Now, as many of you have noticed, lots of pony threads on OT before have failed thanks to a variety of reasons.
I'd like for this thread to not have the same fate. The topic of this thread is general MLP discussion. Anything about MLP is on topic. However, in order to ensure that this thread does not end up locked like the other ones, I'd like to make a few requests.
1) No pic spam. One pony reaction image or so is fine, but don't just spam dozens of pony pictures. THis thread is about discussing MLP, not throwing pictures at each other.
2) To those of you who either dislike the MLP:FiM show and its fandom, or are simply indifferent, please be respectful. If you find the pony fandom annoying, then no one is forcing you to visit a thread you KNOW will be filled with ponies. If you dislike the show, please at least be respectful to us. If you want to criticize, criticize. We bronies realize that not everyone will love MLP, and while we will encourage you to watch a show we love, we will respect our different opinions. However, do expect us to defend the show if we feel you're making an unfair criticism.
3) No trolling, please. We bronies will stay in our thread, and leave those of you who dislike the show alone. Please pay us the same courtesy. Bronies? If we are trolled, remember this: Bronies do it with love and tolerance.

I had no problem with the MLP thread...until it was starting to turn into a furry hate thread.
i used to go on a furry forum (technically),everyone there were jerks except maybe 2 guys. i was also younger so it hurt more.i haven't gone back in years it was so bad.

Then I watched the second episode.

The show is wonderfuly written. The animation is fantasic. It's quirky. It's cocky. It's made for for year olds. but it's watched by 17 year olds.
Name one kids show that has a happy, eccentric charater spiral deeply into a deep dark depression, and eventually into completely insanity.
Name another kids show that has the shy charater make both a dragon and a cocktrice its bitch.
Name one kids show where one charater battles over the idea of faith, and in the process gets hit by falling potted plants, anvils and and grand panio.
Name another kids show that has one of the charaters dress up as an 19th century prosituite.
Name another kids cartoon that refers to a dragon as 'Huffie The Magic Dragon.

Pinkie Pie is my favourite pony. Simply because she is highly awesome, and is a spoof of any G1 pony.
Have any of you also noticed that Twilight Sparkle has various writing swings? Sometimes she is wise and knowledgeble. sometimes she is a shamless corprate plug-in

WoW! I read all of this tread and this is what I have to say. Hasbro has one hell of a product that has survived 30 years.
I also have a hard time not looking at the business angle of things, so my apology to all on that aspect of me.
I remember the first time MLP came out and I knew back then that the Big chaaking! was happening.
I watched the newer stuff because of that was posted here and it was not too bad from a different perspective that I see. There is no harm to people watching it. It does have an audience and it sells product. The artwork is fine for what it and it does as well.
And bty people seem to like to collect the models as well. A collector is a collector and there is nothing wrong with that either.
If people like watching that show (including an older audience) then that cool by me.

Personally, I'm glad they have decided to distance themselves from the older show. I have never watched an episode, but the ads for it drove me insane as a kid.
