Demo charges always seem to be unexpected, right up until that guardsmen unit runs right up to your terminators, then the horrible realization dawns on you.

They won't be running...
They will be CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT-ing and then chucking a horrendous amount of demo charges.

I think the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT will change the metagame.

if a chimera with one demo charge strikes fear into marine players hearts, imagine what a AV14 2 SP vehicle would do

Considering it will be full of around 15 demo charges then yeah, they should be afraid.

God, this is such an awesome idea. I love democharges more and more.

A guy at my club uses them religiously and many a marine played hath wailed at moaned at the c4 out the top hatch of a chimera

I almost lost an entire GH pack to one once...
Bad placement on my part.

My first experience of playing with good players was having an entire assault squad blown apart by a demo charge, hell of a wake up call

What is the exact army listing needed to do such a thing? I will buy the mighty CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT and will make the most awersome models for this, but i need to know exatly how i would do so. PLEASE MGIHTY PURPLE FOODSTUFFS! LEAD THE WAY IN YOUR CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT TACTICS! Tell me the listing and it shall be done! (i will even make a liscence plate saying purplefood)

You would need...
3 CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORTs
60 standard Guardsmen
3 command squads
45 more standard Guardsmen
45 Guardsmen with demo charges
And, Codex:IG to get the points value.

I would suggest putting Heavy Flamers on the guns of the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT for added template fun.

You would end up with...
165 Guardsmen and 3 CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORTs

best 30 point upgrade in the codex. I have started to use it and have never been unhappy about the results. true, havent always used the demo charge, but those melta bombs are great. its funny to see the space wolf/blood angel/CSM player almost poop themselves when they see 10 guardsman assault their landraider.

What about these Cyclops demo things... how far can they disembark and then blow up having just deployed from the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT?

Could you also do this... field the platoon with most of them in chimeras, load up the SWS with the demos into the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT so that they're the only thing in there, and do it that way?

So then you'd have a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT full of nothing but demos and the rest of the army is elsewhere? or do they have to stick together?

Drive the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT directly into the heart of the enemy. Have all your men throw the demolitions charges directly on top of the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT. Everything around it dies. Your CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT will be perfectly fine.

Was tempted to cancel the VALDOR TANK HUNTER and get a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT. It is a sweet model.

This thread gives me some nice ideas on how to use it.

I am so tempted to buy a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT now. It'd be a great center piece for my Imperial Guard Army. It can totally be Creed's pimpmobile.

So i have a Q about the demo charge idea.... they're BS 3 sadly, that means a lot of demo charges will miss right? (when you throw em at your enemy, poor bastards)

But, if you want to stick them on your own transport, dont you still have to "throw" them? Wont that miss a bit too???

It just seems weird you have to "aim" with these things, you miss, and nothing happens... Just seems like you'd chuck it and press the button on the detonator and watch the body parts fly.... how does this work? Im confused on how this could be used....

They are more like sticks of dynamite or timed grenades.
I think it would be better if they missed...

NO! This is a suicide mission, you want it to kill EVERYTHING. I asked if you still have to throw it using BS 3? and if it missed does anything happen?

If you have BS3 you still have to throw it but when it scatters you only subtract 3 from the dice. That's about it actually...

It scatters just as normal, however since it's a 5" blast with a 6" range, that scatter can be deadly.
