What do you guys think the best mat is to colour match GW Martian IronEarth / IronCrust? This would be for Titanicus games so any detail on it would need to scale with that.
A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on.............
You will not find a well-made gaming mat for under $65-70 USD. They're costly to ship (being heavy), and ordering from Europe direct you can expect $85-95 shipped.

The rubber is decent quality and durable etc etc?
I just got my 4' x 4' double sided mat from them in the mail..... So far its absolutely amazing. It's quite a bit more detailed then I imagined. But the quality is great, no creases or folds when laid flat which is a huuuge pet peeve of mine.
Also for what its worth the customer service was pretty good as well. I live in the middle east and they made some changes to ship to my country that other companies dont.
Warhammer 40k Army List
- Space Wolves Primaris
- Blood Angels
- Orks
- Death Guard
It's not necessarily a grass mat, but like an arid area with brush, gravel and a dusting of dry grass. It's my first mat and I love the thing. It may be a bit "too" flat for ya?
I got a set of the Gothic Ruins and Quarantine Zone to boot from Gamemat.eu. I run a small hobby page just for the fun of it, and made a review.
The people in our group at least at the moment didn't have time to start building a table, and we decided it's better to just get it prepainted so we can focus on miniatures and gaming. Can't complain, was good products.
Anyone have any experience with Stratagem’s maps? Amazon link
I’m thinking of picking up a mat, but have a number of restrictive preferences (which I could ignore, but would rather not)
Available on Amazon. This is restrictive, but I got some gift cards. For something really good, I could pony up some real money, but the gift cards are my guilt-free hobby budget.
Free/reasonable shipping to the USA. The cost to cross the pond puts some of the European mats out of my range.
4x6
Neoprene/mousemat. Not a fan of shiny vinyl, needs to roll up for storage without folds/creases.
Roughly in the $75 range
Arctic/snow and/or grasslands. I’d pay more for a double-sided map, but for the cost of trans-Atlantic shipping, I could almost just buy two mats domestically.
I noticed someone has recently started selling FLG mats via Amazon, but wanted to look into options.
Thanks.

Recap from Prague Open 2019 with some Gamemat.eu stuff in it. Had around 10 dudes from my club go there, unfortunately I didn't make it this time. Perhaps next year or so.
Hey guys, as some of you may have noticed, the page count has gone down a bit on this thread.
That's because we decided to do some cleaning up and remove most of the posts made by gaming mat manufacturers that were nothing but them posting their latest products here. Actual replies to posters about concerns and whatnot are still present though!
Reason for this is simple: the thread is for the reviewing of the products and people asking questions in general about them. It's for you guys to share your experiences with the products you've purchased and for you to ask around about what's out there. Not for manufacturers, who also maintain their own threads in N&R where they post the same things, to announce their latest releases. It kind of defeats the purpose of the thread when it was first conceived.
It may also be time to update the OP one of these days with a more up to date offering of companies out there, as I think Zuzzy is no more?
The quality is extremely high. The last time I bought mats from GF9 was at the outset of X-Wing so maybe late 2012 or early 2013. I love those mats but this one even better in terms of thickness and image.
The images are very vivid and there is a excellent sense of realism and detail — even on the desert side. This mat will certainly enhance your gaming experience if you like the spectacle of wargaming ... and what miniatures gamer doesn’t? The grassland/desert combo cover a huge amount of possible genres and scenarios, making this product exceptionally practical.
Some may blanche at the cost but considering its quality and utility, and that online retailers are selling it below MSRP, I think it’s a wonderful deal. I’d much rather pay this much for a single, well-made product than nearly as much twice over and have to worry about storing two.

Thank for this review - and link!
Just bought this mat and can't wait for it to arrive!
Can anyone recommend a flat grass mat? In the market for one thats not too over the top green
I bought a gamemat.eu standard grass one. No complaints and its had beer, water and young nieces all over it (obviously not at the same time). a few years old now and no creases or degradation either.
The depth of the colours is of course no where near as vibrant in the neoprene but the quality is marvelous. My PVC one had real issues with actually laying flat, scratched really easily and tended to allow models to skid, the neoprene one has none of these issues.
Sorry for the rubbish photos but here is a comparison (neoprene on the left);
Here is the neoprene in action;
Pricing was pretty average, shipping was really expensive but customer service and speed of delivery were both fantastic. 8.5/10 would purge with again.
Manchu, I guess I'm looking at this image (not a big image by any means):
... and the grass side almost looks like it has too much of a pattern to it. Maybe better photos would show me a different side of it, but that's all I have to go on.

Yeah I think that is quite noticeable in the tiny graphic but it doesn’t look that way when the mat is rolled out.
I will not that I have seen a repeated pattern problem, or at least the appearance of that problem, in some other mats I own. It certainly isn’t ideal but remember the mat is not the star of the show — the action during gaming is the star. And between the mat and the action ought to be a lot of terrain. Ultimately, the mat is there to support the terrain.
But again, I don’t think any repeated or semi repeated pattern is evident on the GF9 mat when viewed in person.

So I pulled the trigger and got a Stratagems’ Winter 4x6 mat.
Rolled flat out of the case, good detail, clean cut edges. Bag feels like mediocre quality nylon. But it has a drawstring and a carry strap. Came free with the mat so can’t complain. We’ll see how well it handles wear and tear. But as it’s just for casual home use, I suspect it will hold up OK. $70 USD on Amazon, free shipping (actually got it in two days without paying extra)
So far happy with it, but no blood has been spilled on it yet. But now my Ultras will have a home field advantage. Being based the same as the battlefield has been proven to help with your movement rolls and armor saves.
I ordered another sets of mats from Gamermat to put me at 17 now. Got to say I love em and my customers and tournament players love em too! Just had a 24 man 1000pt 40k yesterday and they looked amazing.
I'm looking for a recommendation for a good base for a Deathworld table.
I'm a big fan of the Gamemat.eu stuff, as I already have:
Highlands in War (6'x4') Sands of Time (6'x4') Tales of Mars (6'x4') Forges of Mars (6'x4') Fallout Zone/Imperial Base (6'x4' double-sided) Quarantine Zone/Wastelands (6'x4' double-sided) Chem Zone (4'x4') TriCity (4'x4')
... and they're all fantastic, but as I have a bunch of Deathworld stuff coming in from the two Killzones I ordered, and will be using some of the ruined Manufactorum/left-over Cities of Death stuff to make some Deathworld ruins, I want something underneath that fits that aesthetic. Nothing above right now does.
Any one have any suggestions?
