Damn kid's been in bits box again:

It's like a Dalek and old falcon grav tank made sweet mechanical love.

And some wip progress, hopefully starting to become a bit more apparent where I'm aiming with this. Much more shading and highlighting than usual, but the basic scheme is my usual.

The Culexus looks really cool! Great job.

That crazy tank thing made me chuckle, I love the idea of a giant flail on a grav tank, must be a swine to steer in a straight line.

Yeah, the more I look the more l like the sheer daftness of it, seems very setting appropriate. I might switch the sword hand for another though, just for a bit more wow.

The only thing that bothers me about the model is not the pose or anything but the size of the cannon. Psilencers are cool and all but for some reason it does not sit all that well with me.

Nice! The 'im a special sword, honest' sword definitely is better, much as i thought the original was good...

Mmmm CAKE! (your doing it again graven, you know this doesnt end well...

) LEDs? impressed! The best my mum did (as another cake maker) was to make a cake with a giant zit on it (for a Dermatologist no less) then, when you pinched the zit, it was filled with custard!!

Definitely a Nurgle cake!

Hmm, im not convinced, by the pose he is shooting it out with one enemy, while going to decapitate another, so he wouldnt be holding the head....yet

I would almost have said, reverse the sword hand, and have the head piercing the head on the floor, as if he is shooting in one direction, while finishing off a floored enemy in the other....but the base isnt big enough...

I do, however, see exactly where you are going with it...

If you are looking for something else to help balance the left side of the model, maybe get some purity seals going on the sword? Could have them all going in the same direction so that it gives the illusion of movement (obviously) as if he is gonig for the sweep...i dont know how to incorporate the head into that though....sorry.

I dunno, I can imagine a fearsome battle cry of "Who's next then?"! It's okay, I'm not sold on the head either yet. The floor is a big drippy khorne icon (icing?) rather than a corpse. Played with adding some purity seals of various lengths, just ended up looking like streamers

I have added one drained across the back of the psilencer itself though. I think he's probably busy enough, and I need to know when to stop!

Good point, i can see that too! Im just trying to imagine his movements and how the sword would end up on that side of his body without his hand being upside down....Ahh, i wondered what it was (i can tell its going to look good, but not exactly what it is...).

well that is kind of what i was thinking....near the hilt only of course, but to give the left side of the model some bulk that doesnt detract from the excellent blade or the rest of the model...he is a bit busy though, you may well be right...

EDIT: Just to clarify, im not against the daemon head in the hand, just worried it puts quite a lot of the model all on one side....and i cant help but think about the various poses and how the model would have gotten there...

Wife is indeed very talented. She's the one who actually did art at school (her, the microbiologist).

I think the head is just a wee bit much - not fussed about over kill but I just don't think it needs it. I am thinking seriously about the streamers though, and how best to approach them, possibly in the style of the gk halberd that has hundreds of the bloody things. Coiling round his hand could be cool too though. Or. Possibly. Chain?

The light is impressive (dont forget to take the wires and things out before you cut into the cake..been there, done that, didnt go well...

)

Theres some art (somewhere) of a sword/halberd/some weapon covered in sweeping purity seals, that looks amazing (which is what i was thinking of when i saw him 'going for the swing' as it were), been trying to find it and...well, cant...
