I recently bought a "Fallout Zone" mat from Incom Gaming. It's a gamemat.eu one.

A couple of photos of it with terrain on.

You can just about see the print grain in the one below. Looks perfect from any kind of gaming distance though.

Urbanmatz' 6’x4′ Badlands Game Mat reviewed here. Also, lots more pics @ the link.

Some pics:

I've got one more of Urbanmatz' mats left to review. I'm looking at ordering some mats from Gamemat and/or Deep Cut in the very near future, which I'll also review.

Does Deep Cut Studios have a distribution deal with someone in the US?

I'd love to get a 4' x 4' of their Space Hulk map for SW:A but cost + shipping will probably make it impractical.

hi Reecius,

Are the FAT mats available at element games in the U.K. The same quality as your latest ones?

According to your site, only the 4x4 are available in Europe/UK

@kaintaxu

We no longer sell or make the F.A.T. Mats as you probably know, those are made in China. We are manufacturing FLG Mats here in the USA. We are working on a solution to get them to the UK but logistics are a challenge. We will keep you informed as to when we have them there but for now, yes, only the 4x4' mats are available in the UK store.

The first FLG Mat off the line and it printed perfectly! This is a big moment for us, after a huge investment of money, time and energy, we've got our first new product, made right here in the USA! Thanks to everyone for supporting us on this endeavor.

That cobblestone map looks a bit weird. Who would build roads like that? widths and curves are mathematically perfect but the way they link together and go through each other at weird angles makes no sense. It needs a lot more irregularity (in road widths, potholes, less-than-perfect curves, etc) plus a more logical road layout to look realistic in my opinion. I like the lava map though, very cool.

That is a Cobblestone city from planet mathematical precision ;-) Up close, the detail on that mat is actually amazing.

Thank you for the feedback.

That looks pretty damn sharp. There are a lot of companies which really underwhelm me with the art they've done or chosen...but that looks pretty spot on.

@Hulk We've gotten our shipping down to just $6.99 normally now, so even outside of the sale it is much more reasonable now that we do enough volume to get the rates down. Glad you bought one, buddy!

Today, Friday the 21st of April is the last day to enjoy the lower prices and FREE shipping in the continental USA on the new FLG Mats. These mats are being made right here at our facility in the USA by Frontline Gaming staff.

We’ve got a wide variety of mats in 4×6′, 4×4′ and 3×3′ sizes! From natural scenes to urban to out of this world, we’ve got a gaming mat for all tastes. We’ve also got more Privateer Press official Warmachine and Hordes mats up for pre-order as well under these terms! Jump in the web-cart and see which one tickles your fancy.

Ordered two new mats from Urbanmatz in the Czech Republic - will post up opinions when they arrive.

One 6x4 Cobblestone for a friend, one 6x4 Dirty Roads for me.

I will say it was rather unfortunate for my buddy and I that the US options are so slim. The mats in the US either have poor art, or prices are more than equal mats from Europe. A bit frustrating, but I received my previous Deep Cut mats with no issues.

I've got the Urbanmatz 6x4 dirty roads one. I think it's great (review forthcoming - maybe this weekend if I can swing it) I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'm hoping to do a Deep Cut order this week as well - I'll review them (and the customer service) once it's all done as I have with the Urbanmatz maps.

I've had two Deep Cut mats and they're great - hoping Urbanmatz is on par! Thanks Azaz.

Just waiting on a reply from Deep Cut about VAT before I pull the trigger on a 5-mat order. Their system doesn't seem to remove the VAT from their prices (and shipping as well, I think) unlike Urbanmatz and Gamemat, and I'm not keen on "paying" tax that doesn't apply...

After Deep Cut the plan is to order a few from Gamemat, and then between the three manufacturers and my terrain collection I should be set for (almost) anything within reason...

Yeah, I don't remember if I considered VAT my first two orders from them, but it did come up when my buddy and I were looking at ordering mats (particularly since Urbanmatz removes it).

Wayland Games finally got a restock on the Deep Cut Studio Blood Bowl mats so i splurged for ONE mat and the shipping was more than the mat. I am really confused by this as i own 4 8x4 mats from both Kraken Wargames and Gamemat.eu and i don't think the shipping for my 4 full table mats even totaled the amount for this one tiny Blood Bowl mat. This will most likely end up being the only Deep Cut Studio mat i buy because paying more in shipping than the cost of the item is just stupid.

Well, you ordered it from Wayland Games, so wouldn't it be their shipping and not Deep Cuts?

Melbourne .au

Yeah. If you bought it from Wayland instead of direct from Deep Cut, that's hardly DC's fault.

I just checked their site to find the costs direct for a single Blood Bowl Mat shipped to the US:

Cart Totals
Subtotal 28.90€
Shipping Worldwide shipping: 14.90€
Calculate Shipping
Total 43.80€

If you paid more than 15 euro (roughly £13), then you got screwed by Wayland. Cancel the order if it hasn't shipped yet and order direct.
