man, have you been busy!
yesterday I needed an early night... and look what you´ve all done!

I am not too sure about the big wall... tho the bricked buttresses look rather good... from the pics tho I can´t tell the direction of the bricks... that might need fixing for the vertical curved parts... probably a new mould needed?

the conveyor belt setup looks very good... one thing tho... if we imagine parts, parcels or what not going over these I think you need some kind of connection "pillar" in-between" two belts sections... usually just slippery metal plated something where the goods just slip over to the next belt...but you only need to make these once you plan on fixing that setup to a spot on your board...

@galorn, thanks, I'm hoping t work on mor conveyor parts today, but we'll see which way I'm lead by the craft spirits.
@Vik, The buttresses I'm not too keen on. Especially since my Sumpball field won't allow for enough of an edging around it to make these possible with a walkway. They will stay curved for where the sewer drain pipes come in though.

My wife's van needed more work than what was estimated, luckily it's a friend doing it so nt shafted on labor, still $500 is more Han what we were wanting to spend, and they said their might b other problems but o drive it o the week and then we'll see if the fix worked. Otherwise a new engine is in order . That'll kill any hobby fun for a long time.

Gotta get grass one before I gets hot today.everyones been complaining about he heat this year, but here it hasn't broken 100 degrees Fahrenheit yet his year according to the weatherman. Also kids have doctor appointments, so might not have lots of time today to build stuff, bu should b able to get a pour or two done.

ouch.... it pours again... a possible new engine... that is quite a downer... I hope it wont have to come to this...!

well... I think here the summer is over... we do get some warmer days... sunny and all but the big heat times is hopefully over... I am not a big fan of heat...so all the better...

the big buttresses could also be usefull for a commentators booth... or to sideline the big screen for the audience to have a close look to the gamescenes...

Sorry about the van...my amateur plumbing skills have been exhausted, now I am forced to call a plumber, can't wait to find out what that bill will cost!

There's a blockage past the P-trap. I've used my snake, but couldn't clear it, although the water did eventually go down overnight, so there must be at least an opening somewhere.

Have you ever forgotten to floss your teeth for a day or two? When you do get a little piece of food out it stinks? Well, that's exactly th same smell from the pipes..nasty

Dave, have you tried from a clean out in the basement? Or is the trap on the lowest level? Probably like me it's tree roots blocking the line, or is it just one sink?

Well maybe with the smell you can tell me if this test scheme helps set the mood.

I don't think black will be part of the mix. Might toss in white on a couple instead.

Nice brickwork. Maybe a light dry-brush of white over everything to bring out the texture a little.

plumbers are kings... I bet you know that... from what I've heard in the US its even worse if the movies I´ve seen are any trustworthy informations...

and I have to clear our kitchen sink every now and then too... good deal I don´t have any sense of smell... I bet It could kill a man^^... maybe that´s why my wife is never there too when I do that ´orrible work^^

and theo... that wall looks brilliant! have you considered the mortar to be painted extra? I am not even sure it would be needed... maybe a wash is everything that is needed to call it a day!...I am now eager to see that sewer completed... (yeah I know, the more pressure we put to you it won´t happen quicker)

@comradepanda, bloodbowl will get played, but it will be a while before the walls are up.
@vik, the mortar is a little darker, but will probably get a wash once the paint dries.
@Dr.H, should I do the white before or after a wash?
@dave, he'll probably charge you for it anyway, so I wouldn't worry that he will be out any money.

One pour down this morning, another is almost dry. The pitch won't have any outside corners, but I figured I should make some and have the molds anyway.

Need to sketch the drawing of the box this will all go into.

Depends on how you are planning to do the wash.
If you're just going to slap on the wash all over, then maybe a dry-brush before (that'll then be dulled down with the wash), but then another afterwards. It only wants to be a light going over, just to highlight the very tips of the roughness. Maybe only a light grey or brown/sand as opposed to white.

Dave is the resident brick expert though, so I'd bow to his wisdom if he thinks differently.

It depends if you want mortar lines or not.

He came with his big powered snake and cleared it. Less than $100..I was pleasantly surprised!

I'll have to try other pictures, the one I have doesn't show the mortar lines well. They are there, but I don want them to be the focus of the wall. Also some wall will still be dirty as the janitorial crew is still cleaning the empty pit. So some will have green pots, some will have brown spots and some......well they will just be nasty.

I think that if you dry-brush the bricks. That will lighten them a little and the mortar lines will then look darker and more defined by contrast.

haha Vik

Dark mortar lines only seem to work at smaller scales for me. Maybe try some very thin grey paint? If you mix it like a glaze and sop it all over, it'll slightly change the hue of the bricks, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

It's got adeptus battle grey mortar between the bricks right now. The wash should help.

Closer pic.

Hopefully that shows the grout better.

Here's the parts I have ready so far. I think one side will be only one bulkhead high, making it easier to play SUMPBALL, and access the sewer. I'm thinking of doing solid buttresses between all the panels.

the black in the mix looks slightly offending to the eye... I would redo that...
but the rest looks very good...
and the setup is highly promising!...
now you need to get yourself some water effects... or how will you simulate the yucky look of the sewer water?...or you could also have bricks... but all the water has run out....

Oh, the bricks are smoother that I thought. Maybe a dry-brush won't help.
Mortar looks fine though.

Maybe make the black brick a dark-grey brick, darker than your mortar, like a breeze-block colour? Might jump out less than the black.

Yeah the black will not make it into the rest of the mix for painting. No water effects, the sump is drained for repairs, here may be some residual fungus, but its going to be dry.

Yes, just darken the bricks. a bit methinks. Too complementary now, needs to be more of a contrast.

@shaso, thanks

I decided to paint up a second to see if I could duplicate the randomness. I think it turned out decent enough. The grout lines are a bit lighter, but I hadn't primed this one , it may have absorbed some of the paint into it. I'll have o prime the rest. Also will see what a primed one looks like with a wash over it.

Offending black brick is out. Hat should I do with the damaged parts? Corrosive algae? Or just where bullets ricocheted?

Edit: also built a few bases to match the brickwork.

Got some ideas for more, but its bedtime now (well past bedtime, but now I'm sleepy)
