Are you using a similar technique to do the other colors as you are the jade?

Nope. Jade was a glaze over the base. Turq isn't that shiny, it was just still wet!

Thats almost exactly what i meant (now that i know the Turq isnt that shiny in real life ), nice work graven, looking good!

The armour really reminds me of Malachite rather than Jade now that its lighter, i approve of this

There were some dreads - they were very cool, fantastic looking blade on the CCW. Does that oracle of tzeentch have feth-off big wings coming of his helmet?

Base is simply black with a heavy drybrush of white. The jade is drybrushed highlights, the turq etc are wet blended. Proper pics anon.

@ reiko - calm yourself. Get a towel I like your obsidian pic - the aim would indeed be up to white at the very edges for that chipped look.

I like the Jade marine! looks great a bit shiny too! a jade marble effect would be sweet on the pads or greaves if you were up to it? actually he's one of your models i like the best so far!

Oddly enough, the second pic i posted is actually green marble as opposed to obsidian.....but glad you like it, i think highlighting it up to white in specific areas like that would look amazing!

Sweet! Loving the look you've been giving your parchments, very nice. I concur on the white seals actually, it'll make a nice contrast againt the obsidian I think Nothing wrong with changing things up a bit now and then - they're extra-virgin purity seals

Are you keeping the skulls on the pack and knee obsidian, or going for a pale marble look with them?

Yup, these seals are extra-pure I find myself dithering over the knee and pack skulls. I suppose they will add to the general chaplain-ness if whiter. I'm wondering if he looks too DA just now.
The scrolls are a return to using reaper desert yellow as a base, with an ogrun flesh wash. I might try writing on Roy's final speech from blade runner...

Love the work you do. Since you asked for C&C, the only comment I have for your latest model is that I feel those wings are dying for some color, I can just picture them in a white or make even a boltgun silver color. Something to set them off form the pack they're attached too. Take it or leave it, you do good and creative work.

The giant skull on the back definitely needs to be some other colour (white/bone), otherwise there is very little contrast on the rear of the model (side note: i really like how the wings gleam in the light. I know its not usually something that is seen as a positive in photography, but it really makes it look even more like the precious stone look you are going for....)

Saying that, i would stay away from bright white (except on the purity seals) for such a large area....

And i wouldnt worry too much about being too close to DA, theres not nearly enough robes for that

Cool stuff! The chappy looks great. Way to bring a new idea to the table and run with it!
