And I thought the "Slime" one was going to be a Gelatinous Cube (going with the AD&D Monster Manual theme).

I haven't cheated and read the manga (as I tend to do - speaking of which, I am freaking six months behind on Shingeki no Kyoujin. Gotta catch up), so I have not been able to check this suspicion.

But the credits show a big gelatinous cube with eyes, after showing a gelatinous girl, SOOO.... I assumed she was a Gelatinous Cube.

And, yeah.... I suppose you could pick just about anywhere.

I finished Toradora! last night, and I've had this massive pit in my stomach since.

And I've almost caught up on Berserk.

Yeah, that show is quite the drama train. The ending was cute but... not entirely fulfilling, somehow.

Main reason I liked Psycho-pass movie as much as I did was very simple.

1. It showed military equipment as opposed to just law enforcement stuff. (DRONE TANKS ARE TERRIFYING BTW)
2. Kougami was back.

Oh my. Did you not know that this series itself was actually based on a small hentai manga story? Also, yes, there's Centaur hentai- it's also one of the more popular 'Western' monster-girl type softcore, due to the popular ideal of centaurs not wearing clothes.

Also, Slime-girls are a pretty common thing in hentai. Also known as goo-girls.

Yeah, amazingly he's started working again, but I imagine he'll hit another hiatus sooner or later.

All the other animes this season are being cool and sexy and fun in their own way, but Overlord?

The first half with such manliness that it looked like Kamina itself graced us with his presence.
The second half... Well, let's say Albedo and the vampire have some competition about Ains' love because GOD DAMN, I fething love that character. Ains is the biggest badass in such a long time. That epic facepalm as he shows how OP he is.

Please, please oh great anime Gods above, do not feth this show. I need more of this in my life.

Legally, for us fine folks in the US you'll have to use Funimation's streaming service.

Uggg, I hate their website.

It really is terrible.

And they seriously need to upgrade their servers, because the TV stream lag during peak hours is annoying.

Still, sometimes a crooked game is the only game in town.

This is the first season they're really doing the streaming thing though isn't it? I would not be surprised if they were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people interested in all the shows they're streaming. Fall 2015 should hopefully improve.

I know right? The expression on that commander's face when he was told how weak his strongest angel was is priceless

I'm starting Overlord - with the rave reviews, I feel like I'd be stupid not to!

I did watch about 10 episodes of Knights of Sidonia - that was quite good, I feel like it could be better though - the combat seems a bit same-y after a few episodes.

Yeah, Sidonia is really better when they are not killing the .... I forgot what they call the monsters.

And the sound-effects they use, make me think they are slapping a sheet of plywood with a 2x4. They need better foley work on that show.

I just don't get the comparison of this show to Kill la Kill.

To me, the comparison is more to Love, Chunibyo, and other Things.

Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill have a certain sort of exaggerated style that Overlord just doesn't have (as well as bad Kanto dialect).

Lastly.....

A recommendation:

Kyousougiga.

The show is a surrealist Anime dream.

@BeAfraid - It's not a comparison between styles. KLK and Overlord have a totally different feel, Overlord isn't "OVER THE TOP EVERYWHERE WITH LOADS OF HAM!!!!! ESCALATING UNTIL TWO GIANT MECHS ARE THROWING GALAXIES AT EACH OTHER!!". (and yes, that needs to be in caps to be accurate )

But the hype and excitement Overlord gives? Yeah, that felt KLK all the way. What I meant is that ever since KLK I haven't felt this much excitement with what's happening in an episode. The first half with the human wasn't good, it was excellent, the dude was kicking ass left and right and the dude felt like an awesome paladin but when Ains showed up in true serious mode, he just stole the show (and my heart).

It's Satsuki all over again, really, I have this fascination for "overlord" like characters probably ever since I saw Darth Vader for the first time as a kid. To me the bad guys will always be the rebels

Overlord is fun.. that's about all there is to it. Then again, so was KLK. I never understood the hype being that big for it.

As for hype anime though... and this may seem out of character for me...

I binged through everything that's out so far of Shokugeki no Shoma. (food wars in english I think). HOLY CRAP I LOVE THIS.

Well, I got very hyped with KLK, so we'll see if I end up the same as DraconicLord - though I've always had a soft spot for what TVtropes would call "Magnificent (Illegitimate offspring)" and cool villains, so I'm expecting that I'll enjoy Overlord quite a lot

Hey! The worst Kirk did was the green chick (Unless I am missing something).

I am completely down with anything that is at least shaped like a human girl.... Cat-girls, dog-girls, otter-girls, bird-girls... I might be ok with the Centaur (after seeing the doujinshi, and that they can make a centaur look pretty sexy).

But when they come attached to crustaceans.... I start to balk a little.... Bug-girls would be a problem.

I will happily allow Captain Kirk to do the honors of negotiating sensitive alien relations.

Ok, so Overlord is excellent, and Albedo's fangirling in ep4 is hilarious.
Momonga/Ains reminds me a little bit of Shiroe from Log Horizon, but I have a feeling he's going to get far more epic than the villain with glasses. I'm looking forward to ep 5
