On he german site you can even download two codicies. Witchhunters and Demonhunters. They also have the Kroot Mercenary list. It's a much better site than the US GW website.

Hello:

Do you mean this list?:

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/tau/gaming/kroot_armylist/default.htm

We've had it linked off the Tau section for quite a while now. Hope this helps out anyone who's looking for it in English.

I suspect the 2 codices you mentioned are available as downloads because we don't have copies in the online store in German.

That being said, I do have great respect and admiration for my German counterpart(s) and am quite fond of them. They do a great job with their web site in my opinion.

Hello:

The file you are downloading isn't the Citadel Catalogue 2008 that we are selling in the Online Store for $15.00. It is a Collector's, Specialist and Bitz catalog that we are currently PDFing in the US in an effort to get it to you in less than 10MB (our original PDFs were 32 1MB files). Thanks for your patience in the USA. Expect to see it linked in the US Online Store and web site along with the US price list next week.

The Citadel Catalogue 2008 in the Online Store:

http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=306060&orignav=306058&ParentID=259798&GameNav=306057

contains the complete "regular range" (Not Collectors, Bitz Packs, and Specialist listings).

By the way, the complete range of 40K Bitz Packs is now available in the US Online Store. The rest of the Warhammer Bitz Packs will be in there on Monday:

http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=304731&orignav=304717&GameNav=304717

Hope this clarifies things.

Howdy Rich,

Do the current bitz packs represent the entirety of the bits line for 40K? For example it seems as though bits all-together have been pulled from the US online store even though many of these aren't found in the new bitz packs. Is this just a temporary thing due to reorganization or this permanent?

Does anyone think that 5 Terminator Psycannons in a single pack is a good idea?

I guess my biggest problem is that if I want to buy one of something, it seems I'll have to buy 5 of it. It's like the old '12 hot dogs and 8 hot dog buns' problem, except this time the store is only selling the hot dogs, and doesn't let you buy buns at all...

This is assuming, of course, that what's up on the site is just the 'first wave' of bitz packs. If it isn't the 'first wave' and does truly represent Bitz as they are now and into the future, then I must quickly thank God for giving me the foresight to make that huge bitz order at the start of January...

I didn't like it when I heard about it and I still don't like it now. The whole idea of ordering bitz and selling them in "packs" seems so counterintuitive. probably because it is.

As a start, I have to say I like it. Yes, it sucks that I can't buy one psycannon, but stuff like the shoulderpads and stormboyz kits are actually cheaper to order now. Since bitz ordering is a lot of what's always made GW unique, I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that this isn't the end of the line for bitz: if bitz ordering is half as large an income source as I imagine, we'll see more and more stuff brought on line.

I wholeheartedly agree with Ahtman. The words "bitz" and "packs" have nothing to do in the same sentence.

Hello:

As I said, I think there will be more packs in the future. One of the things you'll see about the new line is that blisters which used to have a random assortment of troops or were available as bitz at one point (Space Marine Chaplains for example) are now available as 4 separate blisters:

http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=300869&orignav=300866&GameNav=10

Previously unavailable models like the individual Masters of the Chapter are also there as well. We're a little behind in getting all of those indexed properly though so expect to see them all in their proper sections over the next week or so. Also, most of the old bitz range is still available over the phone while supplies last at 1-800-394-4263 until Feb. 13th or so. All of the main range stuff is in the $15.00 Complete Catalog. We'll also have the complete Collector's range (even more old/odd stuff) online for all the armies soon as well:

http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=301352&orignav=300866&GameNav=10

Hope this clarifies things a bit.

Oh, so starting Feb 14th, for the rest of my life if there was anything in there I wanted, I'm completely and utterly screwed? But, I can (maybe, if they're not sold out) get them until the 13th, so that makes it all ok? WOW, THANKS!

I also note that the entire Specialist Games range was omitted from both the German and the UK downloads. You're rapidly making your customers believe that the Specialist Games ranges are permanetly discontinued. This is not well recieved.

And while we're at it...

"In the past there were so many individual product codes and components available for sale that our Trolls became very confused. So confused, in fact, that they very nearly ate our Troll-herders in protest!

