Ok, here are the final pics of the mega-uber-WAAAARGH!nificent paint-a-thon! Finally done all of the undercoated freestanding models (well - all the ones I intended to paint).
Here are the pictures of what has been done:
(Slightly dodgy pic here)
Random nob
Grots and Handlers (converted)
And a picture of the entire painted horde in all it's WAAARGH!-nificent glory!
Here is a rough inventory:
6 Rokkit Koptas
7 Shoota Koptas
6 Trukks
1 Battlewagon
3 Rokkit Buggies
13 bikes and nobs
1 Biker Warboss
1 Wazzdakka
1 S.A.G.
1 Weirdboy
1 Painboy and Orderly
13 Stormboyz and Nob
20 Nobs
3 Meganobs
3 Kans
about 40 'ard Boyz
about 100 Boyz
about 24 Burna Boyz
about 20 Commandos and nob
12 Flash Gitz
6 Mekboyz
1 Ghazghkull
About 20 Tankbustas and 6 Bombsquigs
25 Grots
3 Slavers
Now to consider the next parts of the army - later -
At the moment I'm finishing off the 35 or so praetorians I've been meaning to paint up as a commission for the last 18months or so and then to decide what is next.

Now this is the true spirit of what an Ork army should be. As many Orks as you can possibly fit on the table without it giving way to the weight! But seriously, this is one hell of an army. Very nicely painted too

What did you use to get the glowy blue effect on the bike lights and on the slime from the pipe under the Nob?
It looks awesome

The army seems to work out about 5000 - 5500 pts...roughly... so that's pretty cool. I didn't think there was THAT many points worth, I was thinking more like 3500 but I sure was wrong about that!
For the glow effects it is really dependent on what colour I start with, and I build it up to white or close to white. The Pipe is a turpoise and jade green type mix-up and the lights are a turqoise and or light blue.
Ok, well here are some close ups of the Grots for now. I think I might do some other close ups as time goes on. There's just too much to photograph and post pics of all at once. So I'll do it here and there as the spirit moves me...
Here be the grots. They are a combination of the snotlings, gretchin, gnoblars and little plastic dudes I found that I don't know where they are from and a pile of strange weapons (they look like they might be from VOID I think - don't know how I got them).
First the handlers - converted from plastic nobs basically. 2 Grabbas and 1 Grotprod:

Looks like Necromunda weapons. There was a cool metal sprue you could order from GW that had a ton of different weapons on it. Unfortunately, they've since canceled that along with all the other stuff.

The grabbas are a combination event...plasticard for one of the grabba ends, the other is made out of hooks off the boarding planks from a new trukk, and the handles are a combination of plastic rod and biker nob 'uge choppa handles. The handle for the grotprod is the same way, and the head is part of the 'uge choppa head and one of the glyphs.

you have quite the impressive army!!! I really like how every thing
looks so rustic and orky. how do you get those raised dirt bases? It looks really cool when the orks are standing on their own little mountain top.

The bases are basically cork roughed up with sand glued on in most cases. If you would like to see more then you'll need to go check out my triple stompa action post. That's going to be fun
