More work with the new airbrush.

Justed used this steath suit to practice on. Now that I've got proper thinners from vallejo, I've had no problems with clogging when spraying.

With the duel control airbrush, it's very easy to get close. I'm happy that I was able to spray this SM head without too much over spray.

So undercoated the termie lord.

Looking good! If you're interested, Tamiya paint thinner is quite good, although the bottles are difficult to pour from.

Nice idea. Will you bulk out the back of the head any? This is showing definite promise and well done on the airbrush. Ive been wanting to pick one up for a while for non mini related work but seeing how well you sprayed that marine helmet Im impressed.

Thanks Bio, yes the back of the head needs to be bulked out, it's a bit to flat, and looks funny on the end of the neck.

Yep airbrush is so cool, you neeeed!! Going to try next highlight soon, so hope I can have some pics up later.

Even more horns!!!! I like your style I will see if any more will fit.

I made a big mistake today, I was too lazy to get the light while spraying. Only had the livingroom light on. So I could not se the colour properly. Thus sprayed the torso too much, losing the blend I wanted.

Legs are ok.

Will a wash help, or should I spray darker colour again?

Hey, tipios, just had a chance to look through your blog. Very nice work. I really like your conversions on the raptors, and I appreciate the pictures showing what you did on them. The terminator lord looks great; I really love the scourge wings on this guy. I'm looking forward to seeing him painted.

Spray your darker colour again. A wash won't give you the same result as on the legs.

Yeah, I'd say spray again.

And you can never have enough horns. Or spikes. Or skulls.

Thanks, I am going to go over them again, because I want the tips to be black all the way down, and as you can see I over prayed at the bottom, I need to get modeling masking tape

Started on the legs NMM. I've only done 2 colours and it already looks metalic, although its not goning the same colour as the staff, because I forgot what colours I used.

I need to get a light box or something. Taken pictures and trying to get the colours to look the same as in real life is a pain!!

Anyway I want to do a wash. I've seen many vids where people are using oil washes, after they airbush a figure. The oil wash seems to go into the edges better. When I use a black vallejo wash, it all seems to go wrong. Can I ad something to the wash that makes it go into the edges more?

Progress so far.

Ther Terminator Lord is looking great, tipios. The blue looks good, and I really like the metallics and the bones. Great stuff.

I get why you want a light box (I need to get one, too), but I really like the second picture where the wings are blurred in the backgrpund.

On oil washes, my understanding is that, since they dry slowly, you can go back and wipe off the stuff you don't want on the model. I know Meph uses them on his Blood Angels. Here's his description of how to use oil washes.

Wow. And I really do mean

The Terminator Lord is looking SO very good! The NMM is excellent, the post is dynamic, the wings are so spot-on for fluff... excellent model and I am really looking forward to seeing it completed.
