@galorn, thanks, first time I've seen sick used in a positive manner not being tied to nurgle (which my autocorrect tried to change to nurse )
@dave, thanks, your tutorial is helping immensely, and I wouldn't have even tried without you reminding me.

Decided to move the set up to the kitchen instead of the basement, I'll have to clean up before the wife gets home, but I'm able to get their things done while the molds cure. Also. Don't have a water tap in the basement so I have to fill an empty 3liter bottle(future airship) full of water and mix from that. I also don't have a drain downstairs that I'd like to use, so this is better all around. Of course the wife won't agree.

Here's the current set up. Space for 4walls on the one panel, 5 short walls(2 of which I have set up for corners) will try to expand his more later.

Did one pour this morning, but didn't mix up enough compound, so only got three walls, one short wall and one corner short wall.

Off now to do some errands, probably take a few hours, but then these will be set and hopefully I'll have time for another pour before the family is home. One errand is to swing by another hobby lobby to check for more clearance plastics, also will hit a different big lots than usual and maybe some dollar stores.

Edit: errands took a extra couple ours and still didn't get to the dollar stores, what's worse was an IRS letter in the mailbox when I got home spent 30 minutes on hold with them before getting a helpful lady on he phone who complained about how short staffed they were. Once I started getting my point across to her she lightened up and was almost helpful....then"let me put you on hold to grab xxxxxxx info...." Didn't give me a chance to say anything before putting me on hold (which she accidentally messed up and hung up on me). I tried calling back, but all the options led to a recording saying that call volumes were so high and I couldn't even be put into a que. call back tomorrow.

Hopefully that counts as all three bad things for the day.

Meanwhile I was able to unmolded the stuff I poured before I left, cleaned the negatives, mix and pour another set. So something productive was had during that .

While I was out I did hit he other hobby lobby close to us. They had a ton of he clearance jtt plastics that I'm using for the necromunda build. I really am trying not to spend more than $20.00 a week and have been pretty good about it. I put back half of what was there, but got more o he brickwork, diamond plate and two packs of a corrugated steel look (4 pieces). Also got a 1 1/2 pound on trainer of art sand to use for basing and to fill the sandbox I had built with the body dump. Just over my $20.00 limit, but I couldn't let all that plastic sit. Thy had tons of military model kits at 40% off so you may wan to swing out and get some.

Return to an older project when you get tired of the sewer smell.

New version of the conveyor belt using Dave's beautiful hard drive rails.

Angled feet to go up to a higher level

Belt itself

Rivets for the legs will come in the a.m.

Night all.

Great stuff here! I completely missed this entire thread in my 6 month absence...great to see more crazed underhive contractors down here cranking out inspired creations. My P&M blog never got past 5 pages before I completely lost all my free time due to kid number three arriving at the end of March. I plan to slowly start ramping it back up though...time permitting.

I will be following your work going forward for sure, keep it up!

the new conveyor belt looks very good... I see a longer structure in the future too... would make literally a great obstacle^^

and it is a constant struggle not to buy oneself silly at times... I often succeed at this when in a shop... but quite often buys at ebay or recently even a bitz seller have lessened my guard...
and that sewer idea is something I hope you wont let loose !!!

@galorn, thanks
@fango, welcome, I know exactly what having three little ones does to your free time, although with the twins I had less overall time of diaper changing, there was just more diapers in a shorter time period.
@ldd, yep, more details to be added, just wanted to make the modular bit first. The conveyor sections could all be the same, different legs to get different heights, then other add ons like control panel, diverter, and motor.
@dave, just one section so far, was planning on making more today, but wife forgot her phone at home, and then is having car problems, so took her phone to school picked up her car and taking it to a friend to see what's wrong with it.
@vik, yep, just on right now with alternate legs. I must always do my prototype first then revise as time allows. Bit sellers are h bane of my bank account. It's one reason why I am trying to use the parts no one else wants , cause the bit sellers try to dump those cheap.

