I spoke with Matt by phone this afternoon. He is having his friend go to his complex office to get a key to his apartment. He'll then get the numbers to us. Over the phone he does come across as very contrite and blames himself for these issues. Rightly so, but it's good to hear him say so himself. He claims that some folks over on WarSeer have gotten their packages but at this time I've no way to confirm that. He also complained about getting hate mail and even a threatening phone call from people with whom he's had no dealings. If that's coming from members of this board it needs to stop. I can't imagine what sort of demented dipstick would think that that helps those of us who are awaiting shipments, it doesn't. Should the promises he made to me today turn out to be untrue then he'll have used up every tiny drop of kindness I'm willing to extend to him.

He also seems to think that it will not be much longer before his wife passes away. So regardless of our issues with him and his inability to fulfill his commitments he deserves at least some slack if it's true. Yes, we've given him a lot already. But knowing someone you love is sick and could die is a walk in the park compared to knowing that they will die very soon.

I received a rather heated e-mail from Matt. I will await my tracking number...

this is just a little advice to redstarone. (just friendly not trying to defend anyones actions) Even if your associate did not pay for delivery confirmation I hope he kept the receipts from the post office. This can help you defend against criminal complaints.

And advice to anyone is that if you receive packages often that need signatures try a Mailbox etc type store as they will often sign for packages. Hope everyones stuff gets resolved.

no one here is headhunting or out to hurt Matt. we're trying to resolve unfinished business with Matt. the person emailing Matt is not an example of this crowd, by any stretch. not to say that the TOOL sending those horrid emails isn't on here. we have respect for what Matt is going through. but we are also to the point that his business with us needs to be resolved. he has admited himself that most of this is his fault. for example, why would he take on your job, given his wife's so close to having her problems possibly turn for the worst? as a matter of fact, he told me he was giving up this hobby once the people on Dakka had our issues resolved. to me, i think he's putting himself in a "bad" situation by taking your job, at this moment.

and lastly, the Mods have and are doing a fantastic job. no 2 ways about it. professional and fair. you're a little new still. if you stick around Dakka for a while, you'll see what i mean. that said, i hope you do get to see Dakka as a whole, and not through the prism of this TR.

I am too crazy busy at the moment with work stuff to make a long post, but I just want to chime in quickly and say that the Mods at dakka have been great, but more importantly I want to say to whomever IS sending harrassing emails/phone calls to Matt about all of this - please stop. Matt is in a bad way with a bunch of people, he knows that, but bombarding him with inflammatory messages does nothing constructive; it is merely punitive.

Alright folks, this thread is getting out of hand now. We've continuously requested to keep non-relevant chatter and pile-on attacks away from this thread but those requests haven't been followed. I'm locking this for the time being to let some people cool off about this thread (a thread which there's understandably been lots of frustration involved in the first place). This is not to say that this Issue is "dead", just that people obviously are having trouble with not posting unhelpful "pile-on" attacks.

Furthermore, if you don't have actual dealings with RSO, please do not harass him outside of Dakka (or in Dakka, for that matter). Not only are you guys really just egging on an already touchy situation, it's also unbecoming behaviour and very poor reflection on Dakka.

In any event, I'm locking this thread. To any involved, please PM me with updates, and I'll unlock the thread when there're new developments.

Ok, this thread is being re-opened so that the involved parties can have a communal location in which to work together to get things resolved somehow.

Considering that there've already been 2-3 requests by the Swap Mods in this thread to refrain from pile-on attacks and/or generally unhelpful comments, there'll be no leniency toward such posts for the rest of the life-time of this thread.

I still don't have my tank, but over the last several days Matt has busted his ass to keep me in the loop. As soon as he can get to a fax machine he will be sending a letter to his land lord's office authorizing his buddy to go into his apt. and then get us copies of DC numbers.

Matt has been in contact with me, and hopefully a solution will be reached this week.

I will continue to keep you all updated on the progress.

i am in good contact with matt, and have great faith that he is doing everything possible to sort any situations that need attention..... (including mine )

Tracking number received on my "extras" package. These have been sent as a way of compensating me for the 4-month delay. He will also be dispatching a USPS money order this week, to compensate me for my project costs.

I shall keep you all informed of further developments.



@Cypher- I would ask that you carefully choose your wording, as some involved in this may see them as intentionally inflammatory. I would like to see this thread continue to be available as a resource for those of us that are less optimistic. I'm not saying you meant anything by them, but we must all be careful, considering the tensions that have arisen.

Matt sent me a USPS priority mail tracking number this evening. His friend must have cocked it up and the Post Office dutifully redelivered the package to Matt. It should be in my hands Wednesday. Cross your fingers gents.

It's apparently a re-send. It arrived via Priority Mail. A little broken and missing a few of the bits that were sent with it to be used in the conversion. But it's here and with quite a gentlemanly apology.

I started a transaction with Matt last June for 5 Catachan Rough Riders on Cold Ones.

He told me they were done in July but due to unexpected bills I was unable to pay him until September.

I was in email contact with him through early October 2009 then I heard nothing until February 2010 after I had sent basically the same email 5 or 6 times.

When I heard from him in February I even offered to cover half the shipping cost once the models arrived, I didn't hear back from him about that.

In April I sent him an email basically telling him I was giving up and I wouldn't bother him any further.

Then out of the blue I got this:

I believe it corresponds with the begining of this thread (or pretty close to it). Of course I haven't heard another peep from him since. I did email him around 6/4/10 when it was suggested in the thread that those waiting on items do so.

Matt - if you are reading this I would just love to get some sort of resolution to this transaction.

as of yet i have no package or tracking #. and am still waiting for RSO to get in touch with me.

Money Order received for partial refund (as agreed upon). Paypal invoices have been sent for remainder, but Matt has started to make things right by me. I think he is tying up his loose ends now, guys.

For what it's worth, I feel for the guy and hope things turn around for him someday.

I have received my box of additional items from Matt. This was to compensate me for the time/effort that was involved in resolving this.

Later this week or early next week, he will be sending a Money Order that will refund the value of my project, which has gone missing in the mail.

Were you able to get the original tracking number?

Interesting find, and provided that nothing on there is something that someone in this group is waiting for, hopefully this means business is returning to normal for RSO?

I'd say that is a positive indication that Matt is trying to resolve all of these issues.

He mentioned to me that the Money Order would be dispatched when he had the funds to cover it, so this would certainly be a way for him to generate some cash-flow.
