It is incredible how different apothecaries and sanguinary priests look. It is as if they are from two different companies. Even considering the huge time gap between them, it is extreme.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

How many Chapter Masters to the Blood Angels have?!

Easy...all of them!

Yeah GW has changed them quite a bit (for the better IMO) and given them a distinct look. As long as they have the Narthecium to tie it all together it works well regardless.

Ah that will happen soon than you think. I’ve been moving to a new place these past few days and once I’m settled in I plan on getting everything out (on the floor) for another big photo shoot!

Fantastic work. I have always thought those chapter master sculpts have held up. Great to see them painted up so nicely!

Looking forward to the big army shot - they are always a highlight!

Thanks IGtR! Still trying to get things sorted from my move but once I'm all settled in I'll be getting it all out for the shoot. Last time I did this a few years back, I needed a whole day to setup, shoot and tear down again so I suspect it will take just as long if not more now.

Thanks Eeps! Don't worry, I've found after dabbling in a variety of different hobbies these past 10+ years that with Warhammer 40k I always come back so expect me to keep posting for many more years to come...it'll be all Blood Angels till I run out of models to paint (unlikely) or GW stops making marines (even more unlikely!)

New update:

Had these two squads kicking around for a loooong time and though it was finally time I got around to painting them. These are the old (metal as usual) Mk1 and Mk2 Space Marine veteran squads...

Had a blast painting these guys and the move to 32mm bases makes them look all the more balanced.

Other than the chonky ax for the 2nd squad those have aged super well. Some of those older metal models were super nice.

Haha yeah funny you should mention that chunky axe as the head broke off completely when I was assembling the models and had to pin the bastard back on!

Quality work as usual. It seems like you crank these out so quickly, and always at such a high standard. How did you do the gold on the helmets?

is it a separate piece, or did it break? It's so thick, like breaking a metal dreadnought.

Thanks! I airbrush all my minis which gives it the nice gradient.

Thanks! I got a good wind with these guys with the work from home status these days which reduces my transit times which lets me swap for hobby time!

It was casted as a single piece but broke just after the hand. Wasn’t hard to fix so I just assume it was a bad cast.

Quick update with another metal model done and dusted. This time it's the special edition Space Marine sergeant with power fist and bolter that first came out in 2008 to celebrate the GW webstore.

Another quick update. Been moving the past month to an apartment and first time in years since I've been able to get my own dedicated hobby room/office so I'll be setting up a new display case and getting everything back out of storage boxes/cases. Have the detolfs from years ago but been eyeing the Milsbo from Ikea or thinking about going the commercial display case route as well.

Until then, here are two more bikers that were finished recently:

Two more HQs to add to my collection from the Dark Vengeance boxset with the Dark Angel iconography scraped off and painted up as Blood Angels:

Thanks! Yeah I've been painting lots of models lately with robes so I've got a pretty good system down which balances speed with results.

terrific work as always eggroll. Another +1 on the robes.

Not surprising, but you've done an excellent job on making them look like natural blood angels.

Thanks guys!

In other news, I've finally started settling into my new place and getting my workspace setup again. Unfortunately my new office doesn't have a window that opens so I'm not able to get my airbrush booth setup. I've been thinking about getting a good air purifier and hoping that will be enough to cut down on the overspray.

Also need to get a new display case as I sold the two old detolfs I had from before. Been eyeing the Milsbo from Ikea...not sure if anyone has any experience with it?
