No photos yet, no. Shadow Aelves were rumoured by Hastings I believe ages ago (he was correct about things like the Kharadron Overlords, and used to be one of the best rumour mongers for Warhammer Fantasy). I’m not sure if there’s been lore hints as well, but some of the rumour engine pictures would fit, such as the little drake thing on someone’s arm.

Well with an event/campaign focused on the Death faction it would make sense to finally release a solo Lord Relictor for Order

Ya know that would be tolerable I think.

And while we're at it, may as well make him a her and pad out the line of female Sigmarines. I'd buy one either way, provided the model is at least as good as the starter one.

But don't worry, it's never gonna happen. GW is not in the habit of giving me what I want.

One of the Realmgate Wars books had Slaanesh's forces searching for their god(dess) in the Realm of Shadows and engaging in battles with things that would attack them in the mists.

That fit with what the Fyreslayers book described the Shadowkin as doing. One of the lodges is mentioned as being in the Realm of Shadow and having adopted the fighting styles of the Shadowkin and commonly fighting alongside them.

Shadowkin are a known thing and even have two miniatures in Silver Tower, we just don't know much about them or when they are coming.

War of Sigmar has an article with the rules and a helmeted conversion of the new Sigmarine, for those who are interested:

So he's a special character... I hope there will be rules for generic version which is not bound to a specific stormhost...

How was this handled with Neave Blacktalon?

She is tied to a specific Stormhost(Hammers of Sigmar, same as Vandus Hammerhand and this new chap) as it stands right now.

With that said...
The only time that Stormhosts come into play is the Stormhost specific Warscroll Battalions(Hammers of Sigmar, Hallowed Knights, etc).

Spoiler:

Basically, you can take this guy by himself or as part of the "Lords of the Storm" Battalion.
Lords of the Storm is 1 Lord-Celestant(on Dracoth, foot, or Stardrake), 1 Lord Relictor, 0-1 unit of Gryph-Hounds, 1-4 Lord-Castellants or Lord-Veritants(any combination), and 3-15 Knights in any combination(Azyros, Venator, Heraldor, or Vexillor--winged Lantern guy, winged bowman, hornblower, and standard bearer).

Naeve doesn't even really have anything like that.

So how are people feeling about Captain Meatloaf's rules? It occurs me that if the rules are solid, one could use these rules with Knight Questor model, as that is a nice sword and board Stromcast mini with somewhat lacklustre rules.

Special character only means he can't get a command trait or artifact, being 'tied' to Hammers of Sigmar doesn't mean anything (that's a 40k thing). You could throw him into a different stormhost's battalion if you wanted. He can't go in a Lords of the Storm battalion though.

Hmm....

It's my goal to have every Stormcast in my growing skirmish-based force to be bareheaded, and even I don't have any urge to get Lord Meatloaf.

Hmmmm could be something to do with stormcast who have been corrupted/turned to Death, a 'star' that's fallen from the realm of heaven.

Falling stars/meteors also herald the arrival of Seraphon, perhaps they'll play a part?

In leaning toward this. This has possible connection with "The Icon" portent.

Yup. Nagash overshadowing Sigmar as the rising power.

Sigmar himself takes to the field...

Hey, if Nagash can do it so can Big S.

Oh, that seems ominous.

Personal theory is that It could be stars guiding the heroes to a distant "land" in Nagash's territory that the powers that be "ferry" them to due to Sigmar's lands being "corrupted".

I feel like if this was meant to represent Sigmar, it would be a twin-tailed comet, not a star.

Agreed, sigmar's star is falling as GW said the age of hope is dead.

For those who want to see the text GW put with this portent.

It's been grim-dark from the beginning if I'm going to be honest...

It's just the grim-dark was held at the gates of Azyr. Now that the light's coming back into the world, it can be snuffed out.

I liken it to the second Thor movie.

Asgard is a bastion of hope, order, and aid to the other Realms.
Their troops can actually put up a meaningful fight and give everyone else a chance...but when Asgard falls or is made to seem weak, what kind of effect does that have on everyone else?

Asgard being Azyrheim and Sigmar's realm makes this all work so well in my head.

Look if Nagash is running PR, what is it going to be but dark and gloomy?

I mean... if it's about Nagash, the God of Death, in the Realm of Death, populated largely by dead things, you kind of have to expect it to be at least a little grim.

I may have just joked about Nagash, and while some portents are definetely dead-y (the skeleton for instance), The fourth one sounds almost lovecraftian and there have of lovecraftian/shadowy aelves.

It is not going to be that bad. The setting is big enough that you can have both really dark stuff in one place and have really light stuff in another.