Along time ago I read where the iron in people's blood can affect their mental states. The moon can affect people with more iron in their blood stream because it pulls on it easier like a magnet. The iron slows its travels in the brain because it is closer to the moon an reduces the oxygen to the brain slightly. Just enough to reduce mental capacity a minor amount, nothing awfully noticeable. It made a little bit of sense to me as I know people who take iron supplements and they get real stupid around the full moon. Also I lived in an area (moved from there last years) that used to be a lead mining community. High lead contents in the ground soil. There you really could tell when the moon was full because it got so bad I actually requested days off around the moon cycle to avoid some people. Scientists my know a lot and say they have debunked this myth, but there's way too much evidence for me to believe otherwise.

More build later time permitting.

@fango, those are both great, I finally went with "the grub hub", the grub dog I made that looks like minion Dave is what brought it about.

I will keep those ideas for the burger wars competitors that I was looking for a while back.

Back from the car repair place, they diagnosed it, but will fix it tomorrow. Only $3-350.00 this is why I can't have nice things.

Did some quick digging for nerdfest but couldn't find the right Lego for a picture. But pulled other pieces I WAS looking for for a different mold. We'll see if it comes out okay as I already poured the mix.

Time for some grub, then maybe some building before the family gets home. Going to do some work at church tonight, so we will see if anymore conveyor sections get done.

Edit: here's the big mold and its brother that is needed with it.

Can you tell what the new one is yet? If you can your amazing.

Here it is being unmolded

The curved Lego plus pliable plastic card leads to this.

And doing a double mold makes this possible. Now it looks more like a pipe leading into the main sewer. There's still space at the edge of h pipes for backwash where things might get stuck. Thinking of a little sign in the muck pointing down the pipe for where he scaavie gang takes up residence.

I still need a concept for how he sewer workers are supposed to cross the pipe. And I'm going to do the pipe differently in the future. Right now I'm thinking a small ladder on each side of the pipe leading to a small platform over the top.

Well, you know it had to happen....I came up with another idea while on this project...but they go hand in hand so breath.

Lets join my favorite things and bring back an old idea. What old idea???

SUMPBALL!!!!!
Yes, bloodbowl meets necromunda in the sump pit. But now we have sump pit walls (sewer walls)
Here's the start of an endzone.

And if you can decipher the squiggles.....my cunning plan

The pit will be 2'x 4' and will sit next to my necromunda table to make it 4'x 6'total. The pipes and vents will still interact with the board, this is just adding to the fun.

The teams will be regular gangers, jives, heavies, and leader and will be based off the bloodbowl human team. Other gangs will be fit in afterwards.

The idea is basically this.....the sump pits are routinely emptied and scrubbed clean (the league of extraordinary janitors/servo skulls), and basic maintenance is done on the pits to ensure the algae that is grow there is safe for con'sump'tion. (Glad your not a hiver yet?) local gangs who aren't bitter rivals challenge each other to matches for control of the algae farm. Competing gives them revenue as the locals come to watch and buy food, drugs, prostitutes whatever.

The game will run like bloodbowl using human stats, leader-thrower, heavies-blitzers, gangers-linemen, juvies-catchers.

I will work on the charts and mundify them accordingly. The weather chart will have 'rain' in the form of a burst overhead pipe. 'Sweltering heat' will be noxious fumes and such.

The field 'pitch' will be slightly lower than the surrounding area 'flat' where bystanders/fans are standing. Just like bloodbowl if your knocked off the pitch the fans get to rough you up too. There will be ladders to go up to the catwalks above (grandstands) which will help this function in the necromunda games by being multilevel.

I'd like o make the entire wall area out of plaster/joint compound, and use plastic card and bits to accent it.

There's the plan, what's the thoughts? I already know I'm crazy, but feel free to say I again for the newcomers.

@chaoticmind, I encourage the shameless stealing of ideas as I have stolen so many as well. I see it as an honor that someone sees something that I have done and it inspires them to adapt it to their work.
@Dr. H, the castings are getting better each try, or at least in my opinion they are. I'm realizing to make the mix wetter, and just let it dry longer. Especially when pouring in the basement because I have the dehumidifier going.

