@Sageheart: I know, I've been meaning to work on them for some time but almost all my time at the moment is taken up with commission work.

@taffiarti: I'm glad you found my painting tutorial useful if you've got any questions about any of the stages feel free to ask. Commission work does take up most of my time but I prefer it that way as it means money is coming in. I will be making some progress on these though as I've got a tournament on the 20th that I need an army ready for.

As for an update here's a picture of the assault squad with all the base colours added:

I've managed to finish all of the bodies for the assault marines and here they are:



Still got to do the shoulder pads and backpacks but I'd at least be happy to field them on the table now.

Looks neat mate! May I ask how you did the yellow on the helmets?

I was thinking about writing a tutorial about how I painted the yellow helmets as it's probably not how you'd imagine. Do you think people would find it useful if I did?

Any tutorial is always helpful, there is always someone that it will help.

Considering how awkward most people find painting yellow, I suspect the community would welcome it. I'm certainly very curious considering your "not how you'd expect'.

can we have a group shot of all of your army so far?

I've still got a few more Yellow Helmets to do so I will definitely do a tutorial at some point.

Why did you decide to go 4 missile launchers rather than a mix?

No particular reason, just personally I just think Dev squads have a bit more tactical options with various weapons, i.e plasma cannons for terms/2+ save squads or lascannon for tanks. Just mix it up a bit really. Obviously missile launchers are good solid options with krak with AP3 and frag with template but I was just curious as to the reasons why 4 of them. Is they some uniform/theme behind it?

Fair do's, I myself often run 2 Long Fangs packs, one with all ML, the other with 3 Lascannons and 2 PC

I wish I was any good at faces. The level of detail and subtle highlighting on those are great! Keep it up and keep it coming, I know we all love to see your stuff!

I've got a 750 point tournament coming up soon and my list includes to Dev Squads with 4 missle launchers each as they're nice and cost effective and can be used against anything.

I've also been working on a librarian to accompany the assault squad. He's made from parts from the Death Company Boxset and the Grey Knights Boxset aswell as a resin base from Dragon Forge Designs. Here's a picture of all the parts that will be involved:

I've just finished some greenstuff work on the Librarian adding curved horns to the skull icons on him to show his rank as a Librarian.

Plastic librarians for the win! Working on my own as we speak. Unlike most the lazy PAGK kitbashes one sees yours looks great. As usual your painting is fantastic.

@Prekustin: Thanks for the compliments I don't really like any of the librarian sculpts GW produces so deciding to make a converted one was an easy decision.

On another note I had my first 40k tournament this past weekend. It was a doubles tournament and I used my blood angels with my team mate using Orks.

Despite us never having played in a tournament before and me only having played about 2 games of 5th edition (one of which was the night before) We managed to come home with trophies for 2nd place. Even managed to get the same number of points as first place with 2 wins and 2 tables but got beaten by them in the finals which I'd like to think was because the game ended on turn 3 as the hall had to close for the night.

All in all a great weekend and for those that are interested here's the list I took:

Your work is just coverd in awesomesauce After reading this blog i am definatly going to check out yout tutorial on how you paint them up. I'm not painting BA, but my main colour is red. I am sure that i could definatly learn something from you.
