@graven, thanks
@nafarious, I haven't looked at theirs in a while, just make sure yo use the 40% off coupon if ou buy on there.

Back from the grandparents. Stopped by big lots (nothing) and a thrift shop (nothing) and harbor freight. Picked up a moisture trap and parts o connect I and he pressure regulator.

Also stopped and got Chinese food on the way home. Funniest hing ever happened hil I was sitting and waiting or my To go order. An older man 50ish came in and went to the counter. The young Asian lady came up thinking he wanted to place an order. Instead the man told her he was looking for someone. She asked if it was a man or woman, and he said female. She asked for the girls name nd he admitted he only knew her last name. When he said the last name she didn't recognize the last name, wondered if they were new to the area. He said "oh No, she's in china." The lady at the counter was visibly shaken, but continued to ask how he knows her. He admitted that he saw her online at a dating site, but didn't want to pay them for her contact information. He said he could find her without shelling out the cash. She tried to explain how there's so many people in china with the last name. I audibly snickered, which drew her gaze, he didn't turn around. He started insisting that she must have a way to contact this woman, that he only has a last name to, he showed her a picture on his phone. I'm guessing the site was not PG rated as she blushed and turned away. She said something in Chinese and one of the cooks came out to ask him to leave. He was stunned that they were being so rude to him, he just wanted to take care of he girl. On my way home I was passing another Chinese restaurant here the guy was coming out of that one too .

God humors me every day. Almost makes up for the airbrushing fun.

Yea I will for sure use that 40% off coupon

Jeez who thinks that every Chinese person knows every other Chinese person. That is pretty odd. Sounds like an eventful day.

Eventful yes. I loaded my SUV with so many magazines from th grandparents basement that the rear wheels were almost touching the frame. Still only about 30% of the magazines are gone.

Now my belly is full of Chinese food and I don't feel like going downstairs to mess with the airbrush.

Edit: got off my lazy butt and messed with the airbrush again. Attached the pressure valve and moisture trap to the compressor line, felt lucky so added paint and......

About ten minutes later. Started on the second tray and got about halfway when it clogged again. I think it's because I'm using GW foundation paint which is just thick. Even heavily thinned it thickens back up. I might be wrong. I set pressure to 25 psi, would you go lower or higher guys?

Oh and.....

the first AB accident of yours reminds me when our mixer "exploded" in our kitchen ...milky splatter-rama...

but all the hurt and pain you are feeling now also have a bright side to it... you have a rather quick learning curve... your still not there yet... but you are getting closer to the perfekt job...!

and i better not coment on the chineese thing... that really makes my hothead get all angry and red...some people...

Wow, that restaurant story some people are just oblivious. I'm glad I just ate dinner, other wise is be craving Chinese too. Looks like you're getting there with the airbrush. Not totally the, but solving the problems anyways. I've read A LOT of article on them because some day I'll own one and want to be prepared when I do, so I know they can be real finiky until you get them dialed in.

Well I changed the nozzle from the .2mm up to the .5mm to try that out. It worked for a few minutes the. I was cursing and trying knobs again. I figure I better open the paint lid to see if any chunks were in the tank I ran out of paint, no wonder it wouldn't spray sometimes the most obvious answers are overlooked. Filled it with winded and cleaned it out.

Will work on it in the morning, my littlest daughter went to the baseball game tonight with a neighbor family. They are a young couple 20s, their niece lives with them now because the father just died of a heart attack, and moms not doing good. The girl moved in with them and then she's had heart surgery for congenital problem. She's only 6, stuff like this breaks my heart (no pun there).

Glad to see the AB has gotten some Kinks out. GW foundation paint will clog it is not intended to be thinned... If you do you should thin it with AB medium.

That said I should be able to get those base blanks out to you some time next week. (I can now bend but not really lift anything yet... hopefully I will be back up and running so to speak by tomorrow.)

@galorn, my backs not that bad, but sore right now. I filled my SUV with magazines today then took them to recycle. Had to be between 1200-1800 magazines. Paper is not light. I'll see about getting new paint or airbrush medium tomorrow, thanks for the info.
@comradepanda, at this rate I might get my entry done....a month or two late.

