Besides, as certain companies have clearly shown, giving WIP images over to criticism can lead to a very negative thread here on Dakka.

I'm glad to hear wave 2 is finally on its way to retail. Shame about all of the delays. Hopefully wave 3 won't be too far off now though. That's the wave I'm most looking forward to. Once that hits, I can totally stop buying Space Marines and just get the Eisenkern heavy infantry.

I can see him wanting to not show them though, as whipping people into a frenzy for a product not being delivered for months might be...inadvisable from certain viewpoints.

Right, although no one knows what his contract with WGF states, and they are in partnership. It's conceivable that he is bound to an NDA of some sort, even as the creator.

As you mention Krisnath, seeing a pre-release image will bring forth a barrage of questions, and as the main point of contact for the products it would be WGF getting hit by the torrent- so I can see why they might not want images released.

Just wonderin' out loud

It might also be the pure and simple reason that you want to get people worked up when you have a tangible release date figured out and that it is coming up soon. Not as tight as a week, mind you...

Yeah, given that Wave 2 was quite small compared to wave 3 and the delays Wave 2 had...

I think he wants to have something to keep the torches and pitchforks at bay rather than showing tons of stuff now and then being silent for however many months until WGF actually gets it made because there's nothing new.

Given that everything other than the Black Widows has been previewed in some form, I think it's being held more as an ace in the hole than any sort of agreement. Mark knows we're supportive of his WIP shots and the fact that he takes good suggestions and incorporates them keeps this from being a shamefully negative thread even with the delays.

Speaking of, we should be hearing some news about status of wave 2 before the end of this week hopefully? Maybe "late next week" like that new definition that's being uncovered?

It's shameful. The best way to avoid this is to prevent yourt customers from seeing what they've bought until they open the box.

What I really hope is that:
1)WGF somehow expanded enough to speed up production on all projects.
2)WGF realized they've been delaying this project enough and decide to put it forward as a priority.

Modular Black widows in hard plastic will be glorious when we get them...

Black widows should be fairly compatible with the stormtrooper accessory set too I imagine/hope. Dreamforge is easily the best line that WGF holds atm.

Yeah, they should be offering Mark gobs of money for him to produce more stuff and push that to market as soon as possible.

I like my Malifaux plastics, but they are not modular at all.

...Anyone wants 30 shock troopers, painted, for a reasonnable price? Please?

You're selling the WGF shock troopers?

Yeah, I bought two boxes 2 years ago, halfway through got fed up with them, still managed to get through them because, at first, I thought it would make a nice IG change.

They are very repetitive.

Quoted for truth. The rest of universe is very interesting to me.

And as anyone knows, the hobby is clamouring for a quality greatcoat trooper. His Sino/Russian faction, done to his quality and standard would be a massive seller. I only hope they won't treat it like competition. Their troopers, while not horrible, aren't up to a level where they can compete with the likes of Gee dub.

I was saying that in an even more general sense. He is good at designing stuff in a 3D environment, they should consult with him on other projects too.

For instance, if they Malifaux sprues for the modular heroes that (I hope) are going to hit the market at the same time as Through the Breach (another shameful thread) aren't as well thought out as the Eisenkern were, then we'll definitely know he's a diamond in the rough.

Has anyone done a serious, well-documented review of the apocalypse survivors by WGF?

I've seen a review of the WGF Apocalypse Survivors set at http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2013/06/wargames-factory-male-apocalypse.html

They look pretty decent.

As far as previews of the wave 3 stuff and renders and the like, he did show us a VERY sweet set of images of the APC that we're all drooling over.

He did, but he also showed those during the KickStarter in a bit rougher form. It was nice to see the details coming in, but the Black Widows were not shown during the KS at all (they just re-used the pencil art for Ada), nor were the Val'kir "standard" troopers if memory serves. Both the assault and heavy Val'kir were shown on Dakka previous to the KS. Most everything else we've seen, so naturally those two items, and especially the Black Widows, are his hot tickets.

Don't really blame him for not showing them so far away from release when they're pretty good hype-generators, no matter how much I'd like to see them.

I did a review and a size comp on the male set:

I'm working on the female set now. Should be done in a week or so.

I haven't heard any rumors of 15mm Eisenkern in the works, but if you're looking for something try the Eureka 15mm 'Sci-fi Germans'. Here's one pictured at the feet of the 15mm Crusader:

oh wow those look excellent alongside that Crusader.

I may have to get some of those if I ever find a cool 15mm sci fi ruleset to use them with

Thanks, Dr. I was asking because I love the look of the Eisenkern Heavies, and although I will buy them in 28mm, I would love to be able to spam them like I could if they were in 15mm.

I know, right? I'm thinking of using the Eureka Germans with these guys
Spoiler:

Technically, there's nothing to keep you from using any 28mm ruleset with them.

Very nice. I was just checking for updates, but I also just primed my crusader and a few troopers. I just started using an airbrush this week, so maybe we will see progress next week.

Sorry, no update from mark, but I did start playing with an airbrush this week. I also decided to start painting my marines "the Scythes of the Emperor" pattern. The crusader will be an attached warhound to the army once painted up. Here's the first part layer, metals have not been touched yet, neither have the pneumatics or the chest shield where the livery will be added. I haven't decided on the shoulder guards yet whether to keep them yellow or go black. The vulcans will be yellow. The head is also undecided if I will keep white or go red with it.

The eyes are actually a light kit, I have other lights(orange) hitch will be in the smokestacks itch steel wool or cotton smoke.

Looks like the 15mm version would make a great Knight. The original is awesomely huge, but the 15mm is closer to the true size, I think, seeing as one of the usual weapons was a simple battlecannon, not anything huge like plasma blastguns or turbolasers.
