That land raider is just so sweet

Thanks for all of the comments folks.

I just feel the need to clarify that the Camo guys are done to honor the original Badab War section of the Rogue Trader book. I've done a slight update on the style of stripes (the eighties weren't kind...) and matched the yellow the best I could with Vallejo model color ^_^.

I've dug down deep to find a bit more motiviation and started another Desert Support Marine:

Just a bit further to go with him. Stay tuned.

It's always a joy to tread this log, the Sons of Medusa are looking fine even with (and probably because of) the obscenely bright green you are using.

The camo marines are looking great too, the stripes are subtle enough to make the model not too busy and the muted yellow you've got going there is awesome.

That veteran's finger looks phallic. I'd love to see a Grey_Death weathering tutorial on how you did the land raider.

Fantastic stuff. I always wanted to do a Sons of Medusa army for no other reason than I love their name. Although I dont see the myths of ancient greeks still being around in 40k, but what the hell!

Back on the Sons of Medusa Wagon finally. I think the breaks with other models really helped to motivate me though! I have finished two greenies (minus chapter badge)!

And I've started doing real work on the Techmarine (who I'm using as a MotF) finally. I'm happy with it so far, still a long long way to go:

Hope to finish this one soon!

Nice to see some progress on the Sons again. How exactly are you doing the red on the Techmarine/MotF?

I'm telling you - If I saw a bunch of BRIGHT GREEN death machines smashing towards my position, I'd personally lay my head on the ground so that it might lead to a quicker end ("Stomp!" 'n' "Splat!")... Or leg it. The first sounds better.

Glad to see you back at these guys again mate, they're looking good as ever. Love your weathering too, it balances clean and defined with rough and gritty perfectly.

The red is shaping up nice on the MotF too.

Cheers,

Dante

Thanks for the comments!

UC, the reds are done with mechrite red over a bestial brown base color, washed badab black, brought back up to mechrite red leaving some wash in the recesses, highlight with blood red and finally an even lighter highlight (mostly to the edges) of fiery orange.

petelee, Termies are on the chopping block for paint in this first phase of the army (1500 points) with another unit and land raider in mind for phase 2 (2000 points).

lex, I'm really glad people are digging on the camo, I really like that scheme and it's actually a lot of fun to paint, and rather easy too (go go well covering paints ^_-).

Cosmic, they are pretty ridiculous green, but luckily the addition of the weathering really helps to break it up and ground them a bit. Some of the photos make them out a bit greener then they are (lighting/photo editing), but it's pretty close ^_-...

Dante, I'm glad to be back at them! Hope to ride this momentum a bit and see how far it takes me. Not having much else to do in my time off helps to guide me to paint too...

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

A bit of progress after some painting at the shop and now at work:

I am hoping tomorrow he will be finished. So stay tuned around tomorrow night. At the very least more progress will be made ^_-.

That red looks good, man. It's got allot of depth to it. By the way: "...ridiculous green..."-? Light & bright is good, especially orange... Mwhahaha! "Ahem".

About to eat your Avatar...

That Techmarine looks great man. I might try something similar on my eldar as a general paint scheme.

"Note"
The more I look at that model, the more I want to get it. I think that may be the best SM model available. Looking forward to seeing this done.

Will your all of the "trim" pieces be silver, or are you going to mix it up a bit? Really loving that green BTW, I think it looks great against the red.