Sitting watching the empty bird feeder, and all the upset visitors. Is it wrong to think about trimming the branch the squirrel uses to jump o the roof. I'd do it gradually, like an inch a day, it would be to help improve his leg strength. Honestly. I wouldn't get any joy watching him miss the jump and fall while trying to flap his arms, that wouldn't be nice.

I think the airbrushes would also make my hanbds aches as the larger heavy objects would strain my arthritis, so I will stick to hand painting my stuff.

Well as I don't have arthritis I can't say. But I did get so much more done in the same amount of time. The brush is really lightweight, so only like holding a pot or two of paints in your hand. It's also more robust so if you have problems with holding small brushes this could be easier.

If you try it be prepared to be frustrated....often, but once you get the bug it gets you good , now if only my kids would get up for school I could start the compressor so I can get on with my stuff

Theo..25 psi may be too much. Remember, what you set the regulator dial to, is different than what the pressure drops to when spraying. So if you set it to 25 PSI on the dial, check it while just spraying air. Also, water doesn't thin paint well for airbrushing. Try Testors universal acrylic thinner. Also make sure you can spray water or wash through the nozzle before loading up with paint. Don't use the color cup cap unless your hand is turning the airbrush to such an angle that it spills out. You DON'T want an airtight vacuum in the color cup. Nothing sucks worse than filling the color cup with paint, only to find it doesn't spray. The smaller the needle, the more tendency for tip dry (the crusting of paint on the tip and needle). I keep an old brush handy to wet and clean the needle every so often while spraying. Acrylics dry with air, and the tool intentionally atomiizes the paint so it dries immediately after spraying, so you're really working against yourself. Paint manipulation and playing with pressure is super important with acrylics.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, use the feature that lets you pull the needle back on a spring for cleaning the nozzle with the brush. That way you don't have to strip it down as much.

Thanks dave I'll keep that in mind as I continue. I've been thinning the paint with the testors thinner. I remember you suggesting that a while back, and have used it to reconstitute some old paints. I've dialed back the pressure as I started to use windex as I ran out of the testors. I seem to be having better luck with the windex, and the smell is pleasant too.

In the mean time one of my taller pics got "moded", it was one of the wall sections with "thank you dave" sprayed onto it. It was covered over with my grey primer coat before I saw they killed it.

Also I put a few other colors throughout the airbrush this morning. Half hour time an the walls got an orange layer and their red color. I'll have to redo the orange as it got covered, but here's the results.

And comparison to the hand painted. They will get another light orange and some individual bricks picked out by hand.

Time to amend the profile page again.

Thanks vik, I like the color of the sewer walls too. They don't look quite so orange in real life. But now that they are more dry I thought I might try a layout color the sump pit.

Using the bulkheads will also give me a few anchor points for the above catwalk. This layout has both sides up two levels. I think the final layout will have just the one level to it on one side and two on the other.

Though I have the pipe entrances on the ends I think they will disappear as this is supposed to be a closed pit. Once the one side is lowered ill have enough big pieces for the endzones.

@kc, if you said that two days ago this one would be on its way to you.
@dr.h, tamed....no I think it is just playing possum with me.
@vik, sprue for the spruemeister, plastic for his plastic throne!!!

So instead of having a ledge all the way around the pit so players can be knocked off the field, I've decided to just go for some colorful story. If a player is run into the wall(off the pitch), then the semi sentient fungus that's crawling the walls attacks the player(fan assault). Between touchdowns the player is rescued, as long as his injury wasn't too bad (dead). Can lead to interesting story if its a miss the next game result as the player is dragged to the fungus' den, and only just manages to escape.

The other option is the player is pulled up to the catwalk by fans and beaten silly. I think the first is more fun story wise.

Quick vents. Simple hose washers with the granny grating inside. Easy to place anywhere on the table.

Your production rate is astounding! Makes me see what all I could get done if I didn't re-roll on Fallout :New Vegas..again

But I get inspirational idea screenshots, so it's not all wasted in the wasteland
It taught me that I need to grey basecoat, then color, then chipping with the base color too