I was hoping the squares for the pitch would line up perfectly with the Lego.....it doesn't. The bulkheads are a perfect match for Lego, so if anyone wishes to duplicate this all you have to do is build a Lego frame that has 9x9 open pips. I've been trying to pour it a full block thick, or three strips thick. I guess I better learn my legoeese to describe it better. Until then have a Lego picture my wife sent me a while ago.

the sump bowl idea is actually a very neat one... but i am still more of a fan about the sewer as a battlefield

and the pipe looks very good.... totally convincing... seems having ones mind in the gutter eventually leads to something like that

as for the means to get from one end to the other over the pipe... well i think a bended ladder...completley over the pipe could look quite convincing? tho... something that prevents the clomber from sliding would be the best solution... maybe a bridge? with railings? and don“t stress me with "there are no railing in the grim dark sweres of the 40th millenia..."

also... the moon sillyness explanation sounds very spooky....one can only hope it is not true... but i do have to say... i see such evidence here too.... i see it in the smallest in my kids.... their sleeping habbits are way more freakish than on other nights...

Up a 1:30 am, going to scratch out some ideas an then crawl back into bed. Right now I'm thinking of changing the stadium around a bit. If I make the scoreboard side the long side then I can have a lower wall on the other long side which could make for playing the game easier. You won't be reaching down into the game field as much. This would also allow the field to connect to the Munda board easier. Also if the end zones are detachable hen the pit could just become the long sewer I had originally planned. I'll scribble some stuff out then look a it again in the real morning to see what I think. I'm trapped a home today without a car, so besides yard work I should get some stuff accomplished.

Second one is poured, just waiting to be unmolded. My other concept was to have the pipe up high as it would pour down onto the pitch if the event "riot" occurred. Also honking of making a couple larger pours of wall sections. Still kicking around concepts.

I should be able to get the weather table and possibly kick off event table sorted this morning after the kids get up and off to school.

Vik at each kick off (so at least twice a game), you roll on the kick off event table, and you roll on the weather table before the game starts. Each table is a 2d6 roll so you have eleven options.on the weather table there are five options.

Weather table results are 2,3,4-10,11,12 I don't know them off the top of my head, but 4-10 is nice weather no effect on the game, but some others are rain, blizzard, heat wave, an I think the last is very sunny. Each has a negative effect on play or the players.

The kick off table is where the fun happens. 2d6 each value has something special including one that's a changing weather condition roll on the weather chart. Some of the other results are get the ref. where its a roll against your teams fan factor to see who's fans rough him up more, the winner gets to do fouls without worrying about the ref sending them off the pitch. There's also rioting fans that invade the field and beat up players, and thrown rock where a fan chucks a rock hard enough to knock down/ injure a player.

It really is a great game. Fun to learn and play as long as everyone treats I as a beer an pretzels game you'll never tire of it. As Ono as someone goes in to "win" then it stops being fun pretty quick.

You can still get he box set from GW, I think, but you can own load most recent rules for free, use old minis from other systems till you get your feet wet, and order the field and other accessories from online sellers like http://www.comixininos.com/

Gotta get the kiddos up and moving.

Edit: finished the charts, nothing major just a few renames.

Unmolded another big pipe end unit. Made a new mold. Also duplicated the conveyor section. I'll need some odd and end bits for it, but here's a layout.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Tried a new mold, went for broke and glued my old templates in place. Didn't work , but I should be able to make new molds still, and the problem I found is fixable and should help with the next generation. The rounded mold actually did work out.

Instead of pouring the mould with the pipe bit notched out, I've decided to do further work with a solid slab that I can drill out the hole.

Might use he rounded edge mold in a second way as well.

But will decide later as I'm not as keen on it vertically.

Since. Had picked up the jar of art sand I figured I should go about using it.

So the body dump is closer to being done.

Also the modular wall section above. New roll up door with plastic card corrugated door built. A little tweaking to the overhang to make it sturdier.

Light kit can go above door out wards, flip it over and use it as a Sign for the business, or put it under the walkway lighting below.

Hatch is still separate from the frame, so you can have it open, just drill out the wall section or paint it black.
