It's in a state of yet unfinished conversion, so it's not primed. Actually, i was talking about THIS model.
Alrighty then, you are entered my friend (wink)!

I find that the best way to push yourself is to put yourself in situations where everyone overachieves. That way, you know you did your best when one of the guys, who btw happens to amazing paint jobs on anything 3 inches or smaller, says " good job. Keep up the good work." Thats what i do and i've been pushing myself into even bigger situations, hence why i'm here now. It's a contest against not only people I marvel at anytime i view their work, but a contest against my previous best, and setting the bar higher for everything else to come out of my work.
That, and great job everyone so far! can't wait til the end of November to see everyones finished models.

That right there!
Putting all my effort into my projects (even fun ones like this one) gives the best results.
I love threads like this because everyone pushes themselves to do better then what they've already done.
If you don't strive to go above and beyond what your already capable of then whats the point?
As an artist I'm always evolving and anything that kicks my ass into overdrive to complete things is for the better. I'm sure everyone was joking..... hopefully..... right?
Deep philosophical thoughts here, guys! I like it!
Some more work has been done on my entry, and I have to say I really like it. Makes me want to have a squad...
Whatcha think?

Thanks @CS! Yeah, it's still very rough at this point. I'm going to do something like a rim around the collar, some little rivets and extra armor on the front. Battle damage, extra ammo rounds and possibly a respirator and filter pack. And maybe a visor to go over the top of the helmet. So yeah that's where we are going with this. And then paint and weathering. FW masterclass FTW!

I'm really looking forward to see the progress on this one
And my 5 cents on the off-topic here - I do not think of it as an Overachivement.. You just imagine a goal and aim to make it as much close to the picture in your head as possible. Thanks to the Maker, our body is such a good thing that it helps you to do it better with every next try, do you whant it or not

Sorry guys haven't been able to upload any pics due to family problems. Sadly I won't be able to upload anything till later this week. however I have some fluff:
Spoiler:
Prorak Ghor ran through the space hulk corridors. He'd been informed by his mistress that genestealers were on this hulk, and he was wary. The other Xenos species had wiped out the rest of his tribe, they'd infiltrated into the clan through the flesh he had made them eat. Guilt had consumed him and he'd ran off and became a mercenary, and whilst on a planet in the Sentina sub-sector his mistress; Inquisitor Flore Mortifero, had employed him. His thoughts were interupted as a genestealer came throught the ceiling of the corridor. He raised his Krossbow and fired. Revenge would be sweet.

My update will also be in text form. I have almost finished painting the body of my marine I still have to paint the head, shield and backpack. I have exams this week and will have very little time to update this blog on my progress. With all the study I've been doing it's a wonder I have even had time to finish what I have atm. On the first weekend after the exams I will have it finished it just needs another couple hours. I will update with pics then.
And I'm really liking what everyone has done so far. Great work storag, that GS work is awesome. @theQuanz that's gotta hurt. I almost did the same thing once. I have cut the webbing of my thumb though when a knife slipped.

@Unluckyguardsman: That's pretty sweet! The bio suit is spot-on.
@theQuanz: The models are looking cool, unlucky about cutting your foot though.
@storag, as I said on your blog I love your orks, keep up the good work and I can't wait to see them finished!
I'm stoked to get started on painting the Librarian, I am waiting for my instamold to come in so I can finish the left shoulder pad, then painting begins!

@Unluckyguardsman: The new collar is looking really good! You'll have to give me a mini tutorial on how to get all of those curves. I'm not sold on the torso armor yet. What's your plan there? Also, what kind of gun will he be weilding? It's not quite clear atm.
@theQuanz: Forgive me if I'm not up to speed on my fluff, but does the Inquisition have librarians?
@storag: It'll be cool to see your unit of "tru-skale boyz" all together. You have a paint scheme worked out yet?
Well, here is what I've got done on Petr tonight:
I think he's about 95% finished now. I'm pretty happy with my first attempt at OSL
Spoiler:
(speaking of which, I was in Oslo last weekend and saw a tourist manual with the title "I <3 OSL" I got a good laugh out of it)
I thought the tau bit on the base was fitting, given the fluff that I wrote for him.
CC would be greatly appreciated, as always!
Good luck everyone!

Rawson - He is with the Death Watch I had that extra bit cut off from one of my old "Inquisitor" models (don't remember his name off the top of my head) and figured it would make a great addition to his armor.

Fantastic work everyone!! I love the paintjob rawson, and storag, you know my thoughts on your brilliant GS work. Everyone else's entries look top notch as well. I feel slightly embarressed that i have done literally ZERO modeling on quite possibly the cheapest mini ever, but either way here it is...slight WIP pic, ill post more pics later from the back side. Had a little misshap with the ice effect on his helm and gun but what able to fix it. Some more details needed on the face, some good suggestions that i've yet to do. Also, the base is most likely place holder...heres another WIP of my tundra guardsman
Created a cool base thingy for Marneus Calgar and his squad today. Hope you like it. More updates on the big man himself soon!
Sorry, the pics are rubbish because I had to use flash, on the finished result IRL they look the same as my normal bases, just on a larger scale, you'll see it when it's done

The collar is two thin plasticard strips bent in semi circles over the collar. the base of the collar was a rectangle with two strips that could be bent around to form a 3/4-rectangle on the neck joint. A strip of thin plasticard was added around the collar as well to add more depth, and then 2 rivets were applied. If I do another then I will most certainly take pictures. As to the torso armor, I realize it is a bit off center. I'll be cutting it down a we bit and re positioning it. I think it will sort of mimic the cadian armor but with a control panel on the outside to adjust the internal stuffs. The gun is going to be a shotgun without the clip that's on there now and possibly without the stock. Just a suitably brutal weapon. Taken from here:
Basically, in our Deathwatch campaign, there is a radical Inquisitor who is performing genetic experiments using humans and tyranids. These 'hybrids' are very volatile and must be contained either in stasis or in large containers/cages. Guardsmen in these specially designed 'bio-suits' are used to extract the hybrids and bring them to the labs for further testing. They are also used to eliminate those hybrids that are either no longer useful or too dangerous.
So the weapon needs to be an enforcer over short distances.
Hope that answers a few questions!

C and C appreciated...especially on the base...
I like the ice effect you've got going on there! How do you make that? It looks like you have two different things going on: snow flock on the base, and some sort of ice creation on the model itself. Am I even close? One little bit of CC on it though: the clump on the stock of the lasgun seems a bit too large. The rest looks pretty realistic like it's been snowing and the snow accumulated in certain places. The bit by the stock looks like he's saving a snowball to chuck at someone
For the base, you could have him walking on some water effects with a frozen grot inside. That would be pretty sweet!

Do you heat up the plasticard? Or just glue it in place?

Those are great ideas! I agree about the ice build up. Unfortunately its because i screwed up previous to that by adding an incorrect ice mix. If you look on my blog youll see what i mean. Its fuzzy. Looks like . I had to add the correct ice mix on TOP of what was previously there. Oh well. Lessons learned eh? The correct mixture, thanks to steingass, is superglue + snow flock. It hardens quickly though so best be fast about it. The base is meant to look like fresh powder. So its several layers of basic flock on top of each other. Watery PVA added then sprinkle more... Again though, the base it place holder or will be edited more Thanks for the C and C
