I'm looking forward to seeing it painted, but the longer it remains unpainted, the more details I keep adding to it. Right now I'm considering options for detailing the armor plates.

Thanks !

In 5E D&D they are called Gazers. They are dreamed into existance by true Beholders, who find them amusing. They are't terribly smart, hunt vermin, and while they don't speak, they do mockingly mimic speach.

Just imagine adventurers walking through a dungeon on the lookout for a Beholder, and everything they say is being thrown back at them from the shadows by pint sized keclers.

I'm pretty happy about these. Sculpted and painted by me.

Okay, maybe not the invisible guy, but all the purple ones

My weekly 40K night has become a weekly D&D night, and probably will be until the spring. Painting these larger models has been fun.

Another Chaos Spawn

This one has some arms off of a dollar store, and a spine was formerly a plastic toy snake.

The rest of him is alluminum foil, toothpicks, hot glue, and half round beads.

I sculpted this guy a while back, while I was experimenting with making my own clay. Corn starch, baking soda, and water, and some beads for the eyes.

Thanks ! I'm quite pleased with how the Flail Snails came out.

Here are some updated pics of the Soul Grinder and my Fateweaver.

What material did you use to make the flail snails? Super Sculpey?

Yes. It was a good choice for this project and the color was just about perfect.

I like the variety in the flail snails' design. Is it a parent and two offspring?

I hadn't stopped to consider the genealogy of the Flail Snails, but sure, that makes as much sense as any other explanation

To be honest, I sculpted the first one without looking at the monster manual and assumed it was a "huge" monster from the pictures I was using for reference. After consulting the monster manual, the default Flail Snail is "large".

I figure I can just add 2 to her AC, attack, and Damage, while bumping her hit points, and she'll be good to go.

So, 8th Edition 40K has lured me back with it's Siren's Call, and I started making terrain, because I don't know what army I want to play first in 8E.

8th seems to have stirred things up a fair bit for most people.

The building is looking excellent, very reminiscent of the Necromunda scenery, nice shape.

The blue dudes are spectacular BTW, excellent work.

Thanks Guys !!

Yeah, 8th Edition definitely has my attention. Last week I built a Stompa, and this week I scratch built a Gorkanaut.

There are more W.I.P. Shots here

I've never layed my eyes on an actual Gorkanaut model, and didn't pay much attention to scale while building it. Just went full Ork and just added bits until it looked right.

Still need to add some heavy Shootas and Skorcha to it.

Looks crazy and awesome. Even I'm sniffing about the periphery of 8e.
