Knights are looking great solar! They're such a joy to paint aren't they?

Thanks for commenting.
I think they are fun to paint. I think I make it harder cause I like to pick out all the bits and bobs and paint them differently; and there is a lot of bits and bobs. Plus doing 4 at the same time adds to the repetition..

I have a game Thursday.. might take one out for a test drive.

On other good news ...I got my Siege Leviathan Dreads in the mail. Now soaking in suds. Looking forward to seeing how these play as well.

Thanks Dr H.

Looking at the other two I may not do the gold trim instead I might go silver Would that detract? Kinda of a ranking status.

Game tomorrow, and I decided to put one in play. Going with a 3 Cad list so It's way out of my normal play style.
SM's, IK and Tempestus ( though I'll have to proxy them with some old IG figures as my order hasn't come in yet )

Probably go with IK with Melta cannon, Avenger cannon and AA gun.

Good game for me last night. I took a IK Crusader. Managed to have Tiggy cast invisibility on him several times. This i admit was cheese.. He was a beast; destroying my opponents Wraithknight in a single turn. Went on turn by turn wiping out the Eldar bikes. At the end my opponent had a single Jet bike and a flyer.
Good list but making him his own little invisible deathstar was too overpowering even if it was legal. Won't be playing him that way again unless I got a WAAC player.

The amount of firepower the Crusader puts out is tremendous. The Tempestus squads were great when they were shooting .. All that AP 3 made short work of the armor of the Eldar troops, good for taking out marine as well. The also suffered for the same reasons poor armor. Without proper LD. expect to lose them to shooting followed by moral failures.

Not where I should be

Great to hear, but where oh where are the pics? LOL.

Don't play these days, but it does sound like I would get annoyed quick with so many people in the world with amazingly powerful units. Not that I would ever get annoyed with you Solar, but you take my meaning, super massive units able to blip about the battlefield and invincible for all intense and purposes. Only read a few batreps really so may be a mile off, but as a mostly Ork player I can see I would not fare well in today's world of super heavy super robots with invisibility and invulnerability (at least to anything I can shoot.)

Shutting up now. Your knights look amazing BTW.

Knights are looking mighty fine Solar! love the colour combo and is it just me or do they always seem to look better when there's more than one walking death engine?

Spot on.. For someone who doesn't play much you nailed it. Orks are at he bottom of the codex creep. Though you can still pull of a win with the right deployment, mission and dice ( luck) its mostly an uphill battle. Unless... your playing other Orks then its a ' Good Scrap'
Thanks for the comments.

Sorry no pics. Phone battery was dead..
They make a big impression on the table. They must be dealt with or plan to suffer at your peril. Git brought 4 of them to a game once and we ( 2 vs. 2 battle) lasted only to the bottom of the 2nd turn. In our game It managed to take out a Eldar Wraithknight in a single turn of shooting.
By the way the Mechanicus army you painted for Gits was commented on by some folks watching us play a week or so ago, They said it was the best painted army they had ever seen . Kudos Nerd. Earning praise across the big pond!

So the work continues..

I managed to start on building the Seige Dreads. Magnetizing the weapon arms. So far they can field 2x seige claws w/ MG, a storm cannon, seige dril, or the Grav. weapon. I'll try to get the priming done tonight. ifs so I'll take a pic for proof.
Also my order of Tempestus came in so I'll be working on the builds for them . Hopefully I'll get to AB work on the weekend.

Thanks.. Game yesterday with Gits Admech.. I was tabled... Poned. Admittedly I had a very non-power list., but by the end of the 4th turn I had still failed to kill a single figure.. yes I went the whole game and couldn't remove a model from his list. Ironically he would have destroyed me sooner but I had a 3 shield Void Shield generator that tanked a lot of his first turn shooting. Other wise I'm sure the game would be over by the top of turn 3. My only threat model, My Imperial knight, was downed by haywire and a neutron laser; Afterword I had no units that could reasonably do any damage to most of his units. The canticles really make their units even better. With all the bonuses whey can really put out some hurt.
I hate to say it but I need to start going with the more competitive units and less fun units if I want to even continue playing this game. Well played on his part though at no point did he have to act defensively, where as was all game.

So no hurry on getting the Scions done. After their performance I'm not as interested. Maybe Tau?.

I think the Scions could be competitive, just depends on your list and how you run them. I thought the same thing about Orks and the Dread Mob, lost a lot of games at first then started winning and took second at a local tournament.

I think the recycling get started box is really good, possibly two of those formation and a ground assault. Admittedly I would not have a Knight with the scions. Max out Plasma and Melta guns with lascannons on your Valks. I would go all taurox with Missile Launchers instead of the Valks.

Edit: Or a Skitarii get started for 3 Plasma Cavaliers and a Icarus Dune Crawler for AA.

My combination was a Sm / Scion list with a IK. His high number of 6+ S weaponry along better T and multiple W units just was to hard to whittle down, Especially when you know your units will not survive the return fire.

The scions were just an experiment to do something different than the normal SM lists I run.

Scion strengths are ability to deep strike, especially if you take the 2 recycling get started formation. 2 units every turn that if he kills come back to life to deep strike again. It's pretty sick especially for objective games, not so much for kill point games. Put 2 Plasmas with them and 4 Meltas in the Command Squads. Same in your ground assault, Command Squad with 4 melta and rest 2 Plasma. The amount of just AP 3 is insane that you could do. Just have to utilize cover even if dealing against Omnispex and Lumigen.

Sorry a little passionate, it's a army I'm contemplating doing.

Nice Formation , though it would not have changed the outcome. Neither Scion unit was completely destroyed, they both were broken and down to a few figures but had a way to go till they were off the table.

My lists need to b be more powerful.

Though after the last game was kinda turned off by the lackluster performance of the Scions, But I went ahead and finished them this weekend anyway. Both 10 man squads are finished. Also finished one of the Taurox's; though I really dislike the model, mostly cause the thing is tiny and would have trouble fitting 5 guys much less 10 inside of it. Remaining are the 3 figures of the Command squad: the Prime, a meltagun guy and a Medic. Started working on the 2nd Valkyrie as well. Lastly the Commissar.

Might be a game this Thursday, so maybe one more go at using them. If I can get the Commissar and the command squad finished, May try the recycling formation.

Started on some new Terrain for my Local FLGS. Again Basic construction since they will be beat up and abused by the local kids. Always good to have different and interesting options. When we play we like to have a bit more than normal the number of terrain pieces.

Thanks IF, Will try to get the last Valkyrie done this weekend as well as the remaining command squad. After I'll start on the commissar

Started washing all the Reaver parts. This will take a while as I'll soak sections together so the pieces don't all get mixed up. .
