You can only be Irish if you actually are Irish. Invading a country, supressing the local language and culture while enforcing your own hardly makes you one of the natives does it? Scots Irish are actually Scots, their heritage and customs come from Scotland. They were planted in Ireland to secure the English defeat of the Irish. Many of them were considered troublesome in their native Scotland so shipping them to Ireland was considered a twofer.

I do believe that you are talking about Ireland... Both Greenland and Ireland were barren rocks when the Viking explorers discovered them, and later built colonies/countries on them.

I stopped giving a crap about elderly sports players chasing rings and cups after the 2012 Football Season. Seeing Phil Dawson go to the 49ers because he was most likely going to retire after this season just gives him the best chance at achieving the reward(s) you know he deserves. Alfredsson gave blood, sweat, and tears to Ottawa, let him have a chance at the cup before he retires.

ah, yes. I'm using the American English definition (lord we're so open minded!) as opposed to the global racial classification definition.

I'm usually better about globalizing the language of my post, but the slang seeps in from time to time.
