle. Its always nice to see bridging vehicles and ambulances too.
Another Chimera, this one is a repair and maintenance vehicle and a ride for an Engineseer and his servitors.
Spoiler:
Next up, a pair of armoured observation vehicles from my Artillery company, one Chimera based, the other inspired by the West German Beobachtungspanzer, itself a real world conversion from the Jagdpanzer Kanone.
Hey Sentinel: some really great vehicles. Do you have some more pics from the chimera Command Post Vehicle structure from different angles? I might try to build me something similar in the future and your approach looks excellent.

A counts as Salamander Reconnaissance vehicle, originally built back in 1996 when Citadel Journal 16 came out with the plans. My original, rather bright, paint scheme, was redone and toned down.
Spoiler:
The Chimera AVLB is a more recent build and it is a proper bridging vehicle, unlike the Chimera with assault bridge I put up earlier. Work in progress shots...
That bridging vehicle is incredible. Nice job. The armoured car is a classic, i like the auto cannon turret its packing; a decent amount of firepower. Also spy some missile/rocket vehicles in the background. A neat force, thanks for sharing and look forwards to seeing more.
