i collect iron hands, and i was wondering if it was possible to use grey knights as an allied force (using 1 force org. chart)
ive seen people doing it before but im unsure.
just wondering on the rules and regs, and any specifications needed to do so.

thanks
JD

I know in the daemonhunter codex you cannot have space marines if you use GK but vice versa IDK.

The erroneous Q&A here is a good example of why GW isn't likely to move forward with Inquistion for a long time: it's messy.

What C: DH *really* says is:
- an Inquisition force may take GK *or* Seconded Marines, not both.
- any SM / IG / WH force may take a few (1 HQ, 1 Elite, 2 Troops) DH (i.e. GK) units

The GK / DH that can not count toward the compusory 1 HQ & 2 Troops but are otherwise normal and restricted.

So you could take a GK HQ and a GK Elite. Your army would look like this:

HQ
1 Iron Hands leader
1 GK hero (i.e. GK Termie Capt)

Elite
0-2 Iron Hands elites
0-1 GK / DH / IH elites (i.e. GK Termies)

Troops
2 Iron Hands troops
0-2 Iron Hands troops
0-2 IH / GK / DH troops

and so on.

thanks john, that helps loads, looks like i can do it then.

was thinking about adding just a unit of GK termies, but now i think 2 units of PAGK are in order along with a GK hero
colour scheme fits well too with my iron hands, and i can add more servo skulls XD

(no use in the army, just like em )

Or, you can take 10-pt Stormies in Rhinos as Troops to help bump up your Scoring count.

Grey knights are one of the chapters erased from the Space Marine chapter list, right?

If you mean the 2nd and 11th Legions, and their erasure from the record of the Founding Legions, then no, the Grey Knights are neither of those.

No one knows what happened to the 2nd and 11th Legions, and the Grey Knights were founded much later, after the Heresy.

Whether the GK are 2nd or 11th depends entirely on which set of Fluff you take as canon, and whether you're allowed to make logical deductions, or can only go by what GW spoon-feeds you.

For example, in some of the older Fluff, the GK are given as a Second Founding Chapter. However, other contemporaneous Fluff states that the Second Founding is strictly a refounding of the First Founding. Therefore, one would necessarily conclude that the GK were a First Founding Chapter that wasn't (semi-publicly) recognized until the Second Founding.

Such a view would fit well with their age, homeworld, etc.

But getting GW to admit it? No way.

Why would they want to admit it?

Anyway, the lost Legions are the Valedictors and the Iron Hearts. It's true. Look it up.

Valedictors

All I can find on the Iron Hearts is that they're the chapter who had their battle simulator invaded by Daemons in Into the Maelstrom

Valedictors/Iron hearts first founding?

This two chapters are only a example of bad researched fluff.
Their article at lexicanum is absolute incomplete and not even identical in english and german.
(lexicanum has 2 switchable languages).

Erase this idea of any "chapter" beeing a lost Legion of first founding.
Please. Thanks

From memory, the 2nd edition fluff had them as being created 'around' the time of the second founding, rather than actually being a second founding chapter.

i see GK's as less of a chapter, but more of a group of hand picked elite daemon hunters.
regardless of what fluff says

and its not the 1st time GW have messed up fluff.

Having looked at the link above, I have to call bs on the Valedictors being a 1st Founding Legion. They may have started that way, before GW solidified the 40K fluff, but they aren't any more. Besides, if we included all the really old 40K fluff, the Ultramarines (sorry, Ultra-Marines, as they were called) wouldn't be a 1st Founding Chapter.
