I was referring to the story as a whole, and yes. Those two things never go well together. to make good action scenes the balance of power needs to be somewhat equal for the most part. with a few exceptions of course. And blanks have that effect on daemons/ psykers in general

I have a problem with making fight scenes one sided too. My suggestion is have at least one moment in the fight where the protagonist could lose (like he's knocked off balance and could potentially be stabbed in the face) and have at least one moment where he's in pain (like if he's knee'd in the groin or has his foot chopped off). It seems to help me, so it might help you.

However, a one sided fight is okay every once in awhile. The Sopranos, one of the most acclaimed television series of all time had a lot of one sided 'whackings'. If someone comes up behind you with a gun and you're unarmed, odds are that you're not gunna last long.

The hit scenes in the Sopranos suited the genre however... and they were believable...
If you put a 24 year old with a talent for sword play against a 14 foot, thousand year old monster whose only purpose existing is to kill things then there needs to be a better reason for him to win than 'He's good with a sword'

purplefood I tried to explain away how Carrus could spar with things above him with the sword he is wielding. I must admit I have changed him a lot. Just go private for the details, but I have a strong suspicion that you would like the Carrus of the past who was just a lucky meltagunner with a very mean streak to the Carrus you have read about.

Plus I added sword that can beat demons as a premium with the blank-powered swords I already have here, and as an added bonus is soul-bound as a major reason for it.

The blank powered sword that shoots fireballs?
Yeah that seems perfectly sensible... the soul bound doesn't make much sense either...
The Carrus i have read about shot 100 cadets for knowing about a person...
It's not that i don't appreciate a character willing to commit senseless violence or even violence they think will give them an edge. I just find it odd how a cadet of a political/discipline corps of a brutal authoritarian military force can shoot 100 of his fellow cadets and get off totally free... and you keep mentioning these 'doting teachers' but really at that point they just look like idiots for letting themselves be led around by Mr MassMurder there...

purplefood, the black fireballs slang both commissar and Incubus aside due to the reaction the blades had to eachother. They slammed through walls for the sake of the Emperor.

You can or cannot accept the soul-binding. It's my poor attempt to explain anything in my fan-fiction.

Carrus executed over 100 people that resembled a greater demon which he earlier had encountered, and choose to execute, which I then again had murder a servant with a fork. And still Carrus is the villain here, because he happily killed anyone touched by that demon. That is very strange.

How exactly can people resemble a greater daemon?

Great unclean ones are huge, bloated, rotting and generaly utterly disgusting.
Bloodthirsters are huge, red, hyper-violent, and a perfect fit for the word 'daemon'
The keepers of Secrets are huge, multi-limbed and often with messed up looking heads (you know what I mean, all points and noseless)
And Lords of change have bird faces.

This is a signature. It contains words of an important or meaningful nature.

Question, I've been following the critiques rather than the story (sorry, I couldn't get into it). There was a mention about Blanks disrupting daemons/pskyers... Don't normal people dislike being near blanks for the same reason, just not to the same degree.

Forgive but could I get a quick rundown of the blank's presence against the greater daemon's fight?
