In relation to that first cover, do the Blood Angels have a special weapon that vaporizes skin and muscles, but not bone?

Either that, or the planet has indigenous flesh eating beetles that work very quickly.

I take it you've never heard of a bloodvaporator? It's an equipment option for Blood Angels sergeants and Captains in the current BA codex.

One day, I shall have to try and find the orginal Bloodquest comic. My county's libraries have a single copy of volume 2 in circulation, which I was therefore able to read,but not the first volume...

If you have 30 dollars to spare you can get it on BL's website in the Book of Blood

A few snippets and odds and sods from BL Live and around the gaff.

BL will continue to use both Big Finish and Heavy Entertainment in the production of the audio books/dramas.

From.... Sep..?... Oct.... later this year anyway we can and should expect about 1 audio drama per month, some being direct/download only.

There's scheduled releases concerning Space Wolves, Blood Angels, and Gotrek and Felix, and further HH ones of course.

Talk of double disc release Space marine battles dramas, with the 2nd disc containing "special features".

They do plan, for now, to keep releasing the audio dramas in text/story form. The Night Lords one features in Treacheries of the Space Marines I believe. There is some talk about possible P.O.D. versions of the scripts, no idea how this would impact upon the current release of those tales in print form.

Butcher's Nails is most enjoyable, I especially liked the sound effects for when Lorgar hits....people.... with his maul.
Angron sounds quite like Gotrek IMO, which is apt.

Finished Voidbringer which is actually quite beautiful in a way IMO. Certainly a fitting ending... (..? !...) for the series. I think the way that one does kind of wind up rotting for, essentially, psychopathic murderers does mighty credit to Mr. Dembski-Bowden's writing.

If you enjoyed the previous books in the series then I suspect you'll love this one.

Reading "Architect of Fate" currently : enjoyed Mamzel Cawkwell's tale, which is suitably atmospheric and I do like the way she links things to the broader 40k universe.

The 2nd tale from Mr. Hinks features the Relictors and is... alright. damning him with faint praise there mayhaps, certainly full of good ideas and some interesting characters, just felt the structure could perhaps have done with a wee bit more work to get it right. Suitably confusing given the story though I guess and I applaud the experimentation in the style as well.

Oh huzzah! Since I am never going to listen to an audio drama of theirs, this is great news.

Well, there we have it folks, we pay €15,00 for fifteen short stories and if we all bind them together maybe we'll get a novella out of it.

Well, Im using adobe digital editions. "officially" it would read as 4 pages worth of story (10with cover etc.) but thats a paragraph and a half per page. So Ill stick with 2 pages.

Black Library facebook confirms these stories are 1,000 words long. Not impressed BL, not impressed. They are literally nickel and diming us now.

Years ago this was the kind of thing that would have gone into an issue of WD, as a nice little bonus (perhaps alongside a battle report). Now you have to pay for it.

First negative mark I think BL (except the price of digital downloads, which again I think are a little high).

Pfft, BL isn't holy one bit. Back when they were reprinting their graphic novels into collected bundels the size of novels the page quality was so gak that in some cases it was a pixelated mess. Their reply: tough.

I'm so glad that we've only got 14 more days of adverts/news/push for... 14 more 2 page stories!

I hope that there's at least some good HH themed ones in the batch...

My thoughts exactly. Back in the day WD used to have some really good short stories in it and y'know....was worth buying.

Just as a note Digital downloads in the UK include VAT. Where as books are exempt data is not, this and the tiny price of printing explains the surprisingly high cost of ebooks.

Blood Blessing sounds like it might be a little longer than 2 pages.

Yes, although e-books are considerably cheaper from almost every other source. Although I admire BL for rolling with the times and giving the e-book option, I shouldn't be able to buy a printed copy of an actual book (inc. delivery) for a lower price than an e-book download.