To make life easier for Trolls, herders and customers alike, we've combined the most commonly requested components into special Bitz Packs - examaple of which can be found here. We'll keep producing these packs as time goes on, so keep your eyes peeled for more!" - US White Dwarf #336, page 79

Seriously? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Are you actually claiming that the reason you're screwing me over on being able to order bits is that your mail order employees are idiots? Are you actually claiming that the proper response to your own employees being idiots is to remove a valued customer service, rather than find better employees?

And for the record - I'm not particularly mad at you personally, Rich. You've always seemed like a pretty decent guy. But your company, on the other hand, can be insulting in the extreme.

So, there's some Bitz I think I'm going to be wanting some ~5 months from now. To get the individual bit costs $6, while the boxed item it comes with costs $30. Do I spend the money on the bitz now, even though I might end up not needing them, or risk having to pay an extra $100 ~5 months from now when I'm no longer able to get them by themselves?

And we wonder why GW doesn't connect directly with it's customers! We all know they have a certain amount of company line they have to toe, so let's cut them the slightest slack in that regard.

First, at least he's telling you to place the order now, rather than letting you think it's over forever. Second, I've seen a few upheavals of the bitz syste, and it's the core to what makes GW unique. they're not going to abandon it wholesale, but yes, if there's something you want, I'd order it now.

Finally, I'm sure the trolls had very little to do with bitzpacks. I'm guessing between customers and store owners screwing up codes, the ludicrious amount of bitz orders that got messed up one way or the other, and the desire to make a buck, they're going to collect some of the more common things. What do you expect them to say? "Since the average pudgy fingered GW customer can't fill out a form, we're making it simpler..."?

Many thanks to Rich for keeping us up to date!

Excuse me? Who is the insulting one here?

I'm sure that they're not going to stop selling SG miniatures. Rick Priestley said they weren't going to when he announced these changes.

Rick, thanks for the clarification about future bitz pack releases. I'm sure that we'll see some of the old daemons rereleased when the Daemon Codex comes out, wot?

And it's nice that we can order individual models for cheaper now. I've been planning to round out my collection of Tyrannic War Veterans for some time, but the blisters in the store always have the WRONG ONES!

Hello all:

After much whipping and scourging upon my poor coworker Marc, the new Bitz, Collectors, and Specialist Catalog and US Price List are now available for download here:

http://us.games-workshop.com/2008catalog/default.htm

We've tried to break them into logical sections and have made them as small as we could and still make them legible when printed. If we produce any updates, we'll add them to the page as they are created.

Hope this helps you all out with your ordering. We're working hard on getting the old Online Store into shape with the new range (I'm reimaging all of the Vampire Counts as I type this to prepare them for the new range) and as you may have heard there is a brand-spanking new one on the way this Spring. That being said, we will continue to give you the utmost quality service with the old one for as long as it is being used.

Thanks for your patience,

So if I want to buy a pack of Epic Whirlwind/Hunters, and I specifically want 4 Hunters, I have no control over that? I'll just get X Whirlwinds and Y Hunters at random? Same goes for the Epic Predators pack, Destructors vs. Annihilators?

Heya Rich.

I'm not very thrilled with your initial bitz service revamp. I guess the most positive thing I can say is that you've left yourselves a lot of room for improvement in the future.

Personally, I'll be getting in a last "old style" order within the next couple days. I find the timing of your bitz change interesting, in that it's about all that I've been buying from GW lately, as I finish off my various armies.

After that next order, future orders will be entirely contingent on whether you guys choose to make it economically feasible for me to order the bitz I want.

But don't worry, considering where my minis are, you'll have at least 90 days to get your bitz service up and running. More likely, I won't need to order bitz for 6 months to a year.

Or more.

Looking back to the bump from your last major service reshuffle to ban Internet shopping carts, it was a good 2 or 3 *years* before I bought any product, and that product was entirely bitz.

Anyhow, I hope you guys have done a good job thinking things through, because it looks like you could be seeing another really dry spell after the bump.

/John
