Absolutely gorgeous speeders and dogs! The thing about White-furred dogs, is that THEY have no clue they are white, and they really don't care either lol. Mud is just a way for them to LOVE you more!

hey nerdy... remember the tut about verdigris recently? well i put it down to good use today... unfortunatly as it is related to a secret project i am workiung on i am atm unable to show what i did... but i can prove that the addition of dheneb stone to a turquis paint gives a really splendid looking verdigris effect...

and i am glad to be of help/use... that link is saved for quite a long time now... i am glad it was still working ... not many of my older links worked as i´ve looked for that one...the web is in constant movement...

I'm wondering, for your marble tutorial, how well do you think it'll hold up to other colours?

@ nOt_u: yep, I reckon it'll be fine with other colours mate :-) I will attempt another shade on a storm shield this week and post up on tuesday or wednesday if you like?

Sure, maybe a dark colour or black. I was thinking of a more unusual colour like purple or pink as well, but I'm probably just better off experimenting with that by myself.

well i say verdigris... i think marble looks best on flater surfaces? but that might be the fun in the challenge then balls back to you

@ Vik: i'm leaning towards Verdegris on the statues and marble on the broken aquila's? but I really want to paint a marble statue! :-) although i don't want to fork out money for 3 kits! and i can't have my statues not matching! that's just crazy talk!!!

WOW, never seen the collectables before! so cool! but just a tad expensive for painting over maybe if I get a second job? Hmmmmm and those ones in that thread are great! I'd love to know if he considered selling the standing statues? they'd be perfect for a lined shrine!

Glad I found this! I am going to borrow your skeleton+vehicle technique! Just looked up Wargames Factory and can't believe you can get 30 skeletons for so cheap! (no bases but I won't need those!)

Hey sicksick, I'm gonna do up my 2 rhino's with the skellies as well, and the box i got of them came with a bunch of square bases? they're easy to use as far as the skeletons go :-) just sand the back of the ribs down a bit so they fir flat against the hull and you're sweet! my next project using the skeleton theme (fits my army I think) is a big mean Storm Raven with the Chapterhouse studio Tru scale extension :-) Ooooh can't wait!

hey guys, I promised nOt_u i'd play around with some different marble colours for him I tried a black vein, green and purple vein marble, they work pretty well imo but would look much better with the details painted on the shields then I painted over them and did my usual colour on them all for my termies

here they are together:

Then i repainted them like this

They worked out nicely.

Those look awesome Nerdy. I'm going to have to come up with an excuse to learn this as it's been something I've wanted to do for a long time now. The gold flecks (or any alt color) are a big improvement in my mind. Really make it jump. Bravo my friend. Excellent work!

Why thank you Mr Gitsplitta! it's nice to have another feather in my painting cap so to speak! I can now confidently paint it and show anyone without hesitation which is a nice feeling! you totally need to try it out mate on anything, maybe a statue or floor inlay on a base?

hmmm..... at first i liked the black marble effect the best.... when you added the golden flecks i was totally sold on that...the brownish tho i think is the best so far... looks the most lifelike in my opinion...

More more more! yes I did more! I got this bit of laser cut plastic to use as broken glass in my buildings today looks good, the pics don't really do it justice but I'll try and show you best I can what it looks like o.k!

Next step is to add some weathered boards across some windows made from paddle pop sticks and aged somehow?

Aaaaand i got these 3 posters for the Nerd room off ebay! the quality is fantastic and 10x better than what i expected!! the Nerd room will never look as good as now!




finally after a lot of procrastination and bad feelings of letting someone down for the last couple of tiring months I finally got paint on some Devastators for Pyriel! I started them ages ago but wasn't happy and ended up stripping them and starting again! but made huge headway today even though I didn't have ANY scorpion green! so i had to attempt it with Camo green instead as my highlight mix colour and it worked lovely! really nice shades and I'm very pleased with the colour, I just wish I had noticed a couple of mold lines i missed when cleaning them hopefully they won't be pronounced when they're done?

The windows look great. See if you can find a model railroading shop in your area... the MRRs make a number of stains designed to make wood look aged. I've got a number of them from my MRR days and they really work!

The windows turned out nice, I think, but I particularly like the Heretic Mutant Xenos poster. Can't wait for the comic....

I really like the way the broken windows came out. Have you thought of adding a glaze of white or off-white to suggest age and grime built up? The weathering on the buildings just seems to yearn for weathering on the windows too.

Cheers guys! I will finish the Devs next week and send them off to Pyriel but not before taking more pictures of course! :-) it was strange as i painted them, for a while now I've wanted to do another force using older mk's of armour etc. and Mantis warriors kept creeping into my head! (Damn you Gits!)

Moltar, great idea about dirtying the windows up! I was unsure how to do it so it still looked good scale wise but a white wash could be the key, i'll have a crack when i find some stain that Gits suggested and do the boards, and if i can't find one then I'll just wing it ;-)

Well gak on me....those broken windows look the gak man! Im gunna go ahead and stick that in the ol memory banks
