A not so finished cherub, just looking for feedback on the layering on the robes.

Now my entry for golden demon next year, I shall be entering it in young bloods as I doubt my entry would even be accepted in any other category , and this will be my last year of being able to enter youngbloods. He will be a spacewolf, I will follow the 'eavy metal masterclass to try to get him just right. He also has a display base.
Feedback about the model much appreciated BEFORE I prime him, also any tips on what I could do to notch him up a level as far as paint methods are concerned.

Model based on last year's gamesday model.

I cut off the topknot and repositioned it to show direction

I put tank tracks in the polyfilla I used on the base to add a little bit of story, hunt the chaos rhino spacewolf, HUNT!

Also some resin basing stuff in there, including the wolf's dicarded helm.

Used this in the deepest recesses for pooled water, and an ink wash on the rest.

OK, any reason?
After thinking about it now, I'm torn between wolves and white scars.
All depends on comments and whether there are any white scars masterclasses.
The topknot comes with the wolf and I used it to convey direction, but if it's just me thinking what I've done is better than it is (I know I'm not innocent of that) then I'll lop it off

I like the topknot personally, it would go better with wolves IMO. The base is looking pretty sweet, once you finish some of the details it will come together more. I lost track of this thread a while ago and am glad to have found it again. Keep up the good work!

I think that the topknot would look better raised a bit more.

eagerly awaiting more,

@stretch: thanks, gonna paint the details once I know if it's gonna be wolves or scars, nice to see you found me again.
@deadly chicken: by raised do you mean at the back of the head, or greenstuffed higher, or something else entirely?

Remember they'll be a lot of Space Wolfs at the Golden Demon doing White Scars might well make it stand out far more!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

@Llamahead: Godd point, hadn't considered that, there certainly are a lot wolves as I look back, and with the new codex...
@deadly chicken: I see, my greenfu is feeble. I just did some gap filling on the model and even that looks awful. :(

Sorry about being quiet of late, sadly I have been swamped by homework and after a four(ish) break from painting I picked up a brush and failed...completely. I am going to work myself up from basic painting to the standard I was working at over half term, I hope...
So expect in this order:
Scout cc squad
Finished cherub
Scout company captain
Then, after much deliberation Vostroyan standard bearer

Better pics of red and silvers thanks to the light box:

@Deadlychicken: Fine, you spot me th £12 for the box set to make up that one model

A (still) not so finished cherub, he need snow, which I do not have and will not for some considerable time.
I have sketched out a 500pt list for the legion's cherub/ serfs/ failed aspirants comprising of 2 squads of penal legion (plague monks with new heads), 1 squad vets (redemtionists from necromunda + the redeemer and Malakev) primaris phsyker (Astropath model) and phsyker battle squad (ringwraiths).

Two pieces in and already side tracked, a new record!
Crashed Aquila for my lunar table.

Fusion core set to blow!
