You can add the brand new "Blood Bowl" soon to be released on PC and multiple consoles. Also the first expansion for DoW:II should be released in the next 6 months introducing Chaos. A Warhammer 40K MMORPG is also in production no titles though.

I remember trying to play Space Hulk on the PC when it came out. I thought I sucked as a gamer at the time because I couldn't get into it, turns out that game just sucked.

Battle march is an RTS game, sort of like Rome Total War, but with Warhammer Fantasy units. I played the demo and wasn't a fan because I don't really like games where you control such immense forces.
There is a game called Space Marine being put out by THQ, I'll update the article to reflect that. It is set for release March 11, 2011 Automatically Appended Next Post: I've been updating the list lots so anyone looking for games workshop video games can find them easily. If I've missed any can you just add them to this thread and I'll do what I can to update the article.

Relic have confirmed that it's exclusive to the PS3 and Xbox 360. It's an action game, so it's better suited to consoles.

How is it better suited for consoles? Don't be ignorant, there are a lot of action games available that play amazingly on PC. Its too bad that its exclusive, this whole console/ pc war crap is just going too far.
But back on topic. I've played lot of the Dawn of War RTS's and found them to be great on my PC, I do wan't to give battle march a shot though, Warhammer Fantasy Battle seems so overlooked nowadays.

I've played battle march and wasn't particular impressed. It felt a bit simplified to me. I still really enjoy playing Warhammer Dark Omen, which required you to play really carefully or your units could get minced. Battle March didn't really feel on par with Dark Omen, which was disappointing considering how old Dark Omen is.
Oh and despite Fire Warrior being horribly produced I still really enjoyed getting to play a 40k fps, it would be nice if someone could produce a decent 40k FPS, I would have thought it would have been really quite easy to come up with a solid story, game concept considering the abundance of fluff thats out there.
Apparently THQ are also going to be pushing out a 40K based MMO as well.

I'm dead serious. It's far more convenient to play, for example, Prince of Persia with the thumbsticks because of the eight-way run function, as opposed to the PC where you generally use your mouse to turn while moving, which could get very awkward when you need to move the camera.
Another thing to consider is button layout. Action games need tight, carefully planned controls or it all gets too awkward. The PC has all its buttons on one flat surface, so you're going to be moving your hands around a lot trying to find every button you need, while on a console you can access everything with a twitch of your thumb.
If Space Marine was a third-person shooter like Gears of War, then it would be more suited to PCs. In its current format, it's more suited to consoles. I've played action games like Prince of Persia on PC and then on the PS2 and Xbox, and the latter two were much easier to get used to.

My view is that third person shooters/rpg's etc are fine on consoles but that pads controls just arn't precise enough for proper FPS gaming. I couldn't play any shooter on a console, gotta have my keyboard and mouse.

If they did make a FPS shooter game again , I would want it to be abit like Bad company or gears-ish. Where you can use cover and work together as a unit.

Mouse+Keyboard is much more responsive and precise method of control than a joypad. There's a reason why all PC games use mouse+kb for FPS and no-one uses joypads (which are available, btw)

Lets not forget that the truly great FPS of Doom was on PC long before consoles became adapt at playing this sort of game. Games such as Rainbow six: Vegas or Ghost Recon, for example, where squad commands need to be given on the move work seamlessly on PC. Don't forget that a PC's power can be upgraded easily if need be, where-as a console can be limited. Albeit the PS3 is the daddy ATM.

I know your post was a long ass time ago, but for anyone that doesn't know, Space Marine is going to be released on the PC, you can pre-order it on steam. Being released September 6th.

Almost certain that they'll have Orks, too. They've already got most of the animations and models from Warhammer Online, and they're one of the most popular races.

I don't care much for shooters nor RTS games so I haven't tried many Games Workshop computer / console games. I did have Rites of War which was the best Games Workshop computer game to me. It more closely resembled table top war gaming than anything else I played. I would love it if they made more games like that.
