In the pic that says group shot the guys look like they have no backpacks and bolters they acherly do there just not in the pic!(apert from the painted guy).

Hey Hazzer, if you have problems taking photos it is a good idea to place the camera on a flat surface and set a timer to take the photo a few seconds after you press the button. Your photos are coming out so blurry that it's close to impossible to see anything.

If the problem is focus then you need to get an auto focussing camera.

@ ployd8 It wasent ment to be a servitor but that helps alot for me to find a head for that sepicific character.And what to do for the paint job!

I think I'll throw my hat into the ring on this one because this seems really awesome. I mostly paint Ultramarines and Blood Angels. The Blood Angels were for a friend of mine so no pics of them, sorry. I'm, obviously, willing to paint Ultras but I've been really wanting to try out an Imperial Fist or a White Consul (I'll try my hand at anything though). If anyone is interested in swapping go ahead and let me know.

A note on the photos:
This is my first try at taking photos and posting them here on Dakka so I'm hoping they came out decently. The lighting in the tactical marine photo seems a bit screwy but maybe it's just me. Also a big thumbs up to Scarab for his tutorial on photographing models, it was hugely useful.

Hey andain841, bearing in mind that your a newbie (like me I only joined a few months ago) good pics how I take tham with 2-3 bits of A4 paper.Put the guy that your going to photograph in the middle zoom in take a pic upload it on to your computer edit then upload on to dakka.Also wanta swap (I collect ultramarines too) So swap a ultramarine for a ultramarine so we can see each others different styels of painting.(pics of my guys ae just above your post!). Also what company is that?Because cold goes really well with bule so I decided to paint my guys as the 2nd company.

Winging his way to Battle Brother Lucifer: Techmarine Perrault

Perrault has always been smarter than most of his battle brothers, but was quiet and introspective in his intelligence. Happier with technology than his peers, he was sent to Mars shortly after being granted the Black Carapace to learn the arts of the technological ways. Upon returning to the chapter the Masters of the Forge gathered and spoke long with him, gaging whether he would be best suited to leading his peers, focussing on artillery or dealing with the great tanks of the order. Very quickly he was placed in command of the servitors manning the support arsenal of the chapter, where he has faithfully served, taking to battle only alongside the great predators and whirlwinds of the chapter, to buoy up the flagging spirits of the machines and keep them working long after other techmarines would have given up.

Himly earned his stripes on a desert world on the fringes of Obscurus in battle with a splinter fleet of Tyranids, dubbed 'Bastille' by the Chapter. Already a sergeant of an assault marine squad, he was able to stem the tide of monstrous creatures while a community of tech priests gathered very important machinary before leaving the world to die. The only Space Marine survivor of the venture, before the battle barges and strike cruisers arrived to destroy the space borne menace, Himly was inducted into the veterans at the behest of the senior Tech priest, who saw in Himly a devotee of the Omnissiah and a potent close combat warrior. Since then he has spent a great deal of time in remote corners, often travelling alone and aiding other chapters in the fight against xenos and heresy, as every Space Marine could wish.

Polyd8: The conversion beamer looks pretty cool I think. Pictures at some point soon.

BG that is amazing. Currently Im too tired to use better words or go into greater detail about how amazing.

So, some of you might be wondering how I got so many GMS marines (think I'm up to 12 or 13 now). Well two things... first, get behind on your trades (I don't recommend that). Second though is I trade all kinds of things for GMS marines. Old figures, bits, you name it. Which brings me to my current picture. DarthLakey is in need of some Mantis Warrior pads for a squad he's making, so I'm trading him for a Inquisitional marine for my army. Built this guy out of so many bits just like usual. Did some fooling around with a heat gun on the arms to get the pose I wanted & dressed him up with grenades and a purity seal, not to mention the fancy bolter. He's also got a banded tech shoulder pad from Chapterhouse. I've had several of these for a while now and have just been dying to try them out on something. This seemed like the perfect figure for the job. So, I'll be passing this on the Darth to paint in whatever colors he'd like. Hope he enjoys the painting as much as I'll enjoy adding it to my second inquisitional squad!

I would prime, but as I mentioned I'm about 4 trades behind. Let me get caught up and I'll be back in the market. Only reason I'm swapping with Darth is that he's accepting bits in liu of a painted model (which would just put me farther behind).

@Gitsplitta - thanks very much, glad you like. I really go all out on these swapped marines, going to have to go back over my own marines with some of the things I've learned.

@prime - cheers, I love his dynamic pose. Only annoyance was the shoulder pad on the fist has thrown off the line of the backpack, it is skewed slightly away from straight up.

@1-i - especially glad you like, since you have to look at him! I'm shipping on Saturday morning (only time I can get to the post office).

@Hazzer - yes, both marines have homes, one for Battle Brother Lucifer, the other for 1-i.

Will be taking a break after those 2, need to focus on making a few Deathwatch marines for myself.

I was wandering where you had been beacuse of not having that much activty on this thred for a while.Your new profile pic i pretty cool is it someone from a greachen army?Also do you have the completed bolter marine from ages ago?I would love to se the completed marine on here then sent to me so I can upload it too!

@Hazzer, probably some time today or tomorrow! The girlfriend is coming down today and I have tons of revision for university, so I'll be working on it during my free breaks.

A "box swanded bolter"? Not sure what that is...
