No tracking, that was like an extra $40 or something - just wait it out, worst case I'll just send you the cash to find a replacement locally, or ship you one from ebay from here and let them worry about tracking

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please note that Januine is required for an urgent medical procedure the afternoon of Monday 17th August, and will be needed until Wednesday 19th August for same. There will also be a brief moment on Thursday 20th August where he will need to go to the post office.

As per the standard guidelines, this will need to be fully paid by the company, and will not count toward sick or holiday leave.

Sincerely,

Such a cool model.

Really looking forward to seeing what you do with him.

Depending on how the date falls, I might be able to sneak an excursion for the mob to Nottingham and get some photos of them on the lash in Bugman's somewhere suitably epic for the British group before they fly back.
Depends on whether I'm due for a game that week.

Consider it a postcard of their 'ooliganism.

I will take a pic of mine near a local landmark (Oxford - probably the dreaming spires from South Park). Might be entertaining to have pics of individual orks around the world. bit like the travelling gnome.

I'd like to join in.

You can either have a RT era metal ork
Spoiler:
or a Gorkamorka Games Day 1998 limited edition Nob
Spoiler:
.

Let me know which you'd prefer, and I'll arrange to paint him and get him to the UK 'distribution hub' (possibly ALSO with an Oxford backgroup shot, if you're lucky).

I've never been a huge fan of rt era stuff, but I'm not picky in the slightest mate - i accept any and all donations gratefully!

Keen, the Nob it is. I just wasn't sure if your balance of Boys to Nobs was getting awry. What an odd sentence.

I... actually don't know. Help?

I think I can donate another Ork Boy if that's okay?

WinRAR, thanks mate. Over the original box we are now +2 Nobs, +2 Ork Meks and +1 boy - Once it is all done, I will probably continue to add to it anyway.

Matthew wrote:I think I can donate another Ork Boy if that's okay?

Nah mate, it's cool. As it is, no two models will have the same painter, and I think that is probably the best way to get this done for now. Thanks for the offer though! Feel free to pain him up as part of the Swedish contingent that lives at your house!

The last nob arrived safely, kb, and I snagged some small boxes from work that should protect the somewhat bulkier koptas while in transit. Still no exact estimate for when I'll get the NA lads in the mail, but anyone donating from their own stash can still get a head start!

Cheers KB.

Just took a couple of quick (not great) ipad pics there.

Meet Marlok Brandork.....

A freebooter of no fixed abode, he travels in search of the next big race or the next bigger ruckus. He is equally content in either.

An antisocial, rather grumpy Ork, Marlok likes to consider himself a bit of a loner, joining bigger bands of Orks only for personal gain and perhaps a little excitement.

Throughout his travels he'll offer very little in the way of conversation or even acknowledgement let alone friendship.

However, despite his insistence on solitude, since he left home years ago, he has never ever managed to shake off loyal little Strabla the Gretchin.

Much to his annoyance.

Well, it seems some of the fastest painters are also some of the most impressive (as a fellow Alan - the proper spelling, mind you - I doff my hat to you). Could it be that painting faster means painting more means getting better? Seems logical enough...

So, if you want to paint better, join Waaagh Dakka! Free trial Orks to North Americans (found more in my model stash), as long as you're not opposed to shipping your practice pieces back to me for eventual inclusion in kb_lock's glorious, actually physical (as opposed to a conceptually awesome, but merely digital - check the Dakka articles) DakkaDakka-sourced Waaagh!

@kb_lock: P.S. - You wanted a mob. You offered the idea, ponied up the money, and spent your time organizing. One way or another, you're getting an army. Not a huge one, mind you, but more than a meager squad of Boys and a Nob to lead them. I can pretty much guarantee that I'll be slow (apologies to any NA painters chomping at the bit!) at shipping, let alone painting, but I'll reaffirm for the twentieth time my commitment to this project. Let's get some fresh blood and extra goodwill in here and make this a project/thread worth remembering!

P.P.S. - Any increase in return shipping due to increased volume/weight is on me. If a few more join, I'm happy. If an unexpectedly high number want in, it's first come, first served until I'm no longer comfortable pitching in. I can ship in two waves, domestically, if need be, but I'm only sending one box back to you. Sorry for trying to escalate, if your display shelf space is limited!

Get a load of this guy being awesome.

Thanks oadie, that's a very generous offer on top of your already very generous offer to help. We'll negotiate the extra shipping costs but, spoiler, you're not paying for it.

Honestly, the amount of genuinely excellent people I've encountered on this single thread has been astounding, you should all give yourselves a high five irl

Kb, can we get a topic post update and a big visible this page post for people with the very basics.
I'm getting some pretty confused PMs with either people sending me their addresses or asking for mine when they haven't been sent an Ork yet.

Just a step by step would be ace, fella, because I don't have the orks here with me until tomorrow, to check who's already got one allocated.

I'm fog headed as feth and this isn't supposed to read grumpy, but I've just had four PMs today about this and I'm not sure which of them are donors or what.

Update from the OP;

Euros: If you are on the list, and have sent me your address, you will have a model coming to you in the next few weeks. Models are in the UK right now, and will probably be shipped out next week. If you are not on the list, and want to donate a model, please PM Buttery Commissar for their address to send your completed model. If you want to donate models but not paint, PM me.

Ameribros: If you are on the list, and have sent me your address, you will have a model coming to you in the next few weeks also. Models are actually in oadie's hot little hands, and will be shipped out soon(tm). If you are not on the list, and want to paint a model, please PM oadie as they have their own stash of models they are donating. If you want to donate your own painted model, please PM oadie for their address.

Australiasians: Whatever yo, there are only four of us anyway. PM me for all your orky questions.

Spoiler:

That's look brilliant mate, I was going to airbrush the skin rather than the metal - did you do it that way because of coverage or simply because you think the skin will suit brush highlights more?

I don't airbrush. Paintbrush only. That's just the base coat for the skin. it's had a green/brown wash and a green/dark brown/black wash now so he's much ....nuttier!!. The metals will have much more done to thm. That's just the basework

Excuuuuuuuse me, kb. I may have long, slender, ladylike fingers (if you can look past the copious scar tissue and mangled nails) and baby-like soft skin (barring the fingertips, which are generally shredded and abrasive, if not currently softened/slicked by fresh blood flow, but I do have broad, manly (but still supple) palms - seriously, it's nigh impossible to find gloves that fit a hand with man-palms and lady-fingers. Winters are rough, as I'm either numb or clumsy, thanks to the limited options available to me). I HIGHLY doubt that the majority of Dakkanauts would find my hands 'hot' (in the "attractive" sense) or 'little.' Also, I was just near an air conditioning vent, so my hands are superficially cool - on average, tepid - if you were implying temperature. Choose your words more carefully, next time!

Translation: I decided to check in on the thread, after a 'drink or two,' and insisted on posting a non-bump bump. Uhh... I mean, I'm quite invested, and wanted to maintain lively discussion. Yeah...

Sympathies, Oadie. It is very hard to find sinister leather gloves when you have long fingers and man sized hands...
